There is something so irresistible about a subtle berry lip done right with glowy skin.
It's very effortless, it's very timeless, it's very elegant. And so today I just wanted to play
with makeup, try some new products, some of which really surprised me, and show you how I get more
of a natural look with a bold lip. As a professional makeup artist, I know a lot of women struggle with
wearing a bold lip and having it look over the top, and also a lot of women really want to get
that natural dewy skin look that doesn't look like makeup, and I'm going to show you both in today's
video, while at the same time testing a bunch of new and exciting launches that just came out at
Sephora. So if you're interested in any of that, keep on watching. Since I'm going for a glowy look
today, I want my skin to look plump and juicy and hydrated, so I'm going in with my Ilia Base Face
Milk. I just really love this stuff, honestly. This is not a greasy formula at all. This will melt into
your skin and give you very long-lasting hydration, and obviously it sits well under makeup. My biggest
pet peeve is when skincare products bunch up under makeup. I've literally never had that issue with
this stuff. This always just looks so good under my makeup. Anything I apply on top of this face
milk just melts right into the skin like butter. Let me just show you. I'm going into the Milk
Hydro Grip Gel Tint. This is one of my all-time favorite skin tints. It is so beautiful. I'm just
going to put a little bit on my face, and then this is my signature technique to get a really natural smooth
finish. I just take a spatula brush. I'm going to link this exact one down below, as well as everything
I'm talking about in today's video. So if you're curious what I'm using, just check out the description box.
But I just like to spread that tint out evenly using a spatula brush first. If you go in with
your foundation brush straight away after applying it on your face, you're probably going to notice
that it gets a little bit patchy, and that's because when you pounce your foundation brush
on top of foundation that's just kind of applied like this, it's going to distribute itself on your
brush in a way that is splotchy, and that is going to translate across the entire face. So I just like
to take a couple seconds just to smooth everything out before I blend with my foundation brush, and
then once I've smoothed everything out, I'm going in with my foundation brush. This one is by Anissa.
This one is so good because it's dual-ended. I have fallen in love with these brushes, you guys.
Their brushes are so high quality. Again, I will link these down below. I honestly feel like smoothing
the foundation out with a spatula brush before makes the blending process a lot quicker and a
lot easier as well. What I love about this skin tint is it truly looks like I'm not wearing makeup.
My skin has a beautiful glowy finish to it, and it looks perfected, but not at all heavy. And again,
this just blends so easily. This is definitely one of my favorite skin tints. It has been one of my
skin tints for many years. I've done videos about my top favorite skin tints if you want to check
them out. Spoiler alert, this one is in a few of them, so I'll put that on the screen if you want
to check it out. But this has just been a tried and true favorite of mine for a while. When it
comes to complexion, like, it just looks so natural. Since we're playing around with some
really pretty berry tones later, I want my under eye to look really nice and bright and slightly
pink. So I'm going in with my Kosas Revealer Extra Bright Corrector. I'm using the shade Magic,
and I'm just applying a little tiny bit of that underneath my eye where I have a bit of
discoloration. Less is really more here. You don't want to overdo this. This corrector is
actually pretty pigmented. If you have fair skin and you struggle with finding a good color
corrector, I really recommend this one. A lot of them can be too dark and too dry, and this is
neither of those things. This is one of the few color correctors that I actually continue to reach
for, so I do really recommend it. This one honestly works really well mixed into your concealer as
well for a little extra brightness. But I think we're going to leave it at that today. Immediately
brightened my under eyes, but not too much that it looks unnatural. Okay, so I'm giving this
concealer another shot because initially when I tried it, I just remember not liking it, but it's
been a little while and I don't remember why I didn't like it. So I just want to try it again,
and it's really weird because this is one of my favorite brands. This is the Westman Atelier Vital
Skincare Concealer, and I'm actually just going to put a little bit of this on the back of my hand
because I don't want to go right into the under eye area because I want my under eyes to look
really light and natural and not heavy. So I've just got on the back of my hand. I'm going to
pick up my Anisa concealer brush, the one that I used to apply that corrector, and I'm just going
to coat my bristles in a light layer of that concealer, and then I'm going to go ahead and
tap it underneath my eyes. I'm hoping this method of applying it is going to give me a better finish
than last time because I just remember it wasn't a fan. That's actually applying really nice,
and it doesn't feel heavy. It actually just applied kind of like a serum, which feels really
good. You never know with makeup. You can apply it one way one day and then another way another
and have a completely different experience. I'm also going to apply a little bit of this on my
nose and around my mouth because I do have a little bit of hormonal breakouts happening right now,
which is annoying. I'm also going to apply it a little bit on my forehead area to brighten up
the center of my face, and then I'm going to just put whatever is left on my brush and my eyelids
to cover any discoloration I have here. Okay, so this is why you try things multiple times
different ways because I actually like the way this is looking. I do want to wait and see how
it creases and settles in, but one thing I will say is this actually has really good coverage for
how light this feels. It feels like I'm wearing nothing on my face, but it covered up a lot of my
issues I was having around my mouth. This actually looks pretty good. Let's move on and do the rest of
the face. Let that concealer kind of sit before setting it to see how it creases if it does crease.
