Привет, guys! My name is Fedor and today we are going to talk about numbers from one to a hundred.
And the way I'm going to explain it to you is not for you to memorize and just to like you know
read it in like five times a day. No, but from understanding I will try to explain it to you
so you can understand how our numbers work. And I think that's going to be more helpful to you
because it's going to stay in your memory for much longer than if you just memorize.
So let's get to the numbers right now. Alright, guys, let's begin. We're going to start with
1 through 10, then 11 through 20, and then from 30 to 100 in three different groups.
And the first one is from 1 to 10. And in this one we cannot go any other way but to memorize,
even though I was talking about understanding. But we have to memorize at least the first step
and then we can build on this knowledge. So 1 will be один.
So letter O sounds as a один. Two is два.
So two is два. Three sounds close to three. It is три.
Four is четыре. So you might hear that last sound sounds as И, so it's not четыре.
So if you say quickly, it's going to be четыре. And also, by the way, guys, it's not
about this topic in particular, but in Russian we are trying to simplify the sounds. We're not
trying to say every single sound as it is, but we're trying to simplify it so that for our
mouth it's going to be easier to pronounce it. So instead of saying один, it requires a lot more
work than to say один, один, один. Look at my mouth, right? Один, один. It's much more movement.
So we're trying to simplify our speech in that way. And that's why we say четыре на четыре.
Because it's just easier. It just flows better. Четыре, четыре. Number five is пять, пять,
пять. Number six is шесть, шесть, шесть, шесть. Seven is семь, семь, семь. Восемь
similar to seven. I mean, eight is similar to seven is восемь, восемь. So you see that
same here and here, the same thing, but it's just восемь, восемь, восемь. Nine is девять,
девять, девять. And just one letter change for number ten is going to be десять,
десять. So from V changes into S. Девять, десять. Nine and ten. Девять, десять.
So that was one through ten. In fact, let me go over that once again,
so you guys can remember. Один, два, три, четыре, пять, шесть, семь, восемь, девять,
десять. That's it for one through ten. And this is from eleven to twenty. It's a long word,
I know, but let me just use an example of the word одиннадцать, which is eleven, to just
explain it to you how it's structured, how it builds this word. So let me pull up this sheet
right here. We see один, right? Один is one. And then we see один over here too. Один,
right? Один. And let me show you this side here. I don't know how to do it well, but okay.
And then we see десять. And then we see десять. Сать, десять. Сать, десять. Sounds
similar, right? So let's just say. And so, once again, один is one. Сать is десять. I believe
it's in the old Russian language. Сать was десять. So this is one, this is ten. But what does
на mean? На means on. On, right? So it's one on ten. One on ten is eleven. One on ten is eleven.
So that's going to be with every single number from eleven to nineteen. It's going to be the
same exact structure. So it's going to be a number on ten. So it's one on ten, two on ten,
three on ten. All right? Let's see what we got there. Let's see what we have here. As you can
see, they all have сать at the end. See this? Сать, сать, сать, сать, сать, сать, сать,
and сать. Even twenty has сать. But that's going to be a little bit different. Let's not
focus on eleven through nineteen for now. And then they all have на, right? So before сать,
they all have на. На, на, на, на, на, etc. And the only thing that is different is the first
number, like one or... is the first part of the word, all right? So let's say eleven. Eleven is
одиннадцать. Один is one. So it's one on ten. I already talked about that. Двенадцать.
ДВЕНАДЦАТЬ is twelve, and ДВЕ would be two.
It's a little bit a change from ДВА. ДВА is two, but ДВЕ is just a slight change.
Then we have ТРИНАДЦАТЬ. ТРИНАДЦАТЬ is thirteen, ТРИ is three.
So ТРИНАДЦАТЬ.
Then we have FOURTEEN.
And we have ЧЕТЫР over here is four.
Remember ЧЕТЫРЕ is four.
This one ЧЕТЫР is going to represent that four in this word.
So ЧЕТЫРНАЯДЦАТЬ.
Then we have ПЯТНАЯДЦАТЬ is fifteen.
ПЯТНАЯДЦАТЬ is five.
Remember ПЯТЬ was five.
Then we have ШЕСТНАЯДЦАТЬ is sixteen.
We have ШЕСТ as six.
ШЕСТНАЯДЦАТЬ.
By the way, you cannot really hear the letter Т in here.
So Т is silent.
So it's just ШЕСТНАЯДЦАТЬ.
ШЕСТНАЯДЦАТЬ. Т is silent.
Then we have СЕМНАЯДЦАТЬ.
СЕМ is seven.
СЕМНАЯДЦАТЬ. Seven on top of ten.
СЕМНАЯДЦАТЬ.
Then we have EIGHTEEN.
ВОСЕМНАЯДЦАТЬ.
ВОСЕМ is eight.
ВОСЕМЬ НА ДЕСЯТЬ.
Eight on ten.
EIGHTEEN.
Then we have ДЕВЯТНАЯДЦАТЬ.
ДЕВЯТ is going to be nine.
So you can see kind of a pattern here, right?
You can see how this works.
And in fact, in English it's the same way.
THIRTEEN.
So TEEN is ten, correct?
Teenagers.
Those who are in their ten years.
From ten to nineteen.
In teens.
FOURTEEN.
So four is number four.
TEEN is ten.
FOURTEEN.
FIFTEEN.
Five.
Ten.
The same kind of concept as in Russian.
As you see.
Right?
So that was from one to nineteen.
And then finally we have TWENTY.
And twenty I'm going to explain on a separate sheet of paper, okay?
Because it doesn't follow the same group as eleven through nineteen.
Let me just explain it on a different sheet of paper.
