Hi! Can you see me? Can you hear me? Hello? Hi! Good morning! Hi, Maria! Hi, Ines!
Good morning, everyone! Can you guys see me and hear me? Hi! Hi, everyone! I'm trying to look at
the chat to see that you actually hear me. Yeah! Thank you, Ines! Hi, everybody! Thank you so much
for being here! Thank you! Hi! Yeah! It's so nice to see you guys! I'm just waiting to see in the
chat who's there. Where are you watching from? Let me know in the chat! Hi, everybody! Welcome!
Hi, Shmuel! Hi! Thank you for being here! I'm just making some time so to make sure that everyone
comes and everyone is here. Hi, Castro Live! New Hampshire? I'm just looking at it, yeah. Ah, New Hampshire! Nice!
Yeah, I always like to see where you guys are watching from. You may know I'm actually in
Germany. So, it's nice to see where everyone is. And yeah, just to see that even though we're so
far away, we're also very close in a way. So, it's really nice. Thank you so much for being here!
Ah, wow! South Africa! So cool! Toronto! Canada! Nice! Okay, guys! So, I guess we can start the video.
First, I wanted to just... I just wanted to take this moment to first say thank you. Sorry, I'm just
listening to myself as well just to make sure everything's okay. Yeah, I wanted to say thank you
before we start. As you may know, this giveaway is to celebrate our 40,000 people here in the
community of Plants and Lucia. And yeah, it's just so nice to be here with you. You know, I think
just not so long ago, we passed the 41,000 people here. And I was talking to Jan about this.
You know, 40,000 is such an incomprehensible number. But then, when we published the video
for the giveaway, the first one to announce the 40,000 subscribers and just celebrate our
community, we started getting so many messages and comments. And yeah, just so much communication
from you guys. And it just made it so meaningful. Because 40,000 is just a number. But then,
when you think about every person, like the person that is right there just behind the camera,
it's just so nice. And I'm just so grateful that we could just cross paths here. And we get to
talk about our plants. And we get to chat with each other and just feel closer. Even though we're
physically far away, it just feels really that we are very close. So, thank you. Thank you to
the person that is on the other side of the screen. Thank you so much for being here. Thank
you for your light. Thank you for your comments, your feedback, your support, your love. It's been
really, really amazing getting to know all of you. And yeah, I hope that the videos make you smile
and help you with your plants. And yeah, I hope that many people get to be part of our community.
So, we get to see more people bringing plants to their homes and getting closer to our planet and
to nature. So, thank you so much, guys. But yeah, let's get to the giveaway. I don't know if you
may know. Well, maybe you know because we've done this before. So, I'm following tradition
in the channel here. We usually have giveaways every time we get to a milestone. And the way
that I like to do this is that when we announce the results, I like to also announce it with you.
So, you help me announce the winners for the giveaways, which I think is really fun. And we
always do this activity here. So, as you can see, we have many plants here. So, if this is your first
time, don't worry. I'm going to explain how it's going to work. But we have five plants here. So,
we have a peace lily. We have a Boney Ears cactus. We have the Pilea peperomias. Then the African
Milk Tree and the Brist Nest Fern. And everyone has their name. And the way that this is going to
work is that you guys are going to help me announce the winners. I have all of the entries right here,
and I'm going to mix them and everything. So, yeah, we have all of the entries. And what I'm
going to do is I'm going to put one entry in each one of these plants. So, as you can see here,
you have all of the names. And the way that you are going to help me is you're going to vote for
your favorite plant. So, you can start voting in the chat right now. Jan is going to help me just
count the names for each of the plants. And yeah, just vote for your favorite. You can vote for one
or two. And then depending on which one has the most votes, those are the four plants that have
the most votes. Those are going to be the plants that are going to help us say who's going to be
the winner. So, as you vote right now, I'm going to just mix this here. Very well mixing them now.
Yay! By the way, thank you so much for participating in the giveaway. I love reading your stories on
the Instagram post and reading your comments as well. So, it was really, really nice. Thank you
so much, you guys. So, I'm going to close my eyes and I'm going to get one. Let me see. Yeah,
so I think, yeah, it's one right here. So, this one is going to go to Lily. Put it right here.
Then again, mixing. Second, second entry right here is going to go to our bunny ears cactus.
And I'm going to do it very carefully because I don't want the spikes in my hand.
Then the next one, yep, here in the pilea, right there. And next one right here
in our African milk tree here. And the last one, you guys, let's see, this one right there.
And I'm going to put it in the center of our bird's nest fern. So, if you just got into
the video right now, what we're doing is we're going to vote for our favorite plants
and the ones that have the most votes is going to be the four most voted plants. Those are the
ones that we're going to be announcing as the winners. So, yeah, just vote over there. Let me
see in the chat. We have Gustavo, we have Sonny, Aurora. Ah, many Lily as well. Wow. Hi,
hi to Italy. Massimiliano, thank you for being here. So, we're closer because we're in Germany.