To add a little bit of dimension back into my face, I'm going into the Makeup by Mario Soft
Sculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer in the shade Light, and I'm going to pick that up on my Anissa
bronzing buffing brush that I've been obsessed with. It just fits into this little area so well
and it makes blending your bronzer or contour super quick and super easy. It also fits really
nice under the jaw here and it makes it really easy to just blend it along your forehead line.
This brush has more of an oblong shape and the bristles are quite dense, so I never get streaks
with this brush. I like to just use it to pat pat pat and apply whatever cream product I'm working
with. I really like this Makeup by Mario Skin Enhancer by the way. It is very sheer but buildable.
It's very easy beginner friendly to use if you are a little bit intimidated about bronzer, contour,
that kind of thing. This one's really really nice and looks natural. And whatever is left on my brush
I'm just going to kind of tap it all over my nose. The nice thing about this is it has like kind of a
dewy satin finish. It's not shiny and slippery or glittery, but it's also not matte, so it looks
like skin. For blush, I've never actually tried this before. This is the Lixer Lix Stick in the
shade Rose Hip. This is a lip and cheek tint. This is a lip and cheek tint and I just thought this
color was really pretty, so I wanted to try it on my cheeks today. I'm just going to apply a little
bit mostly to the apples of my cheeks, just like that. And then I'm just going to tap that into the
cheek and see how this blends. So far, so good. The color is not too pigmented, which is not something
I really like in a blush. I want my blush to look natural. This is blending really easy and the color
is really cute. It looks a little intimidating in the component, but once you blend it into the skin
it really sheers out nicely. And again, it just has that natural dewy finish that I love. And then
whatever's left over on the nose again, just to make me look a little sun-kissed. I'm tempted to apply
more blush, but I'm not going to because I'm going for a bit of a more bold lip later, so I want the
rest of the face to look a little bit more toned back. I do have a little bit of blush blindness,
I do have to say. One thing I will add though for a little bit of extra juicy glowy hydration on the
cheek is this House Labs Bio Radiant Glassy Highlighter Balm. This is in the shade Glassy
Pink Opal, so this is kind of a little bit of a blush toned highlighter. I'm going to apply it
kind of on my cheekbones, but a little bit lower than I would a highlight just because this has a
pink hue to it. Immediately it looks wet. I've just been loving glowy skin looks lately and this
is what I've been searching for. I'm going to put a little bit down my nose as well. I'm just
going to use a little brush to blend her out. I'm kind of bringing that up towards my temple.
Is that not absolutely stunning? Oh, I don't know. I actually really love like a slightly pink blushy
highlighter topper moment. Pat McGrath used to make one that was kind of like this, but this
is actually more wet looking. This on a sunny day when the sun is like hitting your cheek,
you are going to get so many compliments on your skin, on your makeup. This is a gorgeous,
gorgeous product. If you don't like the pink, they have other colors that are more like natural
highlighter shades, but I just feel like this one's special. I'll link it down below. It does
sheer out quite a bit, so it does turn into mostly just a highlighter with a little kiss of pink.
Let's move on to eyes. There is a new product on the market that I've really wanted to test out.
These are the new Say Single Baked eyeshadows. This is in the shade Tartuffo. This is kind of
a shimmery shade. It's kind of like a light taupey brown. I feel like it'll go good with the lip and
I want to see how well this works as a one and done all over lid shadow. I'm just going to pick
that up on a rougher 02 brush. This is just a flat shader brush, so good for kind of all over
the eye, one and done application. I'm just going to tap any excess off on the back of my hand
before applying that to my lid. Immediately, I'm noticing a very light, smooth texture,
not super glittery or chunky, which I'm thankful for. I quite like this color. I'm mainly focusing
it on the mobile lid and then I'm flicking it into my crease just to kind of blend it in,
soften those edges. Looking at my under eye area, my concealer has definitely creased, but we will
see how she looks when I set it with powder. I will give her some grace because I haven't had
any setting powder placed on top yet. I'm just running that same shade all along my lower lash
line. Okay, so this is with, this is without. I actually think that makes a really pretty
one and done all over the lid shadow. It's not too much. The color is not too, too pigmented.
