Hi, welcome to Ying's Taiji. As we get older, strong legs and good balance become even more
important. Today's gentle Taiji workout will help you strengthen your lower body,
improve your balance and mobility. First exercise, gentle knee bends with arm press.
Bend your knees gently as your hands float down. Press through both feet and rise slowly,
keeping your chest lifted. This helps strengthen your thighs and makes everyday standing easier.
Three, two, one, rest. Next exercise, side step, elbow draw and shoulder roll.
Three, two, one, go. Step to one side as you draw your elbows forward and gently roll your shoulders.
Then repeat on the other side. This improves shoulder mobility,
releases upper body stiffness and helps with side-to-side coordination.
Three, two, one, rest. Next exercise, back step with overhead cross. Three, two, one, go.
Step one foot back and soften both knees. Return to the center and step to the other side as you
lift your arms and cross your hands overhead. This strengthens your legs and improves coordination
as you change direction. Three, two, one, rest. Next exercise, waist turn and palm push.
Three, two, one, go. Shift your weight gently and turn through your waist. Press one palm outward
then return smoothly to the center. This improves waist mobility and whole body coordination.
Three, two, one, rest. Next exercise, separate heaven and earth. Three, two, one, go. Bend your
knees gently as your hands come towards the center. Slowly rise as one palm presses up
and the other presses down. Lower your arms then change sides. This opens your chest,
improves shoulder and upper body mobility and helps release tension through your back and waist.
Three, two, one, rest. Next exercise, knee lift with arm sweep. Three, two, one, go.
Shift your weight onto one leg and lift the opposite knee. Sweep your arms smoothly then
lower with control and change sides. This strengthens your supporting leg and improves
single leg balance. Three, two, one, rest. Next exercise, knee lift and hip circle.
Three, two, one, go. Lift one knee forward. Gently open it out to the side.
Lower your foot with control and change sides. This improves hip mobility,
strengthens your supporting leg and helps develop balance and coordination. Three, two, one, rest.
Next exercise, cross back step and bend. Three, two, one, go. Step one foot lightly behind the
other and bend both knees. Press through your front foot to rise then change sides.
This strengthens your sides and improves control when stepping in different directions.
Three, two, one, rest. Next exercise, knee lift with forward reach. Three, two, one, go.
Reach both arms forward as you lift one knee. Lower slowly then repeat with one leg.
This improves balance, posture and coordination. Three, two, one, rest. Next exercise, cross back balance.
Three, two, one, go. Open your arms and place one foot lightly behind you. Hold for a moment,
return to the center then change sides. This strengthens your hips and ankles and helps
improve balance. Three, two, one, rest. Next exercise, heel raise with arm press. Three, two, one, go.
Raise your arms forward then press them gently down as you lift your heels. Stay tall through
your body. Lower with control and repeat. This strengthens your calves and ankles, improves
balance and helps you maintain upright posture. Three, two, one, rest. Final exercise, side sweep.
Three, two, one, go. Keep your feet granted and turn gently from your waist. Let both arms
sweep naturally to one side. Return to the center then sweep to the other side. This gentle movement
helps you relax, release tension and recover, leaving your body feeling calm and refreshed.
