The View panelist and former Trump White House communications director Alyssa Farrah Griffin
said she's uncomfortable with photos of the men accused in the Cornell University
Gangar case spreading online before they've had their day in court.
Griffin stated,
Bear with me because this may sound unpopular, but due process matters.
She introduced text messages exchanged by Jane Doe, the woman identified in court papers
and one of the accused men.
One man texted,
I just wanted to apologize for how things went down the other night.
On November 3rd, 2024, Doe texted him, stating what occurred that night was not consensual.
Griffin said,
I'm not an attorney, but I'm a little uncomfortable with these men's faces being plastered everywhere.
She admitted,
I think the men probably did it.
But she cautioned,
I think we need to let the courts play out.
Griffin compared it to the Central Park Five, who were wrongfully convicted.
She recalled their faces were blasted all over newspapers before they had their day
in court.
Co-host Sunny Hostin supported Griffin's view, saying the case was reported inaccurately
and unfairly.
She voiced concerns about their photos being plastered all over the internet.
Joy Behar pushed back, emphasizing the attack still occurred whether she's drunk or not.
Meanwhile, Doe filed a civil suit against seven former members of the Kai-Fi fraternity.
None of the men have been charged, and one attorney denies the allegations.
On October 1st, Governor Kathy Hochul appointed Attorney General Letitia James a special prosecutor
