How To Buy Or Sell Spreads On Robinhood – Step By Step TUTORIAL – No ROBINHOOD GOLD REQUIRED
All right, ladies and gentlemen,
I'm going to make a quick video here to show you how to execute or make an
order for a spread on Robinhood and using mobile. Now,
we've been doing a lot of spread videos. So this is a continuation.
We are going to cover a lot of these.
I really think using spreads and integrating it with any option trading
strategy, it's going to help you guys become more profitable.
So let's get it coming into all of this baby.
And also we are still going to be posting a watch list today.
I usually post one every single night since I'm posting two videos today,
you might not get the notification YouTube trips out.
So make sure around 6 PM, 6 15 PM Pacific time,
you come back here on this channel and check for the watch list, baby.
But let's talk about this. And this is one, you know,
if anybody wants to do any spreads, I will show you guys some companies,
McDonald's or home Depot are some of my favorite ones, but you go here,
this is on the desktop.
You press trade options and then to sell the spread,
it'll take you to this page.
And then you go to select the options you want to do.
Now you do them both at the same time.
A spread is doing two orders at the same time where you are sorting a contract,
selling it, and then buying one to cover it.
So first you would go to sell first. So you click sell.
We're selling a call and you can see here, I'm negative one here,
positive one here. I already own this spread.
So I'll just do it on another one, but you would sell,
since it's a credit spread,
you're trying to sell the more expensive contract and then you buy back the
cheaper one. That's the simplest way to do it here.
But now you're saying total credit to 35 boom call credit spread.
That's how you would do it.
And you would even switch it on days or even now,
even if you wanted to close out the spread.
So you guys see I already have an open spread in this case,
I would just go negative one. I would buy back this one,
sell the one that I'm plus one on and boom, this is a two option order,
but this would be to close this spread. So this is on the desktop.
Now let's switch to mobile. So on mobile, it's pretty much the same thing.
And again, you do not need Robin hood gold or anything,
anything special to do this. You just have to have spreads enabled,
but click to the bottom, the little magnifying glass,
come here to the press search, enter in the ticker. We'll do HD home Depot,
click that, bring it up. Now click the trade button, trade options.
And now it takes us here to the option chain again. So let's go October 18th.
You select your date and it's going to be the same thing first,
but now what's the first thing you're going to do.
You're going to sell an option here. So again, you guys see here,
we're negative one, two 30 bought a two 32.
We'll do the same exact process here. And again,
I'm showing you random place here to show you.
But now what you would do is you would press select here in the top, right?
First. So now you're on sell, sell, call you, press select.
It's now going to open up this right here. We sell the two 25.
You click that one. And then you see in the bottom, it says HD two 25 call.
And then now go to buy. So by selecting by now,
no longer shorting us. So we clicked the two 27. As you see there,
it says in the bottom two options selected, press continue.
It says call credit spread. And now you get to, you know, you have your price.
You can edit your ratio. Your ratio is literally one-to-one.
If you wanted to mess with that,
really you're not going to be changing that around.
All you're going to be changing around is you're going to do one credit spread.
And then pretty much all you're going to change around is the credit and the
limit price. Now, here's something we've talked about.
If you were trying to buy a credit spread in this case, you're selling it.
So if you're trying to open the position,
you're more likely going to get filled on the lower end,
on that one 50 on the limit price.
And then if you want to buy back and close out,
you're going to get filled right away at the one 85.
So this one 68 it's showing is literally the in-between.
So keep that in mind if you want to get filled, but that's pretty much it.
This is a simple way to go about selling spreads on Robin hood. And again,
if you wanted to do the exact same thing, but flip it around,
you would just literally reverse this process.
If you wanted to do a debit spread.
So let's say we wanted to do a debit spread. You would click select again,
but then we'd sell the two 27 and then buy the two 25.
And then you'll see here called debit spread. Same exact thing.
So I'll leave you guys with that. Make sure you guys are subscribed.
The code loves you. We all love you. We'll see you in the morning.
I'll see you on the watch list tonight.
