How to browse our toys…

Okay, hi everyone. I'm just going to do a short video to show you guys how to navigate our Cairns Toy Library Settles page. Now I'm just searching in my search engine first to find it. S-E-T-L-S. Settles. Cairns Toy Library Settles brings me here, Cairns Region Toy Library, and then in the top right-hand corner, I'm doing this in the car. Sorry, as my little one sleeps. So anyway, Moldy's asking. Sign in. So you just need to pop in your email there. When you signed up with us, you would have got, with your email address, been sent a password so you can use the website, the database with all the toys and stuff. If you have forgotten your password, or if you can't find that email, no problem. Just put your email address in here and click forgotten password. It'll send you a link to reset your password. You've got to do that within two hours and then that'll get you in. If you're not a member, there's also another link there. You can click in and join and get everything sorted that way. So I'm just going to click sign in here. So this is what it'll look like. Now, the benefits of this are knowing what toys are in our library. You can go to a toy library, you can have a little plan, and you can go in and just get the toys you want instead of be a bit frazzled and be overwhelmed by the choice. So that's just one thing, or if you're looking for something in particular, you can see what we've got so that might help. So I've just gone to toys, list, there's a picture list. So the picture list, I'm a visual person, I quite like the picture list. You know, you can literally just scroll almost like randomly until you see something that you like, and it'll tell you when you click on it and you hover it. So this is a Bluey family car. It tells you which section you can find it in and the age range. Yeah, like the ride-ons, the games, all that sort of stuff. So that's all just, you know, you just scroll down and see what you like. Or, if you are searching for something quite particular, they've got this really good bit here. So I've got two children. One is, wow, she's 20 months, but let's just put in 18 months. So let's just say I'm looking, yeah, for some toys for an 18 month old. I'll just put in 18 months, nothing else at this stage, and go search. And this is all the stuff that would kind of be really good for her age. Yeah, so that's kind of handy if I just want to get specific for her. So the other thing is, yeah, you can you can have a look here and let's just say, alright, for an older age. Alright, let's go for my six-year-old. Go click on that. First, let's just see what they bring up here. Search. Oh, there we go. Some art and craft. What's this one? Science. Volcano kit. And it tells you if it's on loan or in the library. So if you know it's there, you can head straight in and get it. You can have in the category. So if we're not going, I'll just reset this. I'll hit reset. So let's just say you're like, okay, there's all these different categories here. Coordination, instruction and play, shape sorting, feelings and emotion. Let's say, look, you might, you're going traveling. You want to get some travel toys. There you go. Travel toys. Search. And there's some pretty cool things here. It's in the library. So you could be like, okay, great. I'm going to head straight in and try and get that. You know, it just sort of shows you what we've got. It gives you ideas. So it gives you the age range. So yeah, that's just a few things you can do. I think in the past I've as well just typed in here. You can have a play around. There's so much here you can have a look at. You can check out your membership, how much money you've saved. Yeah, just go through everything. Just have a play around. That sort of thing. Yeah, so like you might be looking at bath toys. You might come in and be like, I want to see if the toy library's got some bath toys. So I can just do a search even up there. Go like, okay, cool. Bath toys. And I've just got a bit of information about it. So anyway, yeah, I hope that's helpful. Where are we? Feature toys, there we go. New toys. So say you're feeling like you want to see what's new in the library. Here's all the latest toys. Like we've got this wooden racer. So yeah, it gives you an idea of everything that's out there. Cool.
