and share practical strategies to help you reclaim your power and take back control.
Stay tuned to discover why your time is too precious to waste on empty promises.
Before we dive in, I want to quickly mention our previous video on the sunk cost fallacy.
If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend checking it out.
It's a crucial concept that ties directly into today's topic.
You can find the link below.
Today's episode builds on these ideas,
offering practical advice on recognizing when it's time to let go and how to do it.
By the end of this video,
you'll have a comprehensive understanding of this important life skill.
So let's get started on this journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
First, recognizing manipulation.
Have you ever been in a situation where someone's words didn't match their actions?
Maybe it was a boss who promised you a promotion but never followed through,
or a partner who vowed to change but continued to treat you poorly.
If so, you might be dealing with manipulation.
Manipulators are masters of making promises they have no intention of keeping.
They'll say whatever it takes to keep you around without any regard for the truth.
And the sad thing is, it's easy to get caught up in their web of lies.
But here's the thing, words are cheap.
Anyone can make a promise, but it's the actions that matter.
It's time to stop taking people at their word.
Instead, start paying attention to their actions.
Are they actually delivering on their promises, or are they just talking the talk?
I've learned this lesson the hard way.
I've had people profess their love and affection for me, only to treat me poorly.
But I've also learned that true love and respect are shown through actions, not just words.
This principle applies to all relationships, whether personal or professional.
Don't just take someone's word for it.
Evaluate them based on their actions.
Are they following through on their commitments?
Are they showing up when it counts?
Or are they just making empty promises?
The world can be a tough place, and not everyone has the best intentions.
But that's why it's so important to be aware of manipulation
and to prioritise actions over promises.
By doing so, you'll be better equipped to spot the red flags
and avoid getting caught up in toxic relationships.
So, the next time someone makes a promise, don't just take their word for it.
Watch their actions.
Do they align with their words, or are they just talking the talk?
Remember, true love, respect and loyalty are shown through actions, not just words.
Second, valuing yourself.
Don't sell yourself short.
Have you ever noticed how people tend to take things for granted when they come easily?
This is true in both our personal and professional lives.
If you're always available and willing to put in the effort,
others may start to undervalue you.
Take the case of my friend, for example.
He was so loyal to his company that he stuck around
even when they consistently broke their promises and failed to meet his needs.
His boss took advantage of his loyalty, knowing that he wouldn't leave.
And you know what?
This behaviour continued for years without any consequences.
It's time to start valuing yourself and what you deserve.
In relationships, don't make it too easy for others to get your attention and affection.
Make them earn it.
This is especially important when it comes to romantic relationships.
Ensure that the person you're with proves themselves worthy of being with you.
Now, I'm all for equality between men and women.
But in our quest for equality, we've created a culture where
some men think they don't have to put in any effort to be in a relationship.
They might think, I don't have to do anything and I'll still get what I want.
And that's just not true equality.
If you make it too easy for someone to be in a relationship with you
without putting in any effort, you're essentially giving them power over you.
And that's not healthy.
You need to maintain standards and make sure that the person you're with
respects and appreciates you.
Making someone prove themselves to you through their actions
is a form of self-respect and self-valuation.
It's saying, I'm worth it and I deserve to be treated with respect and care.
So don't sell yourself short.
Value yourself and what you deserve.
You know what's more valuable than money?
Time.
Your time is the most precious resource you have and it's essential to use it wisely.
Think about it.
Time is the one thing we can never get back.
Once it's gone, it's gone forever.
So why waste your time on people who don't deserve it?
Whether it's a toxic boss, a manipulative partner
or a friend who's always draining your energy,
it's time to re-evaluate the company you keep.
Remember, you have the power to choose who you surround yourself with.
Toxic people often try to make you believe that you can't do any better.
They'll tell you that you're lucky to have them
and that you'll never find someone or something better.
But that's just a lie.
There are billions of people in this world and countless opportunities waiting for you.
You deserve better and you're capable of achieving better.
It's time to take control of your life and make a change.
You don't have to stay in a situation that's making you miserable.
You don't have to settle for a job that's unfulfilling or a relationship that's toxic.