It's very forgiving, very easy to blend. And there's just something so chic about using a
single shadow all over your lid. I don't know. It's hard to describe, but it just makes me feel
bougie. Let's do the other eye. I think Sae's whole shtick with these single shadows is that
they wanted this to be kind of for that effortless on the run girl who wants something really simple,
really quick, something she can pop into her bag on the go with the soft, easy to blend formula
and the sleek packaging. I think they did a good job on these. I'm curious to try the matte shades
though. Maybe we'll do a little bit of a matte moment on the eyes too. Cause I have a few more
shades. I'm honestly pretty happy with the way that one single shadow looks. Like I would
definitely wear this, but I'm going to go in with a matte shade. This is their darkest shade,
I believe in Tiramisu. I'm going to pick this up on a really tiny little pencil brush. And I just
want to run that on my outer half of my lash line. Nothing too crazy. I just kind of want a little
definition on the other corner. That was very easy and the shadows very forgiving, easy to blend. So
if you applied too much, you could really easily just like soften it out. It's hard to really give
like a verdict on the matte shadows just by using it this way, but so far so good. I do like this
color. I will say it's a really nice kind of like charcoal with a hint of brown. Good if you don't
like black black, but you want something to add a little bit of definition. I want to darken up
that lash line just a touch more. So I'm going in with another really cool, new, exciting launch.
This is from Illya. This is their ThruLine Waterproof Eyeliner. I've got the shade Seraph
and I'm going to pop that right on my outer corner. This is a very deep, dark brown shade.
Eyeliners that claim to be waterproof, budge proof, all that stuff, because a lot of liners
claim that they are and aren't. So in the comment section, I'll have to give you guys a little
update on how this wears throughout the day. I'm just picking up an angled brush and kind of
shaping that liner a little bit, really only focusing that on the outer corner of my eye.
I will say that pencil on top of that powder gave us a really pretty kind of soft, smoky liner
effect. I'm also going to pop this in my tight line because that is a really good test on if
something is actually waterproof, because if it's not, it's going to end up all over my face later.
The color is pretty. It's a really deep, like, espresso brown. I'm going to put a little bit
right on my outer corner on the lower lash line as well, pretty much for testing purposes. I don't
really love, like, a waterline moment, but just the outer corner to see if it stays in place.
It looks pretty. I'm going to hop off camera really quick and do the other eye. I will be
right back. Okay, liner is done, and I actually think it looks so pretty. I really like this color,
so I hope that it lasts and it is waterproof, because this is such a pretty espresso brown
color. It really makes my eyes pop, which, by the way, I'm wearing colored contacts right now, and
honestly, you guys, it's insane how natural these contacts look. I bet you no one, even in person,
could clock that I'm wearing colored contacts. They look so natural. I forgot what color I'm
wearing. I will link the exact color down below, but the comfiest, most natural-looking contacts
I've ever worn in my life, if you want to check them out. Side note, the sharpener that went with
these eyeliners is no good. Don't buy the sharpener. It is my pet peeve to have a sharpener that does
not sharpen. I like a sharp, sharp pencil when it comes to lip liners and eyeliners, and this
did not do that, so don't buy it. The liner, though, stay tuned on my final thoughts. I'm going to finish
the eyes off with some mascara. This is the ILIA Limitless Lash Mascara. I'm just going to apply a
light layer of this to my lashes. I've been testing out this mascara, and I really like the finish of
it, the way it separates my lashes and makes them super natural and fluttery-looking, but one thing
I don't like about it is I don't feel like it holds a curl, which makes me sad, because I like when my
lashes look nice and curled. If they have a waterproof formula of this, I might check it out,
but I love the comb style brush. It makes it really easy to just get right in there and coat
every lash, and I also like that this is more of a cleaner formula, especially for something that is
going to be so close to your eyes all day long. I feel like I want a little more oomph, so I'm going
to go in with some individual lashes. These are from Own Beauty Essentials. These are so good, and
I love how they come in such a huge pack. I'm going to do a 12 millimeter on my outermost corner, and
then another 12 millimeter, and then 10 in the inner corner, just to give my eye a little bit of
lift. Okay, lashes are done. I do just want to check on the base, add a little powder, a little
finishing touches before we go in with the lip. Looking at my under eyes, my concealer doesn't
look bad. It definitely needs to be set with powder immediately after applying. It has settled
into my fine lines a little bit. It looks a little heavier than I would like it to look if I'm being
nitpicky, but overall, I would say it looks good. I'm just going to go ahead and tap out wherever
that concealer has kind of bunched up, settled into my lines a little bit. It's to be expected,
but I'm just a little picky about concealer, but over the rest of my face, it actually looks really
good. I just don't know if I love it for an under eye concealer, if you know what I mean. To set
under my eyes, I'm going in with the Pat McGrath Skin Fetter Sublime Perfection Blurring Under Eye
Powder in the pink shade, and I'm just going to use a little powder puff to tap that powder
on top of my under eye area just to lock that powder in. That immediately looks better to me.
