AI GeneratedJason from Preston Street Market unboxes and evaluates several jewelry consignments. Using professional testing tools, he identifies a wide range of items, from antique Czech glass and uranium jewelry to high-end 18K gold gemstones and designer costume pieces, while discussing the nuances of material authenticity and the dynamics of global consignments.
Hey everyone, this is Jason with Preston Street Market and I am back with another
round of unboxings. We're going to look at probably a couple today. I have a minute to go through.
So if you are new here, welcome. We do mystery jewelry unboxings. I source jewelry from all over
the world. I also have consignors all over the world. Welcome. I'm glad that you're here. If
you're not new here, then welcome back. And if you were looking for a place to consign your higher
and higher quality jewelry, including gold and silver, please reach out via email.
My email can be found in the description box of this video. Let's roll. This is from a long
term subscriber and friend. I've actually had the pleasure of meeting in person.
Look at that. What a way to start, huh? That's old. Definitely, definitely old. Definitely check.
Beautiful. Almost reminds me of a spiderweb, but definitely is not a spiderweb.
Oh my gosh. Look at this. It's an articulated bicycle.
Oh, that's just crazy. Look, and both wheels turn. Isn't that extraordinary? And my light.
Oh my goodness. Let me get that. All right. I have to kill those lights.
I'm having lighting issues in here. Bad. Yummy uranium.
Unsigned, but that's old. That construction is good. Beautiful condition. Just super,
super cute piece. Oh, that's cool. Like a little baby shell with a pearl.
And she's wondering if maybe that outside is gold or not. Not sure.
Well, where can you be? Let's see what the article has to say.
I don't know. I mean, it's super cute. Look how it's behind that glass. But I just don't know.
No. Not gold, but cute. Not gold, but very cute.
Oh, look how gorgeous. Some cloisonne and pearl. And then she was wondering if maybe the hooks
feel much of anything. Let me just put it on the article and see.
There we go. I'm going to test on the article, but let me look at this real quick.
I'm not seeing any marks on those hooks, but let me test it and see. All right. Yeah,
it looks like the hooks are gold. I'll have to find the marking. And the easiest, again,
a loop, of course, but use your fingernail just gently to kind of feel for that etching.
And then this bottom bead did test as gold as well, but it's really kind of difficult when you
have the pearls. Actually, no, that's not. So that one's not gold. That is not gold.
But then we look here at the hook saying it's 18. Okay, well, now it's just being weird.
And so it's pretty much holding an 18. So we'll check this with acid and then I'll look at it
closer and see because I just don't know. Ooh, 14 carat antique spinning fob. Now that's cool.
You've got a tiger's eye there. I'm not seeing the gold mark, but I will test it
after a while. I love these little boxes. That looks like jade. Oh, so pretty, so pretty. Oh,
look at that glow. So real jade glows. It's beautiful. Icy, icy, icy cold too.
So let's see what carat we are. 10 carat. And see in there it's got a cartouche. So 10 carat
almost reminds me of those shrimp rings, you know, and the shrimp earrings that were
really popular back in the day. All right. 14k posts. All right.
So the earrings themselves, these do not look or feel gold to me at all.
These feel very modern and new. So I'll test them and see. Let's see what this is to say.
Genuine pearl, 14 carat question mark. All right. Little seed pearls. I would say no to gold on
this for sure, but definitely like Victorian era. This guy, I think maybe yes for gold.
The setting looks a little more like gold would on that period. You see what I mean?
I'll test that and see. And the difference here is, yeah, very thin,
but maybe gold filled, but definitely not gold on that one. But I love the seed pearl.
Let's continue. Lots to see. It's a huge bag. All right.
Sorry, y'all. Oh, wow. Look at that. Yeah, this is kind of amazing, huh?
Very different. Oh, and it's got the little rosary inside.
Oh, like a little baby. I don't know. I'm not Catholic, so I'm not sure, but this is adorable.
Super stinking adorable. I don't think it's old, maybe vintage, but super, super cute.
That's interesting. Pebble stone marked 925. Let's check her out. Why not?
Why not? Why not? I seem to really like that last time. Okay. Well, my testing stone is...
Oh, boy. That's interesting, huh? All right. No go on the testing. We've had to move things
several times out of this room because we've had some leaks, so everything is misplaced. But
this feels like sterling. It's hollow, and I like the pebble stone kind of texturing.
Okay. I already like what I'm seeing. Oh. Oh, my. Is this some Niger Brothers?
No. These definitely check. That doesn't say. All right. This is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous,
gorgeous. Beautiful stone there. Habeshan. Definitely check. Definitely very vintage.
Very fun. Ooh. That's cool. That is very cool. Huh. No stamping back here.
I feel like I've seen these earrings before. I just don't remember by whom.
A beautiful brooch there. Some oldie, old, old, old celluloid, carved celluloid,
and some dangles. That's good. Look at that. Beautiful chunk of glass.
