Every athlete has a defining moment, where everything slows down, time stands still. The moment you shape history and become immortalized. You enter uncharted territory. This is not that defining moment. It's the moments before. I should clean all my snot off them. Bacteria festival. It's great, I can make an instructional video for my kids. I gave up on that. My son yesterday showed me how to do it all of a sudden. I was like, oh shit, you got it. Alrighty. Just two more laps. A few kites. This is the last lap. And then the bridge. Do you think you can walk over the bridge and then walk back? I'm super late. Alright, let's do it. The whole family. You know, if you count wrong, you'll see it again. For me, it's the best dinner with his beers and alcohol. With his fancy dress. She's so discreet. Is this the new couple? Incredible. See you later. Bye. Take people along on that journey to a certain degree. Champion mentality, I think, is a tricky one because it's very individual. You can't apply something across all athletes. I think, to a degree, we're all running from something. And when you do that, you have to find your own calling. You have to know what it is that makes you get out of bed when you feel like it's all cozy and you just want to rest and your legs are sore and you keep on pushing. Pump track circuits. Like this? Bueno. For me, it's a complex mix of trying to be at the top, feeling self-worthy, feeling that I want to supersede myself and find my limits. But it's also something that changes much along the way. I used to want to change my stars and have different circumstances and make it as such. But the financial motivation nowadays is none. It's something that doesn't motivate me. In fact, if anything, it sabotages me. And therefore, it's interesting to keep on analysing that too because over 22 years of being a pro, you kind of need to reinvent yourself and you need to re-find that reason because otherwise you're going to have a short space of time. And once you fulfil whatever you're running from, then that journey is probably coming to an end.
