Hi guys! Welcome back to my channel!
I'm here with the craziest boy and the cutest boy in the whole wide world!
He's all excited. He already had his morning bottle.
I just had my morning coffee and we should go check on the garden
because I think we should pick some of the fruit and maybe make popsicles for Angara.
Angara! Angara, do you want to make popsicles?
Don't leave me hanging. Goodbye.
You're the cutest boy in the whole wide world, you know it.
Oh, I don't know if I showed you guys this last time.
This is actually an empress tree.
This is one of the fastest growing trees in the world.
It's going to be so big, I don't know what to do with it yet.
It's going to take up an incredible amount of space.
So I'm thinking of actually putting it somewhere on the preserve.
You can see my garden is actually getting a little bit out of control.
Look, look, look, look, look.
This is, they call it a riding spider.
I don't know if I got my southern accent very well.
But this is actually a type of orb weaver.
The reason they call it a riding spider, because they're saying right.
They're saying that they wrote something in the center there.
So their webs can get so big that birds actually fly through it
and they don't want birds to fly through their web.
They already spent a ton of time on that web, right?
So that's actually in the way so that birds go around it and don't go through it.
That's pretty funny.
And I did plant some evening glories here or moonflowers.
They're doing really, really well.
I'm so excited about this.
It smells so good.
This tree, I put a trash can underneath it because it had gotten so heavy.
I knew it was going to break.
Look at that.
Oh, no.
It busted under the weight of all of the peaches.
This one has been picked clean, but I think the other one has a couple peaches left on it.
Look at this.
I still don't know what this is.
I think it is a type of pear.
If you guys know what it is, please let me know.
I have not eaten one yet, and neither has Hangana.
Don't eat that.
I want to know what it is before we eat it.
Okay, over here.
You just missed it, but one of the last peaches just dropped off of the tree.
It's still good.
It's fine.
And we got one right here.
So I don't use any chemicals or anything on these peaches.
You can eat them right off the tree.
But Hangana is not going to like it that way.
So I think we should make it into popsicles.
Before we do that, I want to check on my figs.
My figs are doing really well.
And of course, the bugs are out.
And the birds are out.
And because I don't use anything on them, I have to fight nature to get my fruit.
Roscoe Purvis Coltrane in the background talking.
Hi, handsome.
They say they're bow mouth.
That's exactly it.
He's excited.
Jack's here.
Look at this one.
It's perfect.
Hangana, you want to try it?
All of my blueberries got eaten.
I did not get a single blueberry.
This one is not perfect.
So you're looking for this deep purple.
And we want it soft.
The right one literally tastes like jelly.
Okay, this one feels soft.
So look at that.
It does just kind of leak a little milkiness.
You can eat it just by taking a bite of it.
But a lot of people don't like the way it feels.
It's almost like a peach on the outside.
But the inside, you can just take it and just lay it on your tongue.
Come here, you want to try it?
What do you think, Hangana?
No, ma'am.
Are you eating it?
Is it good?
He's eating it.
Good job, buddy.
I just found another peach.
Yes.
We're going to go make popsicles.
Okay, guys.
These are wild grapes right here.
I'm going to guess muscadine, but I'm not 100% positive.
I don't eat these because I didn't plant them.
But look how big that grape is already.
This is the crazy thing.
It starts here.
And we'll just start driving down the driveway.
Look at this.
It's all the way to the very top.
And it just keeps going.
The grapes are all the way back in here.
I don't think anyone planted this.
I'm just going to eat my own grapes.
But I think it's interesting.
There's wild strawberries that are just growing everywhere here.
And some kind of blackberry, too.
Once again, I didn't plant it.
I ain't going to eat it.
But I think it's very interesting that they're just everywhere.
Here in the south, we got some seriously big bugs.
What about spiders?
Are you guys afraid of spiders?
I'm going to show you a spider.
Okay, let's go.
That is a really big spider.
Look at it.
I'll try to get my hand next to it so you can see how big it is.
So this is a golden webbed orb weaver.
I know we have them here in South Carolina.
I know we also have them in Florida.
I'm not sure if they have them where you guys are from.
This is actually a very calm, cool spider.
You're totally safe.
I hope you guys can actually see.
The web is actually golden.
So that's where it got its name, the golden webbed orb weaver.
The amazing thing about this web is I've run into this web on accident a lot.
I will tell you right now, it will stop you in your tracks.
This is how strong it is.
They are milking.
Weird, I know.
They're milking these guys and they're making bulletproof clothes out of that web.