You have the power to create the life you want
and it starts with valuing your time and energy.
When you start to see money as a form of energy,
you'll realise that your situation doesn't have to be as difficult as it seems.
You have the power to create abundance and prosperity in your life
and it starts with making conscious choices about how you spend your time and energy.
So don't let anyone make you believe that you're stuck or that you can't do better.
You are capable of achieving greatness and it's time to start believing in yourself.
Break free from limiting beliefs and start creating the life you truly desire.
It's time to take a stand and stop letting others dictate how you feel about yourself.
You have the power to change your situation and it starts with recognising your worth.
You've given others the power to bring you down but it's time to take it back.
Here's a secret.
Those people or companies that are trying to make you feel small and insignificant,
they need you more than you need them.
The company needs your skills, your talent and your dedication.
The toxic person needs your love, your attention and your energy.
Without you, they're nothing.
When they tell you that you can't do any better, they're not talking about you.
They're talking about themselves.
They're projecting their own fears, doubts and limitations onto you.
The truth is, you're an amazing individual with so much to offer.
You're a rock star employee, a loving partner and a talented individual.
Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.
Think about it.
If you left that company or ended that toxic relationship,
would they be able to find someone just like you?
Probably not.
You're unique and your worth is invaluable.
They're trying to keep you around because they know they can't replace you.
So, don't let them make you feel like you're not enough.
You are enough and you deserve to be treated with respect, kindness and compassion.
You deserve to be valued and appreciated for who you are.
So, take a deep breath, stand up straight and remember your worth.
Whether it's a job or a romantic relationship,
it's essential to remember that any relationship should add value to your life,
not take away from it.
If you find yourself constantly drained, stressed or unhappy,
it's time to take a step back and re-evaluate.
Let's take my friend's situation for example.
He's been working non-stop for his company,
sacrificing his relationships with friends and family.
He's become miserable and his relationships are suffering.
The worst part, he's not even earning enough to compensate
for the toll it's taking on his personal life.
This is a clear sign that the relationship is not serving him well.
A job should provide financial stability
but it shouldn't come at the cost of your personal life and relationships.
If you find yourself constantly choosing between work and loved ones,
it's time to re-evaluate your priorities.
In personal relationships,
it's crucial to listen to the advice of those who care about you.
If your family and friends are warning you about a potentially toxic partner
and you notice red flags yourself, don't ignore them.
Choosing a partner over your loved ones can be a grave mistake,
especially if you have a supportive and loving family.
Once a toxic person isolates you from your support system,
you become vulnerable to their control.
They may use your lack of connections against you,
making it harder for you to leave.
Don't let this happen to you.
Prioritise your relationships with loved ones
and don't let anyone come between you.
It's time to take a step back and remember that you deserve better.
You deserve a job that supports your life, not controls it.
You deserve a partner who loves and respects you,
not someone who tries to isolate and control you.
Don't settle for anything less.
We've all heard the saying,
learn from others' mistakes.
And when it comes to toxic relationships,
this couldn't be more true.
I've spoken to friends, colleagues and acquaintances
who have made the mistake of choosing a toxic partner over their loved ones.
And without exception,
they've all described it as the worst decision of their lives.
These individuals have shared with me the trauma and pain
they've experienced at the hands of their toxic partner.
The abuse, the manipulation, the isolation.
It's a nightmare that's hard to escape.
And the worst part, they often have no one to turn to,
no support system to help them through the tough times.
They had cut off their family and friends,
leaving them alone and vulnerable.
So what can we learn from these experiences?
First and foremost, it's essential to recognise that sometimes
the people who love us can see things more clearly than we can.
They may be able to spot the warning signs of a toxic relationship before we do.
And when they express their concerns, it's crucial that we listen.
I've seen it time and time again.
Loved ones' concerns are often valid.
If multiple people are expressing the same concerns,
it's likely that there's truth to them.
So trust in their judgment.
They may be able to see things that you're not,
simply because they're not as emotionally invested in the relationship.
So what can you do to avoid making the same mistakes?
First, pay attention to the red flags.
If your loved ones are expressing concerns, don't ignore them.
Take their concerns seriously and do your research.
