Coffee! Hi guys, welcome to my channel Living Around and today I am unveiling to you my secret
retreat home. That's right, I had a secret project I have worked on for the past few years and
finally I'm ready to share it with you guys. So come on, I'll give you a quick tour.
I will take you straight to the heart of the retreat. Come follow me.
This here is a huge lake. Okay, not huge but it's the lake that I've built because my husband won't
let me have a water feature at home so I've now dug a huge hole and then now we have a lake and
this is flanked by a few villas. That's my bedroom and then that's my son's bedroom. When my husband
is good he gets to stay with me otherwise he's banished to this guest villa over here
whom we also reserve for friends that treat as well. So I will now take you with me to
over there and I have this incredible plant which I want to share with you. Look at it.
This plant actually I don't know the name of it but look it's variegated. It's kind of
beautiful. You could say this is a half-moon variegation of this unknown plant which is very
commonly used for landscaping and very easy to care for. It also does well if there is no care
for it so if you're looking for a landscaping plant I think this is a good option. And then
I'm gonna show you my next favorite thing here which is the toilet. So what do I like about the
toilet that I have set up is this branch. So this dead branch what has been processed of course you
could see treated with some chemicals and coatings and I think it's a beautiful natural looking
hanger and you could put your toilet paper here and then if you are gonna have to shower you could
hang your clothes and your towels here. And then coming out of the toilet I have a pot of aglaonema
that's here. So aglaonemas are very easygoing plants and they're very happy going too and they
can be in shade or partial shade or sometimes even quite a bit of sun. So if you're looking
for a plant that's easygoing and colorful do consider aglaonemas. And then there is this
daybed I have put right here and well you could sit here and admire the lake and if you kind of
want some privacy during your nap you could do this. And now I'll take you to the rainforest shower.
So if ever you like the shower in the rainforest and so here we are
here and it's open to the sky so it's raining right now you could just stand here and be
showered by the natural rain or of course there's also hot water. There's like this very cute moss
here. I kind of love moss too and it's nice that they could thrive here naturally on their own
without any care because it's constantly wet here. And coming out from that shower is the beginning
of a vertical garden. So as you could see I have used some construction material. These are like
steel bars so then I have also started to put in some vines and when they mature if you could
use your imagination this would be then very very green. Similarly here these are construction
steel bars as well which kind of just made it into an arch shape so and when you put
creeping plants on it they will just follow the frame and make a beautiful romantic arch.
And because we're not coming here every day it's only on some weekends I have planted some very
easygoing plants. This is the Calathea luthier which is really nice large foliage gives you that
tropical scent and also very easygoing. The next easy one is this spider lilies very lush very
green and then some are in bloom right now you could see the white and they're also very easy
going plants. And then I just love walking through these platforms and when your feet's dirty you
could wash them thus. Is there anything here? Yeah I think there's some fishes maybe a shy iguana
and I just love crossing in between these two sides. Sure enough you can get wet if it's raining
like now it is but a little bit of rain can't hurt and this platform is just so magical when
you lie down here at night and you can see the stars or this could be your your yoga platform.
I'm sure this is not how you do yoga but if you imagine doing yoga or exercises there it's a great
spot. And now we go to the living room this is the cozy little living room it's a cozy little place
but what is more spectacular about it is actually what's outside and so this is a wall-less living
room and I love water so I just like to look at the lake all day long and here maybe something I
like to point out is the use of a tree so it's been repurposed as a pillar so it's been treated
and coated again so that it could be more durable. Now we hop over to the kitchen oh wait there's a
little bar here and then there's a half coconut and I'm in the midst of reading Ken Forley Pillars
of the Earth again for the third time because it's such a great book and I always forget the storyline
okay so here we're now heading to the kitchen. Kitchen is pretty basic and then what I really
want to show you is the dining area so here we have a barbecue set facing the lake because
everything we do we want to face the lake and we have a pretty spacious dining area this place is
built for entertainment and gathering around with friends and families and what I like to
point out to you also is this little kind of secret little corner that you could sit in and
have a good intimate chat with another person and if you desire more intimacy you could always
draw the curtain. We actually have built the building around the trees so these are still
living trees that we try not to disturb and so they're here while yeah there's a sink here so
it's designed for people who are not very big to go in and wash the dishes so if you're too
big to get in here it's good because then you don't have to do the dishes. Goodness night has fallen
it's getting late now I think I'll start to hop off to bed well good night and goodbye everyone
oh it's like in a dream this is not bad too
