Black Diamond C4 Camalots | Outdoor 2018

Hi, I'm Colin Powick, the Climbing Category Director here at Black Diamond, here at the Outdoor Trade Show in ISPO in Germany. Super excited to show you guys our new C4 Camelots. Our original Camelots came out in 2004, so it's a long time coming, and this is a really nice evolution of the product. We kept the same geometry, the same range, the same cam angle. Basically, we just took some weight out. These guys are 10% lighter than the previous generation, with a couple of cool features. we have a new tread pattern on the lobes we have variable stiffness stems so all the all the cam heads are about the same when you wobble them so this guy has a a thinner plastic tube than this guy which has a thicker plastic tube to make it stiffer the coolest feature on the big guys on the four five and six is this trigger keeper that uses little wire gates to keep the cam retracted and then you can just boom spring load and good to go super super cool we also looked at the slings because we have some duplicate colors we always have in the line so two purple cams but one has a black stripe which differentiates it when it's sitting on your harness from the big guy and that's the same through the whole range we also tuck the tags away in here to get them out of the way from getting hung up on carabiners and shorten up this tack to make this this sling not so stiff so a bunch of little features across took a lot of the weight out of the lobes to make these 10% lighter all our ultralight cams are still lighter still than these 17% lighter but these are 10% lighter than the current ones so the new Camelot C4s by Black Diamond available January 1st 2019 price range from 65 to 120 euros
