Hey, what's up folks, today I'm going to show you guys how to do a very quick, simple ham
and cheese sandwich with a sunny side egg on top.
This is sort of a classic French recipe called croque madame, but it's a little bit different
because I use sourdough toast, sort of like this little baguette, as opposed to brioche,
which is originally in the recipe.
So it's a little bit different than the original, but you know, yields sort of more of a rustic
look to it, not as, you know, fluffy and light, but a little bit more dense, has sort
of that sour taste in the sour bread, and it just works perfectly with all the ingredients.
Hopefully you guys enjoy this, it's a very, very simple recipe, I think it's like four
or five ingredients.
So just follow me along, and let's make this awesome croque madame.
So here I'm using a sourdough baguette, some black forest ham, and some sliced gruyere.
I'm just going to toast it up in this sauté pan to get it nice and crispy, and then throw
it in a 350 degree oven to get everything all melted together.
So while that's all sort of toasting together in the oven, I'm just going to fry up this
egg.
It takes about three to five minutes, and I have this nice little single egg pan, it
gives a nice decorative touch to the end.
Notice that the first time I put it in the oven, it was open faced.
Now I'm just going to close it and put it back in the oven, just to make sure all that
cheese is properly melted.
So once everything's ready, you guys know what to do, just assemble it, put it on the
plate, and it's time to eat.
