AI GeneratedThe speaker argues that Democratic leadership, specifically Senator Chuck Schumer, is sabotaging Angie Nixon, a Democratic Socialist candidate for the U.S. Senate in Florida. Despite her primary victory and viability in polls, the speaker claims she is being denied funding due to her left-wing values and pro-Palestine stance, urging grassroots support to counter this ideological blockade.
Ladies and gentlemen, I regret to inform you that it appears like Chuck Schumer and Democratic
leaders in the Senate are sabotaging Angie Nixon. So, Angie Nixon had a massive win over Vindman
in the primary in Florida and it was viewed as like a shock because Vindman spent a tremendous
amount of money on the primary and ended up losing. It was viewed as like a foregone conclusion that
he would win, but Angie Nixon took him down and took him down pretty freaking handily.
If I do say so myself, okay, so you have a Black female Democratic Socialist who's the standard
bearer, who's the Democratic Senate nominee in Florida in a blue wave year, okay? Now,
this wasn't the only surprise that she gave us because in the aftermath of her winning the
primary, I've seen personally at least two polls that had her dead tied with her Republican opponent,
Moody, I believe. And by the way, Moody has just been outed as partaking in the
scheme to steal 10 million dollars from children's health care to give it to Republicans.
Rhonda Santas is involved in this. It's a big deal in Florida, okay? So, two polls show her tied.
Her opponent is a ******* criminal. She's already outperformed expectations in the primary.
She's also, on the charisma meter, she's shattering that ----. She's got charisma for days. She's just
a phenomenal candidate, okay? So, she went on Simone Sanders and Eugene's podcast here and
listen to what she describes because this is infuriating. Here we go.
I know what it is. I know that initially no one was going to really invest in this state.
And so, I was still able to win being out from race around 18 to 1 in this primary.
And so, I'm going to work my butt off. And that's all I know. I was a single mom for 12 years. I
know how to make a dollar stretch. Clearly, I knew how to make a million stretch to 18.
And so, again, I am going to do what I can with what I have. We are actively fundraising. I'm
super excited. I have a fundraiser in New York on Thursday. We're traveling to New York to have
conversations with folks as well as to do a media blitz to let people know that we are working down
here, that this race is winnable. And I'm gonna continue to have people that push the DS to do
the right thing. Look, if people claim to care about black people, particularly black women,
knowing that we are actually both black men and women, we are the most consistent
members of the Democratic Party that always show up.
Look, the state of Florida, we have the second largest black population in this country.
And so, they need to put some respect on our names. And so, what that looks like is go ahead
and investing in this state. I am driving up turnout for everyone up and down the ballot.
And so, folks should invest in me. This is what a democracy looks like,
a working class black woman who was able to pull herself up by bootstraps that she did not even
have, right, as a single mom. And I am now a viable candidate for United States Senate.
That is what those big greedy corporations and billionaires fear.
Now, by the way, Bernie Sanders just announced, I believe it was today,
he's going to use his $23 million war chest to help Angie Nixon, okay?
But there's a reason Bernie is sort of front and center in trying to do this now,
is directly because of what she's about to tell you. Listen to this.
That more working class people pulling themselves up by bootstraps that they don't have
that are actually going into positions of power. And so, I am causing people to have hope again,
getting people excited. And I'm going to continue all the way through to the
finish line and even after this race.
So, Angie, I have one more question on this. I just want to directly ask,
did you ask the DSCC for money? And if so, what did they say?
I did ask the DS for money. And when I did speak with Senator Schumer on the phone,
and it was basically, we will see.
Okay.
Okay, I'm just, what? You know what?
I think I'm a little gooped.
I'm not shocked though, Eugene, are you shocked that he told her we will see?
I'm not shocked. I think that-
He's going to look at it, that's what we're saying,
that he's going to look into it, so yeah.
I'm not surprised. I do think I'm a little shocked. And the reason I say that is because
what I have heard from national Democrats representative for years,
is that they need to run everywhere, right? And whether that means putting up candidates
everywhere or giving money and investing everywhere.
I'll tell you exactly what's going on here. She's a black woman. She's a democratic socialist.
She's pro-Palestine and she's critical of the genocide Israel's committing.
That's it. That says it all.
God forbid, you're a black woman, a democratic socialist.
You're critical of the genocide.
Sorry, Chuck Schumer, he can't find any money. He can't find any money to help you out.
Now, by the way, if you want to add insult to injury,
I just saw the other day Schumer greenlit some money going into the Mississippi race.
I'm not saying leave out the Mississippi race to dry, okay?
But the Mississippi race is less winnable than the Florida race, less winnable.
But Schumer was like, oh, I'll send some money to the Mississippi race.
Now, by the way, I think he's trying to cover his ass
because the candidate running in Mississippi is a black man.
So he's trying to protect himself from criticisms of racism.
