The travelers conclude their trip to Siquijor with a peaceful morning on the beach before traveling to Dumaguete. Their time in the city is filled with culinary highlights in historic Spanish-era homes, cultural visits to a cockpit arena, relaxing massages, and a mysterious tarot card reading to end their Philippine adventure.
Our Isekey Horror trip was way too short. I honestly wish we had stayed a few more days
because there's still so much of the island left to explore. Good morning!
For our last morning, we enjoyed a classic Filipino breakfast before taking one final
walk along the beach. We originally planned to go kayaking but since it was slow tide,
we decided to slow things down and simply enjoy the shoreline instead.
As we wandered along the beach, we spotted tiny fish
swimming through the shallow water, little crabs floating across the sand,
and even a beautiful 6 person star. What do you call it? Oh yeah! Oh my goodness!
That's trout.
It's their food, the kelp.
It was the perfect and peaceful way to say goodbye to Sikehor. Before we knew it,
it was time to check out of our hotel and make our way back to the pier for the ferry to Dumaguete.
It took us an hour ferry ride from Sikehor to Dumaguete.
We arrived around noon and headed straight to Bugos Islas Cafe, a restaurant house inside a
beautiful restored Spanish-era ancestral home. The historic setting made the experience even
more special but the food was the real highlight. Every dish we had was absolutely delicious
and without a doubt, it was our favorite meal of the entire trip.
After lunch, it was time to check into our hotel.
We stayed at Unwine Boutique Hotel in Dumaguete City.
This time, we decided to stay in the city so we could explore a little bit more
before flying home next day. They'll give us all the good beds. The hotel was absolutely adorable
I love our little nipa style huts and the beautifully landscaped grounds give the whole
place a peaceful tropical vibe. It was a perfect place to relax after a busy day of travel.
Oh, you're done taking a poop? Since our American friends were curious about rooster farm and cock
fighting, we made a quick stop at the local cockpit arena to give them a glimpse of this
unique part of Filipino culture. It was an interesting experience to share something
that's so familiar to us but completely new to them. After that, we squeezed in some
last-minute shopping before treating ourselves to a relaxing massage. While walking around,
we stumbled upon a charming little bookstore. Since Chad has recently gotten into a power of
reading, we asked one of the staff if they knew anyone who offered reading.
As luck would have it, they connected us with a tarot reader who was available that evening.
I can't see it.
All right, so the drawer is here. We found it. Not all the spas here in the Philippines are
like this. But we have a great experience in Vietnam anyway.
I can see now. Thank you for the light.
For our massage, we headed to Cafe Maria for dinner. Unfortunately, Dean wasn't feeling well
after his massage, so he stayed behind to rest. I wish they put some lights on the fountain.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was peaceful. I especially loved that the
restaurant was set inside a beautifully restored Spanish era home. It made the evening feel even
more special. To end the night, we returned to our hotel for our tarot card reading.
I didn't record our session because I wanted to be fully present in the moment,
but Melody was able to capture a part of Crayton's reading.
So, I think that there's going to be a lot of aspects of life that are going to be slowing
down for you, and I think it's specifically because there's somebody in your life that's
not really supposed to be there. I think they're closer than they should be, because the thing is
it's kind of like the snake in the grass that you don't really see coming until they come and bite
you. So, I think that person's kind of already in your life. If somebody comes to mind, I don't
think it's that person because it's specifically for pups. So, for pups, this is usually someone
you don't see, or somebody that may be close enough for you that it could never be them.
I need to go shower my boiled up body. Good night!
Whether you believe in tarot or not, it was definitely
a fun and memorable way to wrap up another amazing day in Bumaguete.
Trying to relax with your ancient alien. Oh, there you are!
All right, it's time to go. We had a great time here in the Philippines.
Thank you so much, Bumaguete and Sacred Heart!