What?
You got to Google this stuff.
It's crazy.
All right, we're inside in the air conditioning.
It is hot out there right now.
You think so, my God?
Do you want to have some popsicles because it's so hot outside?
Okay, you have to go on my back for a second.
I'm not actually going to measure this.
Angada loves yogurt.
Oh, you have to stay back there for a minute.
So I'm going to make yogurt peach popsicles.
I Googled it and the recipe, of course, called for sugar.
I'm not saying I never eat sugar, but I don't see why you would add sugar to it
because this is a really sweet peach and I'm going to add some vanilla yogurt to it.
I think it'll taste perfect without any sugar.
I'm not going to measure it though.
I'm just going to try to just do half peach, half yogurt.
I think it'll work just fine.
Bought this from Angada when I was a baby because I also do not use baby food.
I just blend everything and that's how I feed the monkeys.
I'm not sure how old baby food actually is.
Yeah, you got to be on the back because that's where it's safe, huh?
Punch it.
Peaches are one of my absolute favorite.
They have been since I was a child.
My dad always had a white meat peach tree, which is different than this one,
which you can see is not white.
Oh man, I spent so much time as a kid just sitting out in the garden
eating all the fruits and vegetables that my dad had planted.
So I'm just using these cups to measure how much is each
because I just want to do half and half.
What do you think?
Do you think Angada's going to like the popsicle?
If you guys have been watching for a while,
you probably remember me describing that chimpanzees are weird about temperature.
They don't like extremes in temperature, whether it's cold or hot.
They want everything like 70s, I guess.
So we'll see if he actually likes a popsicle.
You don't have to blend this a lot.
And I think if you don't, it'll be prettier.
Just so you can get like that yogurt-y swirl on it.
Angada is inside my shirt.
I don't know why that's funny.
All right, give it one more go.
We're going to have to actually put this in the freezer
for three or four hours or overnight
if you're just like interested in the recipe.
I went to so many stores yesterday to try to find these popsicle holders.
Apparently, August is not the time of year when people are making popsicles,
but August in South Carolina is ridiculously hot.
Also in Florida, don't know if you've been to Florida,
August in Florida is probably the hottest place I've ever been.
All right, we're going to put these in the freezer
and we'll be back in four hours.
Are you excited, Angada?
Are you still inside my shirt?
Here, here, let me have your hands.
Are you excited, excited?
Yeah, yeah, this is the popsicle dance.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Good boy.
Do you think the popsicles are ready?
You ready?
Okay.
I wonder if they're going to come out, though.
I'm so excited.
You just want to mess with Jack.
Okay, here, we got to put it under some water really quick.
Look, we should go out and eat this on the porch.
You ready?
We can go watch the boats on the river
and eat these.
Are you excited?
Hold on, hold on, let's go outside.
You ready?
It does not look too busy out there,
but hopefully we'll see some boats going by
because Angada absolutely loves watching the boats go by.
I think it's just the noise, the excitement.
There's just something about boats moving around.
I think everyone on the boat is having a good time,
and he can read that, too.
Chimps are very, very aware of what's happening around them.
Look at the boat.
What do you want more?
Do you want the popsicle or the boat?
Uh-oh.
He's stopping.
Maybe he knows it's a chimp.
Angada, here.
You want to try this?
You want it?
It's going to melt before you eat it.
You know what?
It's perfect the way it is.
It doesn't need sugar.
Angada doesn't need sugar.
In the wild, of course, they eat natural sugars.
That would be the peach, right?
Yeah, eat it.
It's so good.
Yeah.
What do you think, handsome?
Is it yummy?
Is it yummy on a hot day?
Oh, he's got to go show off to the boat.
Look how cool I am.
I can make noise, too.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, we don't have a ton of animals down here at the river,
but both Bubbles and Angada, I believe,
trying to make as much noise as the boat does
is, like, part of the game.
If a big boat comes by, Bubbles, like, stands up.
She flaps her ears back and forth.
She could even trumpet.
She does trumpet sometimes at really big, loud things.
Want more?
Yeah, that's pretty good, huh?
He says, I have to play, too.
Oh, he got it all over your hand.
Yeah.
Oh, did you hear that noise?
That's the happy noise.
He just went, uh-huh.
Come here, happy man.
He's making the noise.
Can you hear it?
Come here, handsome.
I hope you guys enjoyed this video as much as we enjoyed making it
and eating it.
Well, I showed you a little bit more of my garden.
I'm not actually sure what I'm going to do with the grapes.
