Pokemon New Art Style and Old Art Style Comparison!
What would Pokémon's newest art style look like if it were animated in the classic style? In this video, I compare reimagined scenes, transforming modern Pokémon moments into the older art style for a side-by-side comparison.
From epic battles to emotional moments and iconic character expressions, you'll see how each scene changes when recreated in the classic Pokémon look. Whether you're a fan of the older animation or the newer style, this comparison highlights the differences in character designs, colors, shading, details, and overall atmosphere.
Which art style do you prefer? Let me know in the comments!

In this video, I am going to compare the Pokemon Journeys art style with the Pokemon XY art style.
For simplicity, I'll refer to the Journeys art style as the new art style, and the XY art style
as the old art style. I'll also be showing side-by-side comparisons of some of the most
iconic frames from the anime. Let's start with Ash, Dawn, and Brock. After being apart for 12
years, they finally reunited in Arceus Chronicles. This is how that scene would look in the old art
style. It brings back so many memories and makes their reunion feel even more special.
Next, we have Ash holding his cap during the battle against Leon. Here's how this scene would
look in the old art style. Ash looks absolutely awesome. And here's the side-by-side comparison.
The next image is May and Serena watching the Ash versus Leon battle. This is how they would
appear in the old art style. Here's the side-by-side comparison. We also have another frame of them
where the difference between the two art styles is even more noticeable. Moving on, we have Ash
holding the Alola League trophy. This is how the scene would look in the old art style. Here's the
side-by-side comparison, and the difference is quite huge. I wish this image was real. Next, we
have Ash and Bayleef together. This is how they would look in the old art style. The biggest
difference I notice here is in Misty's design and the overall level of detail. Here's another frame,
and this is how it would look in the old art style. Next, we have Ash, Misty, and Silent together.
This is how they would appear in the old art style. As a kid, I've always imagined how these
three would look together, and the old art style gives the scene much more emotion than the new
one. One of the biggest differences is the level of detail. Many Pokemon Journey scenes feel much
simpler, whereas the old art style adds more depth and atmosphere. This scene is a great example of
that. The next scene is Alolan Ash holding the Beast Ball. This is how the scene would look in
the Pokemon XY art style. Here's the side-by-side comparison. The next four scenes feature Ash,
Misty, and Brock in the snow. Here's the first one, and this is how it would look in the old art
style. The second scene shows Ash holding a Pokeball, and this is how it would look in the
old art style. The third scene is this one, and here's how it would look in the old art style.
Finally, here's the fourth snow scene, and this is how they would look in the old art style. Misty
looks like she came straight out of Pokemon the Movie 2000 here. The next scene is a flashback
featuring May and Dawn, and this is how they would look in the old art style. Next, we have Alolan
Ash surfing with Pikachu. This is how the scene would look in the old art style. Here's the
side-by-side comparison, which really highlights the difference. The next scene is a flashback of
Ash with his old Pokemon. This is how it would look in the old art style. Here's the
side-by-side comparison. Next, we have Misty watching the Ash vs. Leon battle. This is how
she would look in the old art style. The changes are subtle, but they make a huge difference to
her facial design. The next few scenes are from the movies. First, here's a side-by-side comparison
of a scene from Pokemon, the first movie. Which Ash design do you like better here? Next is a
scene from Pokemon Movie 23. This is how it would look in the XY art style. Here's the side-by-side
comparison from the same movie. The next scene is when Ash and Serena reunited in Pokemon Journeys.
This is how they would look in the old art style. Next, we have Ash, Misty, and Brock reuniting in
Pokemon Sun and Moon. This is how the scene would look in the old art style. Here's another scene
where Ash is holding a trophy. This is how it would look in the old art style, and here's the
side-by-side comparison. The next few scenes might actually make you angry because of how poorly they
were animated. First scene is this, and this is the old style version. Here's the comparison.
Next scene is this, and the old style version is this. The next scene is this, which really looks
poorly animated, and this is how it would look in the old art style. Here's the comparison of art
styles. Looking at these images really makes me feel like we were robbed. Next, we have a scene
where Ash and Misty are looking at someone. This is how it would look in the old art style. Here's
the comparison between the two styles. The next scene is this one, and this is how it would look
in the old art style. Misty looks absolutely beautiful here in the old art style. Next, we
have a scene where Ash is looking at the Rotom phone. This is how it would look in the old art
style. The next few scenes are from the final episode of Pokemon Journeys. First, Ash reunites
with Pidget, and this is how the scene would look in the old art style. Another scene from the
episode is Ash resting near a tree, and this is how he would look in the old art style. Here's
the side-by-side comparison. Another scene from the episode is Ash and Pikachu looking at each
other, and this is the old style version. The last scene of the episode was Ash flipping a coin,
and this is how it would look in the old art style. Next, we have Ash wearing his night clothes.
This is how the scene would look in the old art style. Here's the side-by-side comparison. The
next is this sun and moon comparison scene of Misty in the new art style and the old art style.
Which art style do you prefer here? Next, we have another scene with Ash and his old Pokemon
together. This is how they would look in the old art style. Misty looks really pretty here. The
next scene is a flashback where Ash remembers his Greninja. This is how Ash would look in the
old art style. Here's the side-by-side comparison. Another XY flashback features Serena with her
Pokemon. This is how it would look in the old art style. The difference is in the level of details.
The next flashback is from Sunoh. This is how the old art style would look here. Brock looks
amazing in this scene. Now, let's wrap up with the last few comparisons. First, we have this scene,
and this is how it would look in the old art style. Next is the scene from Ash's battle against
Cynthia in Pokemon Journeys. This is how it would look in the old art style. Notice the difference
in the level of detail, especially on Cynthia. Next, we have Ash with his parallel universe
counterpart. This is how they would look in the old art style. Here's another scene from the same
episode, and this is how Ash would look in the old art style. The next scene is this one, and this is
how it would look in the old art style. Next, we have Ash and Misty together with Mime Jr. This is
how the scene would look in the old art style. The next scene is when Serena reunites with Ash.
This is how she would look in the old art style. Here is the side-by-side comparison.
Then we have this scene, and this is how they would look in the old art style. Finally,
we have Ash meeting Paul again in Pokemon Journeys. This is how they would look in the
old art style. I think this reunion would have felt much more exciting if they had kept the old
art style. And that's it for this video. I've also created a comparison between the old and
new animation styles. Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see a video on that as well.
So, the reason for this is that YouTube hasn't given me the feature of multi-audio tracks yet,
and I wanted to make this video reach an international audience. That's why this video is
in English. Rest, it took me a lot of time to make this video. So, please like this video before
you leave. I'll see you in the next video. Bye-bye!