But what remains, what remains is a democratic socialist
who's pro-Palestine and critical of Israel's genocide, okay?
She would prove if Angie Nixon were to win, you need to understand,
it would shatter the worldview of every pro-corporate,
so-called centrist Democrat in this country.
It would show the idea that you have to run to the right
and you have to become Diet Maga in order to win in red states.
That's total horse ----.
You don't need to run to the right.
You don't need to compromise on your values.
You don't need to meet Trump halfway.
You don't need to act more like a Republican and vote more like a Republican.
It would prove you can actually represent left-wing values,
represent equality and justice and freedom and empathy,
and you can win in red states.
And I genuinely believe to people like Chuck Schumer,
Abdul's race seems kind of existential.
Angie Nixon's race seems kind of existential.
He was kind of strong-armed, I think,
into supporting Abdul to one extent or another.
Angie, they feel like, ****, we could just let it,
we could just let that race go.
I mean, Bakari Sellers got himself in a lot of ----
because he said, oh, I'm happy Angie Nixon won
because now we're not going to waste a lot of money in Florida
where maybe we otherwise would have if it was Vindman was the candidate.
In other words, Vindman's more electable
and we would have wasted money in the Florida race.
Now we won't waste it there.
Excuse me, Eugene is 100% right here.
We need to actually get back to this idea of a 50-state strategy.
How is that not proven to you in this moment
where Donald J. Trump has ruined absolutely everything
and you got Democrats who are competitive in ******* Kansas.
In Kansas, you got an independent who would caucus with the Democrats
who's doing well in Nebraska.
You got Iowa is on the table.
You got states that Democrats had basically ******* written off
and now they're right back.
Why?
Because we have a pedophile terrorist president
who is carpet bombing little girls,
who is waging illegal wars of aggression,
stealing natural resources,
putting his name on every single ******* building you can imagine,
kicking 18 million people off their healthcare
and people are sick of it.
People are going, what the ****?
It's a worse time to be a worker
than it's ever been in US history right now.
Okay, people feel worse about the economy
than during the great recession
and the middle of the pandemic right now.
So everything's on the table.
Act like it.
Act like everything's on the table.
But like I said, don't get it twisted y'all.
This 100% is ideological.
If Vindman won, they would be dumping money into Florida.
Believe you me, this is ideological, okay?
So you guys got to make up the difference, right?
So first of all, I would say call Chuck Schumer,
call his office and be like,
excuse you, you better start sending some money.
Like I said, Bernie's opening up his $23 million war chest
to help out Angie Nixon.
Grassroots donors are helping out.
You better call Chuck Schumer and say,
you better send some of that ******* money.
Say it nicely, but say,
you better send some of that money.
That's crazy if you don't do that.
Like this is a really big moment, right?
So I would do that.
I would also just donate directly to her.
You know, proud to say that me and Crystal
donated in the primary to her.
I think we maxed to her in the primary.
She was on KKF during the primary.
I mean, this is it, man.
This is the moment.
Let's ******* do it.
Let's do it.
And if she, oh my God, if she were to win,
oh my days, oh my days.
Did you guys see what Hassan said?
Hassan said that if he,
if Angie Nixon and Abdul win,
Hassan said,
I'll dye my hair platinum blonde,
to which I said,
all right, you got to start paying me royalty checks
because first I did the suit,
then he did the suit,
then I did the hair.
Now he's going to do the hair.
Next, he's got to marry a really hot older woman.
I mean, come on, man.
If Angie wins, oh my God,
can you imagine how good that would feel?
Oh my days, oh my days.
Oh, be so good.
So call Chuck Schumer,
let him know what's up.
I'm telling you, man,
they view it as existential for the centrist,
new Democrat,
corporate Democrat ideology
for the diet MAGA ideology.
And the bottom line is,
the Democratic caucus is only as good
as our most conservative member
because they could just block whatever progress
the left flank wants.
So, but as soon as people like Angie Nixon
start winning in ******* red states,
that blows up their whole conception
of what politics is.
And what you learn is,
no, you actually,
it's actually easier to win
if you represent,
universal healthcare,
and free college,
and a living wage,
and unions for all,
and taxing the rich,
and redistributing to working people,
and paid vacation time by law,
and ending the wars,
and ending the genocide.
Like that is popular stuff.
And you don't need to be a left winger
to realize that.
Those are like moderate positions
according to the polls.
So perhaps we could actually win
in red states as well.
We just need,
at least some amount of funding
to make that possible.
So Chuck Schumer better pay up
and you guys should donate directly
to Angie Nixon.
She's the real deal.
And they're trying to sabotage her right now.
And meanwhile,
it should be the opposite.
They should be funding her campaign
almost more than any other one.
Because if we win that one,
oh my days,
it would be,
it would just be a massive wake-up call
for this entire country.
