Meet the team behind the machine. 🌊💨
The "Swift Intruders" of Assault Craft Unit 5 give the Navy-Marine Corps team the ability to move combat power from ship to shore where others can't reach.
These Sailors keep the amphibious force ready to move, fight and sustain operations across the Indo-Pacific and beyond.

Pretty cool thing about LCACS is we're able to hit 80 percent of the world's beaches
versus conventional crafts that are only able to hit about 17 to 20 percent of beaches.
Assault Craft Unit 5's mission is to provide high-speed ship-to-shore connectors for the
Navy and Marine Corps team. We are the premier ship-to-shore connector unit and the largest
concentration of landing craft air fishing in the Pacific Fleet. If one craft falls down,
we have to rely on each other to be able to meet that mission. Not everyone knows the ins and outs
of these crafts so being able to utilize those who may have experience or who have gone through
the thick of it can be able to answer said calls and be able to help with operational readiness
and then also maintenance that may rear its ugly head. Being ready to fight tonight at ACU-5
is really important to us here. Being on the premier LCAC command for the Pacific Fleet
is critically important to us and we know that each and every day that call may come and so
what we do here, we live by the motto of get ready and stay ready. We continue to work on
sailor proficiency and training, our physical readiness and to build in whatever it may take
for mental readiness, the warrior ethos, the whole sailor is ready to go but each and every
day we're committed to that excellence. Everybody is a war fighter and everybody is ready to go.