No glow. Very, very ornate and beautiful. A lot of details. I can't see anything.
All right. Keep going. Uh-oh. Oh, this has got some information.
Rare Ed Lee brooch, 1947. Okay. Let's take all this out. Ooh. Look at that.
So that's all like givery glass molded and like a satin, and then Ed Lee. Let's see.
There's the Ed Lee mark. Okay. Look at that. How interesting, huh? I love that,
and I love that there's some history and like paper, you know, something there to help identify,
tell a story. Let's see. What is this? Oh, gosh. Look at that. Oh, my word. This is beautiful.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Love that mother-of-pearl safety chain is still there.
Got all that ornate detail around the outside. Probably hear my grandmother. She's walking
back and forth. She is so funny. Sometimes I don't hear her all day, and then sometimes when
I come here to do videos, every five minutes she walks by. Ooh. Okay. This looks like Regency.
I would probably call that Regency for sure. Gorgeous. Love that backing.
All from my dad's family. Oh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, y'all. Just wait. Just freaking wait.
Let me get this right.
Look at this. Look at that breathtaking necklace.
Look how amazing is this. Gorgeous, gorgeous. Definitely check.
Yeah, and some of these are, this might be Niger. I don't know. Look, all that's uranium.
This is fantastic. Look at all the enameling. Gosh, look at that.
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. I think I love it.
All right. Gold question mark. Love the little box. Oh, yeah. It's definitely gold.
This is a morning brooch, and look, there's hair. That's hair. Oh, look how far that pin sticks out.
Definitely an antique. Definitely a weapon, but look at all that hair.
She's precious. I wish this were an old box because I would absolutely sell it,
but it will hold that beautiful piece. That's stunning.
Sorry, I didn't realize how close we were.
Look at all that stacked filigree, blue rhinestone. Oh, man. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.
Probably 1930s, maybe.
Okay, St. John. Signed St. John. Let's see. Oh, these are fancy schmancy.
Signed there and there. Signed St. John.
Gorgeous.
You have all that enameling signed there. Gorgeous earrings by St. John.
Signed St. John there. Oh, those are pretty.
Now, those are exquisite. Look at that. Look at that. Yum. Those look very cool.
Those are fun.
Got it. Oh, look. Very good. These are precious. Look at that. These are probably Czech.
Yeah, definitely Czech. Gorgeous, gorgeous, and I even love the little card.
I think that's adorable. Super cute. Uranium, glass, brass, clip-on closure.
Let's see. What is this? She's old. Czech. Couldn't tell by that closure,
but what's super cool is look at that. It has like a dangle. That is amazing. Okay, so
yeah, there we are. All right, we've got UG. Beautiful, beautiful UGs.
Come on, ma'am. Cooperate, please. There we go. Gorgeous, gorgeous beads.
Lots of antiques so far.
Oh, and this look. This box says, wow. Oh, we've got to look at this together.
Signed Richard Hunt. Gorgeous art nouveau. Brass, compact, enamel powder, rouge, lipstick,
still intact. Great packing job. Super, super nouveau. Look at that. That's amazing.
Ah, that's amazing. Oh, that's fantastic. I love this. And then there's some information here.
Very cool. Huh? Such a cool piece. What a cool freaking unboxing with that and
what a great way to start the video. Stand by as I prepare number two.
All right. Consignment number two is a little different. This is a small consignment,
but it is all gold jewelry. One, two, three, four, five, six pieces. So let's look at them.
Delicious. Look at that. That's a ruby and probably diamond. Yeah, definitely a ruby.
And diamonds. So these will be the 18K. You can tell with that darker. The higher the carrot,
the sort of darker the gold gets. Look how gorgeous. Love those. Okay. This is that 18.
My eyes are probably now 750. Yep. So that's 18. Genuine pearls. Oh, and it's got an A.
Initial A, which I'm sure is also going to be gold as well. That's beautiful.
Really, really nice piece.
Let's see what this one is. Oh, okay. Oh, these are gorgeous dangles. Look at that.
Emerald and diamond on and look at the, the, these are not, these are from,
I don't want to say it wrong there. These are not made in the U.S.
These are made very high quality. Not saying that the U.S. hasn't produced high quality,
but these are not from the U.S. These are, these were designed and made for her.
Look how gorgeous. Beautiful. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. We'll take them.
Oh, it's missing a diamond. Yeah, it's missing a diamond. Let me see if it's in here.
No. It's missing a diamond right there. It stinks. Let's see who made this.
This might be custom also. I'm not sure. I saw you somewhere. Where'd you go?
Come back here you.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I saw one and then didn't. I know I saw, it looks like Forbes.
Very lightly etched. Yeah, we'll have to come back. I know that we all saw it together for
a moment, but it's here. It is signed. It's look.
So 18 carat. It goes.
F.E.P.K.O. OK, there we go. So we are missing a little stone, unfortunately, which stinks.