Look into the warning signs of a toxic relationship
and see if any of them apply to your situation.
Ultimately, it's essential to prioritise your wellbeing.
If you're in a relationship that's causing you harm, it's time to take action.
Don't be afraid to seek help, whether it's from a therapist,
a support group or a trusted friend or family member.
You deserve to be happy and healthy, and it's never too late to make a change.
You know what's amazing?
You have the power to change your mind and your path in life.
You're not stuck on a one-way street,
obligated to continue on a journey that no longer serves you.
If you're feeling unfulfilled in your job or field, it's okay to pivot and try something new.
It's never too late to change direction and explore new opportunities.
Your journey in life doesn't have to be a straight line.
It's okay to take detours, try new things and explore different paths
until you find what truly resonates with you.
In fact, this is often the best way to discover your true passions and interests.
By being open to change and new experiences,
you can continue to grow and evolve as a person.
Tony Robbins is spot on when he says that humans become unhappy and depressed
when they stop progressing in life.
Progress is what makes us happy.
It's what drives us to keep moving forward,
to keep pushing ourselves to be better and to achieve our goals.
Even people who have achieved great success and wealth
can become miserable if they stop growing and challenging themselves.
When you feel stuck in a situation because it's what you've always known
or what you've been taught, you'll likely become miserable.
This is because you're not aligned with your true desires and you're not progressing.
You're not growing, you're not learning and you're not challenging yourself.
It's essential to recognise when something isn't working for you
and have the courage to make a change.
So don't be afraid to take the leap and try something new.
Don't be afraid to change your mind and pursue a different path.
Remember, it's okay to not have it all figured out.
It's okay to take your time and explore different options
and it's okay to make mistakes.
The most important thing is that you're moving forward, growing and learning.
Once you've decided to leave a situation that's no longer serving you,
it's essential to plan your exit strategy.
This will help you make a smooth transition and avoid any potential pitfalls.
If you're leaving a company,
start searching for another job or consider taking time off if that's feasible.
In a relationship, think about the practical aspects of leaving.
Do you need financial support?
Can family members or friends help you?
Make a concrete plan to ensure you're prepared for the next chapter of your life.
Once you've closed that door, don't open it again.
To manifest the partner or job you want, you need to let go of what's not serving you.
If your current situation isn't what you want, but you're holding on to it for comfort,
you must have faith and let go.
I strongly believe that if you don't believe in God, believe in yourself.
Whether it's God, the universe or something else, I believe there's a bigger plan.
The things we ask for are often insignificant compared to the grand plan that's in store for us.
We can have incredible things,
but we often don't attract them because we don't believe we can have them.
It's essential to have faith in yourself and the universe.
Believe that you deserve something better and that it's on its way to you.
Don't settle for a situation that's not making you happy,
and don't be afraid to let go of what's holding you back.
Remember, the universe has your back and it's always working in your favour.
So take a deep breath, have faith and trust that everything will work out for your highest good.
As you let go of the unwanted elements in your life,
you'll start to uncover your true purpose.
It's like a veil has been lifted and you can finally see what's meant for you.
Miracles start to happen and you begin to experience a sense of alignment and fulfilment.
This is because you've developed faith in yourself and in a higher power,
and you're no longer afraid to take risks.
But here's the thing, sometimes you need to get uncomfortable.
When you're transitioning from your old reality to a new one,
it can be chaotic and overwhelming.
It's not going to be amazing from the start and that's okay.
You need to accept that this is a normal part of the process.
But here's the good news, you've survived worse.
You've made it through tough times before and you can do it again.
And this time, you have something you didn't have before.
A plan and wisdom.
You've learned from your experiences and you're equipped with the tools you need
to navigate this new chapter of your life.
And don't worry if you think it's too late to make a change.
Whether you're 20, 30, 40 or 50, it's never too late to start fresh and pursue your dreams.
Your age is just a number and it's not a reflection of your potential.
You have the power to create the life you want no matter what your circumstances.
So, take a deep breath and trust that everything is going to work out for your highest good.
You're on the verge of a new chapter in your life and it's going to be amazing.
You just have to be willing to take the leap and trust in yourself and the universe.
