I bought them, the Exiton 15s.
We got them.
Let's see if we can blow them up.
Good to know these Exiton speakers passed right here.
And Noel's in the video too, so.
Let's open the top here.
I believe these come with a bag.
I have no idea.
Side note, I purely bought these speakers because of Nick Spinelli.
You know, he trashed them, so I was like, you know, I'm going to put my money where
my mouth is and just buy them and see if they're worth a ----.
So, looks like we got a bag here, and then there's a power cable.
We got stick one.
We got the manual power cable.
We open this guy up.
I'm not going to lie, as I'm unboxing this, everything feels very cheap.
Like the weight of this feels very hollow, and like the top also feels very hollow.
And I don't know what that smell is.
It's got a weird smell, but that's the top.
I can tell you right now, this top right here, like compared to an LD top, this is so much
lighter.
Like this weighs nothing.
And then we got another bag here, and I guess this bag is the overall bag for all of these
other bags.
It's not a bad bag.
It's got a decent amount of cushion, but let's throw that to the side.
And let's get to the base, the 15-inch sub.
Past inspection.
Glad to know.
All right.
We have a box inside of a box.
I love when boxes are inside of boxes.
All right, styrofoam.
Come off, damn it.
Oh, wow, this whole thing's like styrofoam.
There we are.
The Exelton 15.
And I actually, so I will let you guys in on a hint.
I have heard these speakers already.
Pittsburgh DJ Live Summit, they had two of them.
So me and Nick had already heard them, and dude, they have a weird smell out the box.
Comment below if you've had these before.
They have a weird smell.
All right.
There's the 15-inch sub.
Weight-wise, it's definitely a light 15-inch sub compared to, well, this is a little plug,
we're doing a whole Speaker Wars, literally right behind me.
I'm unboxing this, and we're going to take them right over into Speaker Wars, where we're
going to be comparing 10 different speaker systems, some of the most popular on the market
right now, and give you guys our honest opinion.
We're going to be A to B-ing them all the way across the board.
We're going to be measuring their output, everything.
Speaker Wars 2.0, coming soon.
This is the top.
I'm not reading any instructions, seeing how intuitive this is.
Here is the top.
And then there's two sticks.
I don't think the sticks are meant to be ... No, they're not.
So they give you two height sticks, so you can either go short or tall, depending on
your application, like if you're on a stage, I assume.
Magnet plops in, and then the top plops on.
That is not a sturdy connection, I'm not going to lie.
I'm not hating on it, but I'm hating on it.
This speaker is a 580-something dollar speaker on Amazon, so you can't knock it when it comes
to the price, build quality.
But for the money, we'll see if it's worth it.
But this is a $500 speaker, and yeah, overall, it looks good.
I guess we're going to plug it in and listen to it.
So let's take it over to the Speaker Wars setup and listen to the speaker.
So this is a little bit of a teaser, but Speaker Wars 2.0, where I'm filming both videos at
once, so you guys get the Exiton review, and the Speaker Wars is coming soon.
So this right here ... I'm almost going to the wrong speaker.
This one costs way more dollar digits than this one.
So we got the Exiton speaker here, fully set up, ready to go.
Let me go through the inputs on the back real quick.
So here is the back of the Exiton speaker.
It's very bare bones.
No screens, no frills, no nothing, really.
Right here, you have a selector.
You can select through different options, whether you're on normal mode, DJ mode, voice
mode, live mode, or flat mode.
I actually don't even know how we switch it.
Oh, this dial over here allows you to switch your different ranges.
You got power, signal, and clip in the upper right here.
You have a button to Bluetooth link the speakers, kind of cool.
Then from input, we have RCA input, XLR input, which we're using today.
And then you have one dial knob that controls RCA, Bluetooth, and XLR all in one.
Not sure I like that.
On the B side here, we do have mic input, so there's a switch here to switch between
mic and line level input.
Pretty nice.
And a mix out.
Power switch at the bottom, heat condenser in the middle, and that's about it.
So let's go ahead and play some music through this speaker, and I'm going to give you guys
my natural, raw reaction to how this speaker sounds.
And Marcells is also going to help me.
All right, let's hear the Exiton 1503s.
This is our complex setup for the Speaker Wars.
So we're just going to play some non-copyrighted music compared to Marcellus Doe here.
We're standing about 15 feet.
We'll go ahead and give you guys the dB reading too on this in DBA.
And we're going to max them out, and maybe we'll blow them, maybe we won't.
We're going to find out.
We got a second one, though, just in case.