Alright, this is going to be the next step.
This is twenty.
ДВАДЦАТЬ.
You can see again, right?
САТЬ.
ДЕНЬСЯТЬ.
It's ten.
And then we see ДВА.
It's two.
But we don't have any ON here.
So it's not two on ten.
It's two tens.
So it's like two times ten.
Right?
So it's two tens.
It's going to be twenty.
Ten and ten is twenty.
Correct?
So that's how twenty through ninety is going to work.
And not all of them.
We have some exceptions.
And I'll talk about that, of course.
So we have two tens here.
ДВАДЦАТЬ.
Alright?
Two tens.
Let's see what we've got for the rest of the numbers.
Okay.
In fact, before we go to that,
once we learn twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, etc.,
you can then build numbers like fifty-nine.
Well, in fact, let me explain this first,
and then I'll talk about that.
I'm so sorry.
I'm just jumping ahead.
But let's see what we've got here.
ДВАДЦАТЬ is twenty.
I already talked about that.
Yeah.
And then we have ТРИДЦАТЬ.
ТРИДЦАТЬ.
ТРИ is three.
ЦАТЬ is десять.
So it's three tens.
It's thirty.
ТРИДЦАТЬ.
This word СОРОК does not follow the same rule as the rest of them,
as you can see.
It's just going to be forty.
СОРОК.
For some people, it's going to be even easier.
So it's СОРОК.
СОРОК.
Alright?
Next one is ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ.
ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ.
We have ПЯТЬ is five.
And then ЦАТЬ changes into ДЕСЯТЬ.
You can see over here it's not ЦАТЬ anymore.
It's ДЕСЯТЬ.
And it's even closer to number ten.
See this one right here?
ДЕСЯТЬ.
Then we have ДЕСЯТЬ.
Even closer to ten now.
I don't know why.
It's just the way it is.
So ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ is fifty.
And about the pronunciation a little bit.
I'm saying ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ.
So I'm not saying ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ.
I'm saying Т and Д together in one sound.
ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ.
I'm just taking a little pause.
Instead of saying ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ,
ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ,
I'm saying ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ.
So it's like one letter.
I'm saying letter Т.
ПЯТЬ.
ДЕСЯТ.
I'm just taking a little pause.
ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ.
Alright?
So, ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ, it's not ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ, as you would pronounce, as you would read it,
but it's more of a little pause in between those letters, all right.
Next one is ШЕСТДЕСЯТ, sixty, ШЕСТДЕСЯТ, the same concept about pronunciation
works here too, ШЕСТДЕСЯТ, ШЕСТДЕСЯТ, it's like a clash of two similar
letters Т and Д, they're kind of similar, so we just say ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ, ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ,
and again ШЕСТЬ is six, ДЕСЯТ is ten, same concept, СЕМДЕСЯТ, СЕМ is
seven, ДЕСЯТ is ten, СЕМДЕСЯТ, seventy, СЕМДЕСЯТ, then we have ВОСЕМДЕСЯТ,
ВОСЕМДЕСЯТ, ВОСЕМ is eight, ДЕСЯТ is ten again, ВОСЕМДЕСЯТ, and the last two they
don't really follow the same rule, let's look at NINETEEN, we have ДЕВЯ, which is
kind of ДЕВЯТЬ, NINE, it represents nine, then we have СТО over here, СТО is a
hundred, as you can see over here, СТО hundred, СТО over here too, and I don't
know, I do not really know if that's true or not, but I will give you this kind
of hint of how to remember this one, so all right, let's write it down over here,
so ДЕВЯ is nine, right, then we have СТО is a hundred, then we have НО, НО in
Russian is BUT, and the way I made my students remember that is nine but a
hundred, even though it's nine in the beginning, it's not a hundred, so even
though it's nine, it's not a hundred, so nine but a hundred, all right, so it's
ДЕВЯНОСТО, ДЕВЯ, НО, СТО, ДЕВЯНОСТО, I hope that helps guys, I hope it's gonna be
easier for you to remember it that way, and then finally we have СТО, СТО is just a
hundred, easy, quick, short, СТО, СТО, ok, and let's now look at how we, how we make
a number like 59, 59, right, so let's see, we have, we're just gonna build it
from two parts, just like in English, 59, we need 50, so we've got 50 plus 5, so we
need 50, let's find 50, 50 is ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ, ok, so it's gonna be ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ, you guys
bear with me, I'm not a quick writer, ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ plus nine, where's nine, nine is
right here, ДЕВЯТЬ, ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ plus ДЕВЯТЬ, so that's what, that's what we get, ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ, ДЕВЯТЬ,
ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ, ДЕВЯТЬ, 59 is gonna be ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ, ДЕВЯТЬ, the same works with any other number, with any
other number of ten, like 20, 30, 40, and an individual number like 9, 2, 3, 4, 5,
all right, so let's say number 32 would be ТРИДЦАТЬ ДВА, ТРИДЦАТЬ is 30, ДВА is 2, ТРИДЦАТЬ ДВА, the same
with any other number, and even with a hundred, so you can now, guys, mention
numbers from one all the way to one hundred and ninety-nine, with a
combination of all of these numbers that we just learned, you can use, you can use
them to build two talk-about numbers from one to one hundred and ninety-nine,
later, I'm not sure when, we will cover 200, 300, 400, all the way to a thousand,
and I will touch on million, billion, trillion, quintillion, whatever it is, just
for you to just know how to say them, but that's it for now, we are done for today,
yay, I hope it was helpful, I hope you enjoyed it, and you liked this video, if
you did, share it with your friends, who might be interested in this video, I'm
gonna appreciate that, thank you so much, guys, for watching, and I'll see you next
time, пока-пока!
