Hey, so today we're going to the Monument of Remembrance. It is popularly nicknamed as Gelfra,
which in Luxembourgish means the Golden Lady. You'll see why once we get there, I promise.
So, this establishment was dedicated to the Luxembourgers who fought in the Allied forces
during the two world wars as well as the Korean war. It was established on the 7th of May 1923
and this structure is super tall, as the pictures say, but we'll go there today to see
what exactly it looks like and possibly read more on the story of what it represents.
Something I like the most about this town is the consistency.
I take the 921 bus to this place, and the name of the bus is 921. So, I take 921 to,
I take 921 back from. Same stops, same distance, about 30 minutes to and fro.
I mean, 30 minutes go in, 30 minutes come in, so I enjoy the consistency.
Staircuts. I take the tram T1 to Hermelius. Get in the hang of it.
Yesterday, I took the wrong tram. I missed it. That was close. If you're ever lost,
find your way to Hermelius. It's almost the easiest place to get a bus going everywhere, so
if you're ever lost, find your way to Hermelius. I am at Hermelius and I think I took a road I do
not find familiar, so I am going back to the road I had followed earlier.
There is really no shortage of what to eat on the streets. It's busy. I am yet to see what I want.
I was looking for gifts today. These are way cheaper. I have to get these. I have to get
these flowers before the day ends. I am going to put in water in my accommodation, because now I
have learned that some flowery things are not so bad. Thousands and thousands of tourists,
and also to experience Luxembourg. I will strongly advise that you come here in the
early morning or late in the evening, because by then it's clearer, it's emptier,
way less people. Another day of gambling between saying thank you,
thank you. What is thank you in Luxembourgish? I don't know. The sun is really out, it's bright,
it's hot, so come along with your sunscreen, especially if you're coming in summer.
The sun is really bright, so I can't get the golden lady. I should most likely run to the
store where they sell Gelfra merchandise and articles before the store guide in front of me
takes them there, and then I have to wait. Welcome to Gelfra. She's right behind me,
and oh how magnificent. There are tons and tons of people, so I would strongly advise if you're
coming here, come early in the morning or later in the evening, because when I passed by here
yesterday evening, it was relatively empty and pretty much just me and a few other people.
Let's see. I have somehow struggled to get decent pictures for myself today.
A couple from people better than yesterday.
It's not as easy as I say it is. Every few minutes,
tourists come here with a guide. I think I'll join one of those guides,
so that I know the next place to go.
Hello.
The store has two sides, as I saw yesterday.
Things range from 4.90, 5 euros, 6 euros, 7 euros,
and 13. I think the most I've seen is 20, and it's on the other side of the store.
Okay, do you have one that doesn't shake? Do all of them have the snow on it?
All of them do? Oh, I'll take one of this. It comes in a box?
Okay, this will be. When do you close? Let me just get it now, because I will just keep walking.
The person attending at the store window suggested I take pictures of the specific
things I want, so that he gets them for me. Some of the things are not available.
I'm so sad. The ones I want are not available.
I'm still taking the ones I took before. Okay, thank you. Let me see.
At least, where are these places?
Okay, the pictures are available. Okay, so I'll take one.
This one, this one. Yeah, the lady, the snow globe, and this one.
Sold out.
This is magnetic. The location, the bridge, the history, everything.
Can you see the church? The big one up there. So, let's go down. Yep, down there.
