Well, political temperatures is on the rise in the national capital
amid no let up in the protest against the Chief Election Commissioner,
Gyanesh Kumar, and seeking for his resignation.
Day after its SIR tribunal campaign and the chappal protest
in Bengaluru's Freedom Park, the CJP is now looking
to press through with its Delhi Chalo call to the national capital.
Now, with the demonstrators that are set to march on the 10th
of October, Delhi is now bracing for a massive security challenge.
The railways, which has cancelled mail and express train arrivals
at New Delhi Railway Station and also at Hazrat Nizamuddin between 4
a.m. and 2 p.m., citing fears of severe traffic congestion.
Thousands of police and paramilitary personnel that are also
being mobilized and the capital is now turning into a fortress.
For the proposed Kokoro Janata Party protest
in the national capital on 10th of October,
the Delhi police have put the national capital
on high alert with massive deployment of security
personnel on ground. Let me show you the visuals around.
Now, this is a road which leads to
Jantar Mantar. More than 20,000 to 26,000 Delhi police personnel,
paramilitary and paramilitary
personnel have been deployed across the national capital.
Section 163 of the BNS is strictly
enforced in the New Delhi district prohibiting unauthorized gathering,
procession and roadblock
and the Delhi police have stated that permission have
not been granted for the demonstration
calling the planned protest as illegal.
Meanwhile, from the surveillance angle, face recognition
system. Cameras are installed across key spots
to track approximately 2,800 previously flagged
individuals and multi-layer barricading CCTV network
and drone cameras are actively monitoring
key roads, border and sensitive areas.
The police have also mounted loudspeakers across various
areas to make sure that the announcements are being made loud
and clear, that no permission
has been given and the Delhi police have clearly said
that this protest is illegal because no
permission has been granted by the Delhi police.
With video journalist Amal Das Basak, this is Abhisar
Chiroy Chowdhury for Times Now.
Now the Delhi police has also made its position clear ahead
of the Delhi Chalo call, no permission that has
been granted for the march. So how will the
capital handle any attempt to proceed without authorization?
Let's listen in when it comes to
the Delhi joint CP and who is now outlining
when it comes to the police's stand and the reasons
behind it the request is not permitted it
is denied, no protest is allowed on 10th and 163
BNSS is in operation in New Delhi district
so it is advised that there should not be any breakdown
of the order, there were previous instances, 17 FIRs were filed at a time
and again the CGB kept on
you know flouting the norms, those requests
were not taken by them, do you think this is the reason
because of which the permission has been denied, one
of the reason is that that earlier lawful
directions of police were not followed
and their own undertakings they have not followed it also
so this was also one of the reason why we have denied
the permission, uh there's a request letter
for the metro stations to uh be closed, what
is that ma'am, that our DCP will brief you later
about the law and order arrangement
which we are keeping in place, meanwhile the Indian Railways
which was also cancelled
when it comes to the operations in the New Delhi railway station
and Hazrat Nizamuddin,
which has also triggered sharp reaction from the CJP,
slamming the move ahead of Delhi Chalo March
The CJP has taken aim at the centre,
questioning if the move was triggered by fear of its own citizens.
Let's get you this reaction.
Police has denied the permission today
in the press conference taken by the Delhi police
They said there was no prior permission which was taken by CJP
and they have only given 7 days of notice, not 10 days of notice
What do you want to say?
Are they trying to do something else right now?
Did Ganesh Kumar take permission before deleting 13 crore votes?
Did he take the permission? He did not
What will your next step now after Delhi?
We are going to do a peaceful march to Jantar Mantar
and we'll follow the path of Mahatma Gandhi, that is Satyagraha
And with that, it's a wrap on this edition of Urban Debate.
Thank you very much for watching.