Okay, you guys. So, I thought that maybe as you vote for our plants, I'm just going to give you
a little bit of time to vote for the favorite plants. And I'm going to tell you just a short
story of each one of them so you get to know a little bit of them, a little bit about them.
And also, yeah, just to get to know a little bit about me with these plants. And also,
if you have any questions, if you have these plants, you can also let me know in the chat
and we can talk a little bit about them as you vote. So, here we have the Peace Lily. It's Lily,
and that's their name. And actually, this one is actually a propagation. So, it comes from a bigger
spathiphyllum, and then we divide it into two. So, we did the division method. Let me know if
you've ever done that. So, you actually cut the plant into two all the way to the root,
but it depends on the plant. So, you can do this with the spathiphyllums, you can do this with
the calatheas. So, let me just put it here so you know which one you're looking at, this one.
And yeah, I mean, I really liked that you guys actually voted in Instagram for the plants that
were going to appear in this video. And this one is a propagation, this one is a propagation,
and this one is a propagation. So, we have three propagations out of five. And I think it's
actually pretty fitting because we're celebrating the growth of our community. And of course, plants
can grow through propagation, and you can also share the love of plants through propagation
with your friends. So, yeah, I thought that it was really cool that you voted for this one.
But yeah, so this one is a peace lily, and it's a propagation, it's a propagated plant.
Then we have this one, which is Gustavo. And this one is an opuntia. Anyone has an opuntia?
I would love to know. Do you guys have this one right here? I love this plant. I mean,
I have to be very careful because seriously, so many times I'm just like going close to,
like close just by her, and then I get the spikes on my hand, or I don't know, in my clothes, and
it's like, it's really painful. But it's a beautiful plant. And I can tell you that,
you know, sometimes people say that succulents are super easy, but in my experience, succulents
have been the most difficult plants for me. Then let me know what has been your experience with
succulents. But anyways, you know, when you have difficult plants and difficulties, you get to
learn more about plants. So I feel that with this one, I learned so much because I had another
opuntia. And basically it had like really long ears, long and thin. And later I learned that
this was because it was actually lacking sunlight. So if you have an opuntia, and you see that it's
going really leggy and thin, that is actually your cactus telling you, okay, I need more light.
So just put it closer to the sunlight. So yeah, let me look at this. I'm just looking at the chat
because I saw. Okay, so Castro Life says, I have lots of photos to propagate with friends. Yes,
yeah, the photos is amazing to propagate and to share with friends. Yes, that's true.
I love the photos. I have the golden photos. Do you have that one too? It's beautiful.
Mike Williams, I have five different ones. Is it the opuntia? Or which one do you have?
Yes, Jasmine. Hi, Jasmine. It's so nice to see you. Yeah, opuntians are lovely. But yeah,
the spikes are like, ooh. I have a Maranta plant. Oh, nice. Really? And the name is Gustavo? That's
so pretty. The Maranta loconeura? Is that the one you have? I'm talking to Cici here.
Yeah, okay. So I'm going to continue with the plants. Let me see. Yes. Okay. So we were with
the opuntia. This one is a Pilea peperomioides. And the Pilea is actually, where is it? Right
here. This one is actually related a little bit. Okay. This is more like a, like a personal thing,
but it's related to this one right here. So as you can see, this one is called sunshine. And
this one is called sunny. And this is because these two plants actually come from a very close
friend of ours. Her name is Rebecca. And her nickname is sunshine. And this is because
she's always bringing so much light to everyone around her. And yeah, actually her last, her
nickname is sunshine. And these two plants were gifted to us by her. And it's really cool because
both of them come from bigger mother plants that we have in the house. These ones were
propagations. This one is a baby Pilea that comes from the pups of the bigger Pilea. And
then this one comes from a very big African milk tree. And this was a cutting. So yeah,
these are the two, sunshine and sunny. Right there. And of course, then we have this one,
which is Aurora. This one is actually Aspi, sorry. Yeah, the bird's nest fern, Asplenium nidus.
And this is actually very special. And I'm so happy that you guys voted for this one too
on Instagram. Because, you know, this one was one of the first plants that we've had when we
started collecting plants at home, when we started to get them in our house. And it has been a very
adaptable plant. But it's so nice to have her in this video right here. Because this is how,
I mean, it started with this one. It was not the first one, but it was one of the first ones.
So it's so nice to have now the plant here to celebrate with you all this journey three years
after. So yes, um, let me see. So guys, let me see how the voting is going. I'm just gonna ask Jan.
He's just, he's just counting the votes. So I'm just gonna look at your messages here.