So I'm going to I'm going to actually pause one moment and make sure that a setting didn't fall
out somewhere here on my mat. OK. All right. No such luck, but I'll let the consignor know
and it may she may be aware of it. I don't know. I'm going to let her know. She'll see this, too.
Hello, pretty little Tahitian pearl pendant. I'm sure those are diamonds.
There's some consignor has great taste and 18 carat. Beautiful, beautiful Tahitian pearl.
And I'm sure those are all going to be diamonds.
OK.
This one is gorgeous. Look at that gorgeous emerald. I'm thinking that's an emerald.
Yes. Emerald and diamond on white gold.
And 14 carat. All right. 14 carat white gold, emerald and diamond.
Beauties. Very elegant.
Gorgeous. All right. That was fun. We don't ever really have the all gold smaller one.
So this was a different experience. So stand by and let me get the next one ready.
All right. Our third consignor is a regular. Very, very sweet consignor. All of all of my
consignors are sweet. I've been very, very, very blessed. It's an enormous risk, of course.
I've taken consignment for more than 15 years locally, and I know most everybody that consigns
with me, but it's super risky when you start opening it up to strangers from YouTube. So
took me a long time to get OK with it. And now that I am OK with it, I'm so glad that
I made that decision. So this is consignor number three.
And her daughter is a beautiful artist. Oh, my gosh. She made me the most amazing painting.
This is an oldie. An oldie and a goodie.
I don't think there's any glow there, but that's still a gorgeous stacked piece.
It's the second one. Isn't that funny how they all kind of are very similar,
even though these are people from completely different parts of the
United States. So, so crazy how that happens.
Do I see what I think I see? Could it be? Oh, these are gorge. Beautiful. These are beautiful
heavy. Milk glass earrings. My goodness, those are huge. This. OK. This is very odd.
This is missing a link. I don't know. So this is Juliana. Definitely is Juliana.
Supposed to be five link, but this is a four link. And I don't know if maybe. I don't know.
But I would imagine, you know, that could very easily go back into its place. But then
that doesn't explain this. I don't know. This is an unexplained piece, but it's a gorgeous one.
And this is a bracelet that I don't think I've ever seen before. And these earrings, I mean,
these are they're actually quite heavy, so quite substantial. So interesting there. I have to do
some do some digging. Look at that lucite. Got lucite, maybe some organic material.
And oh, Haskell. Miriam Haskell. And that's the vintage Miriam Haskell. Well, it's all vintage,
but this is good Miriam Haskell. Let's be honest, it's not always the prettiest.
And she lives in New Mexico, so she gets a lot of beautiful native pieces.
So there's one gorgeous turquoise. I love those little caviar sort of bumps there.
These look European. Yeah, they are. I'm also thinking that it's got to be gold too.
Thinking that it's got to be genuine gold. Let's see. So you can kind of see the
hallmark there. See that? Of course, the 925. I am just almost certain that that's got to be
some gold around there. I was thinking Lagos when I first saw these,
but I'm just not sure. And I'm not sure if those are... I don't know. I'm gonna have to research.
Get the gem tester out and see what we can do. But yeah, these are definitely... I think
they're Italian. These look like Italian paddles to me. So that's what I'm gonna go with for now
until I find otherwise. ST925. All right. Okay. Very sort of deco looking. Very pretty.
Oh. Oh, I know an old lady named Jill who would love this. Oh, look at the little alligator.
He's a sterling gold vermeil. Italy 925. How stinking sweet.
Oh, it's my size too. Look how cute is he? Now, some of the vermeil is, you know, coming off,
but that's okay. He is cute. And it even feels good. Like, it feels good on the hand. Interesting.
Now, this sucker is super heavy. And that's probably a venturine, I would imagine.
This is a really nice ring. Who is this by? NP. NP. We'll have to look that up. And that's
probably a size nine and a half or 10. I'm so puffy, y'all. All right. Wait, what does that
say? Sterling silver diamond. Okay. Ah, here we are. Yeah. I would probably believe that. Yeah.
I'm sure that those are diamonds. And then we have a little pink sapphire. Yep. Genuine.
And then looks like we have some amber. Some amber sterling earrings. Gorgeous. Yummy,
yummy, yummy. She always gets really interesting things. And everybody does, but she gets some
stuff. It just, there's several consignments that we just never know what they're going to get next.
Look at the castle. Art of Japan. And you've got the art glass, the gold textured gold tone spacers.
Wow. How fantastic is that? Oh, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
Little cameo. Shell carved. Might be gold. Might be gold filled. All right. Not, I'm not seeing
a marker right away. So it'll be gold or gold filled, but either way, it's a gorgeous shell
carved cameo, which is great. Look at that. Oh, that's Marbella. Look at that.
So like a Marbella Peking glass ring. Now that is something that if you're a costume collector,
this is going to mean a lot. This is super cool. Look at that. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent.