That is what I want my under eye to look like, more smooth. I think you just need to set this
concealer with setting powder, which is fine because I almost always set my under eyes.
Just something to note in case you don't like to set your under eyes. I'm just going to set
around my mouth as well because I do like this area of my face to be nice and matte. As for the
rest of my face, I do want to keep my glow, but I want a little bit of powder to help my makeup
last a bit longer, so I'm going in with the Ilia Soft Focus Finishing Powder. This is a new launch
from them. I'm going in with this Precision Powder Brush by Sigma, and I'm just going to
tap on my forehead, on my nose, really just all over my face. You can see my skin doesn't look
flat and matte, but it is a little bit set, a little bit blurred. It is a really pretty
finishing powder. I want a little bit more blush, just a tiny, tiny bit. I'm going to use a new
shade from, say, in their Super Suede Radiant Blush Powders. This is the shade Madonna. I'm just
picking that up on a Sigma Soft Sculpt Brush, and I'm just going to gently, gently powder my cheek
with that. This is very pigmented. Definitely use a light hand with these blushes because these are
pigmented. One thing I will say, I do like how these have a little bit of glow. They kind of
remind me of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes. They're not, like, too mattifying. They
do leave your skin a little bit glowy, which I think is really pretty and definitely what I wanted
for this look. I feel like we lost a little bit of that glow, so I'm just going to go back in right on
top of that with my Health Labs Highlighter and just add her right back in. Oh, so pretty. Now for
lips. They're kind of going to be the star of the show. I want to go into something like a really
pretty berry sheer lip combo. I'm going with this liner from Morphe in the shade Other Half, and
right now on my lips, I do have a little bit of the Huda Beauty Berry Brown Lip Stain, so I'm just
going to go right on top of that, and I'm just using a light hand to line and define my lips.
I don't want anything too crazy, but this is a really pretty deep berry shade. This would also
look really pretty on deeper skin tones. Honestly, I really love Morphe lip liners. They are a simple,
classic wooden pencil, and you get a lot of product in these for not a lot of money, so I do
recommend these ones. Now I want a little wash of berry all over my lip. I'm going with the new
formulation by Hourglass. This is their Matte Lip Balm in the shade Mirage, and I was skeptical about
these at first, but these are so stunning. They're very blurring, easy to apply, long-lasting. This
is a very unique formula, and this is a gorgeous berry shade. I'm just tapping them all over my lips.
I do want a more sheer wash of color, so I'm just blotting that all over my lips instead of dragging
it. These two together with this lip liner, so pretty. Not an overpowering garish berry, but a
very classy timeless berry. Love the way this looks, and you could totally leave it like this, more matte,
but I want a little bit of gloss. I want my lips to look like glossy cherry berry lips, so I'm going
with the Lancome Lip Idol Juicy Treat in the shade 60 Million Dollar Berry, and I love the curved
applicator. It really does hug your lips. I'm just going to apply a coat of that to the lips, and
something I really like about this gloss, it doesn't feel gloopy. It feels very light and weightless.
It smells really good, too. It definitely has a little bit of a menthol-y, kind of cool-y, tingly
sensation, but it's not like over the top. It feels good. I like a little bit of a tingling
sensation in my lip gloss, personally. I love these three shades together to create this lip combo. I
think it is so beautiful, and I'm very picky when it comes to more bold lips. I'm usually a nude lip
girl, but please, I want to know your thoughts down in the comment section. Do you think I suit more of
a bold lip or more of a nude lip better? I'm so curious. I'm going to wear this makeup look for
the rest of the day, and then meet you down in the comment section to let you know how all of the new
things that I tried wore. Usually when I play with makeup, I don't like so many things, but a lot of
what I used in today's video just worked so well, and I really like this finished makeup look, so let
me know if you like videos where I play with new makeup, where I do more kind of like natural,
glowy makeup looks, by giving this a thumbs up. That way, I know you want more, and if you haven't
already, please subscribe to this channel. I have a very lofty goal of hitting 100,000 followers
by the time this year is over, and I know it's a bit lofty, but I think we can do it together.
Thank you so much for watching, and I will see you in the next one.