Go ahead and play the song, and let's crank it up.
And Marcellus, come over here.
Let's get a reaction.
We'll put this on max mode, and we'll see how many SPL we can get out of it.
We're listening.
Yep, that's clipping.
Okay, well, we're at clip.
You can hear the guys in the back.
You can hear that.
Break it down.
All right, 114.8 is the max DBA we got at 15 feet on that speaker.
Pretty solid.
I actually was looking at the video of the first Speaker Wars, and dB-wise, that matches
the LD28G3 on max volume level.
We're going to do more in the Speaker Wars, and this isn't about the Speaker Wars.
The sub bumps, but when you push it, what's the word for it?
It just washes out.
It's not, it loses all, when it really has to push, and the top is piercing.
What do you think?
I think sub's just very muddy.
Top is very loud, but it is piercing.
It's not balanced well.
The clarity on the high end of that speaker is piercing loud, and it hurt my ears listening
to it, honestly.
Mike, you got any opinions?
It's bright, and we're doing Speaker Wars right now, too, so we've been listening to
a bunch of other speakers.
If I go back and A-B everything, it sounds brighter than everything, and at a low volume,
it kind of sounds better to me at a low volume, but there's a reason all these other speakers
are not doing that, because at volume, it's going to hurt you.
At low volumes, it sounds pretty good as a speaker overall.
It's not bad at all at low volumes.
Cocktail for $500 for a 15-inch column array?
15-inch sub for a cocktail.
As Mike said, 15-inch sub for a cocktail, but cocktail, background music, intro area,
I could see it for corporate events for a cocktail kind of area.
50 people under household.
You need a lot of these.
If all my speakers are out at events, and I needed a quick corporate speaker to throw
music in a room, it'd do the job, and for $500, it's cheap, but guys, honestly, these
aren't DJ speakers.
I would not use these to DJ.
Even for a 60-person wedding, they're just piercing.
They are so piercing on the high end, and you might not hear ... There's some older
DJs out there.
Honestly, you guys have probably lost your hearing, and you don't hear those high frequencies
that come out of that speaker.
It's got the ringtone, or the high-piercing sound that they did back in the day to prank
the teachers that couldn't hear it or whatever.
Those come out of that speaker at volume, and it's bad.
From a functional point of view, if you're going to do ceremonies, throw a lapel on that.
Try to get it to not feedback.
Oh, that's true.
Do you know what I mean?
Yeah.
It would probably ...
We haven't even tried a hand, homie.
We should do that.
We haven't done any microphone feedbacks.
That's a good point, too, with the speakers.
If you're using any sort of microphones, if there's those really, really high, bright
frequencies coming through, it's going to be harder to prevent that from coming through
the microphone versus a more well-balanced speaker that's not piercing on certain ends.
Yeah.
That's kind of the review on the Exeton 15.
I think, Spinelli, you did a good job talking about it.
I wouldn't say it's as bad as Spinelli said it is, because we've got to consider the speaker's
only $500, but that's thrown around too much.
It's a $500 speaker, $500 speaker.
It's not built to do what we do as DJs.
It's not built to sound overall good.
This is assembled in China to be what looks like these $1,000 options, but with the lowest
quality components to make it cheap.
That's why.
Honestly, this is the new Harbinger, Behringer speaker system, and personally, I would say
save your money and buy a pro speaker.
Back in the day, I made videos on this where I talked about, don't buy Harbinger speakers.
Don't buy Behringer speakers.
Save your money and just buy one nice speaker.
Same principle applies here.
Save your money and just buy one LD20AG3.
It's going to sound phenomenally better.
They're louder.
They're louder when it comes to clarity and output and microphone quality.
Yeah.
So for $500, I wouldn't get it.
That's my opinion.
And overall, check out Speaker Wars video coming soon to learn more about all these
speakers.
So if you guys want to check out the garbage speakers, I'll link them on Amazon down below,
but I wouldn't say recommend buying them.
I would buy LD systems.
That's my personal opinion.
And if you guys want to buy LD system speakers, we have Bowflight in USA, which is what this
warehouse is all for, Bowflight in USA products.
We have a new shipment coming in here in a couple of weeks.
That's why it looks a little empty in the middle here, but we are now an authorized
dealer for Adam Hall products.
And that includes LD system speakers.
That includes gravity stands.
If you guys want any of that, check it out down below, Bowflight in USA's website.
We now have all the LD products available on our website to buy through us, through
me, through Marcellus and through the team here at Bowflight in USA.
Anyways, that's the X-Aton 15.
Burn them up, baby.