I have a cactus that looks a lot like that, but it's probably something different.
In summer. Yes. Yeah. In summer, the succulents may be a little bit easier. It's true because,
yeah, they get more sunlight, right? And they usually. So perfect. Okay. So I think we can
stop counting. I just got the results here. So let me tell you guys, we have Lily. Wow,
you voted for Lily so many times. So, okay. So is that, that's the number one, Lily.
Then number two is actually the two that are related to Rebecca is Sunshine and Sunny.
And then the number four is Aurora. So the one that was in the end was this Gustavo,
but it's okay. Uh, we're still gonna like just open them and we'll see. So we're going to start
with the one that had the number fours, the fourth plant, which was Aurora with four votes.
And yeah, so we're going to open the name and just to remind you, the fourth prize is actually
a free entry to my course on light for houseplants. This course, I'm so proud of it is really cool.
You learn everything about lights and also you can contact me in case you have any questions
or anything like this. I'll be, I'll be there to help you. So let's look at this one right here.
Okay. So the winner is Rosalia and in YouTube is Star Twilight. Can you see it there? Yeah.
Oh, right there. Rosalia, congratulations. Yay. Everyone. Yeah. Let's celebrate for her. Thank
you so much for participating and congratulations. I'm going to be in contact with you.
So yeah, you get your free entry. Yay. Rosalia. Okay. We're going to go to the third package
and that one. Okay. It's between sunshine and sunny. So both of them got five, five votes.
So let's just see, maybe we can go alphabetically. So maybe sunshine.
Um, yeah, let's do sunny first because that's the first in alphabetical order.
So we're going to do sunny, which is the pilea right here. Okay. So for the third gift is going
to be a free entry to the course of light for houseplants and a full year supply of my favorite
fertilizer for plants. This one is instant plant food. And I really love it because it's really
easy to use. It's also very sustainable because as you can see, it's like super, it's not heavy,
super light. And yeah, you don't have to carry so much around the, the just the transportation is
very, it's very good for this one. So I really like it. My plants love it. And you get a full
year supply of this fertilizer. So let's look at who's the winner. Okay. So this is Jennifer
for three guests, Jennifer. Yeah. Jennifer, congratulations. So I'm also going to be in
contact with you and yeah, thank you so much for participating. Thank you so much for being part
of our community and yes, congratulations. Okay. Now we're going to go to the second gift.
So that's sunshine. I just have to check my notes because so it's sunshine. So again,
for this one is going to be the free entry to my course, then the full year supply for instant plant
food. And this one is very close to my heart is this book is a copy of Braiding Sweetgrass
by Robin Welkimer is this one right here. This book, seriously, it has changed my life in the
way that I think that I look at my plants. And also that I look at earth is one of my favorite
books. And it's just really inspiring. So I hope that you enjoy it. I really like it. So yeah,
let's look at who won this. So it was sunshine. Yeah. So this one right here. Oh, sorry. See,
there, it may not stay. Okay, good. So this is a winner for the third gift. And the name is
Dodie Santos. So Dodie Santos. So there. Yay. Congratulations, Dodie. So I'm going to be in
contact with you as well. Thank you so much for participating. Thank you so much for being part
of our community. And yes, congratulations. I hope that you enjoy the book is really,
really amazing. I hope that you like it. I'm looking forward to seeing what you think about it.
And yeah, of course, the fertilizer, amazing for your plants. And of course,
the cores. I'm also there to help you out with light. And for the first place, we have Lily,
which is the peace lily here. And just to remind you for this one, you get the free course,
then you get a full year of instant plant food. And of course, the big prize of the grow light.
So plant spectrum 16 from mother, this grow light is amazing. My plants love it. I love it,
because I don't know if you know, but as in Berlin, we don't get so much sunlight in the
winter. So it's so nice to see a light that actually looks like natural light. It's really
beautiful. So yes, let's see who's the lucky winner. I'll tell you. Okay, so the lucky winner
is Danny Menendez. Danny Menendez. So Danny, it's so nice to hear. Yeah, it's so nice to see
that it's you. So I'm so happy. Thank you so much for participating. I'm so happy that you're part
of our community. I've learned so much from you too. So thank you so much. And yeah, yay.
Congratulations. I'll be in contact with you. And yeah, okay. So thank you so much for being here.
Congratulations to all of the winners. And thank you so much for being part of our community.
It means so much to me just to get to talk to you learn about plants together. And yeah,
oh, it's so nice to see all of you guys in the chat. Yay. So I'll be in contact with you with
all of the winners. And of course, we'll have more giveaways in the future. So yeah, and I wanted to
let you know also, if you would like to be more in contact with me and with this project, and you
would like to support this channel and like, just get to know more people in the channel, we do have
