What's going on guys? Today we're going to talk about
MPG and how is it that I do so good. As you can see right now I'm getting about
26 on average. That's the last 115 miles.
Most of that has actually been around the city.
I'll show you the kind of roads that I'm traveling on, just total
highway roads. This drive has been one of the first country drives
on this tank. We're going for about 44 minutes so far.
Tire pressure is good. Everything's around 35-36.
Let you see the real-time mileage as you can again see
the kind of roads I'm traveling on. Additionally
you can see the car is hot. Water temp is normal.
Oil temp is 205 but it is in the mid 80s out right now.
MG is still looking great in real time. This is a slight slope right now
and then right here it flattens out as that starts to reflect itself.
Again very much country roads. You see mile per hour speed limit.
I'm gonna get out of cruise control now and we're gonna look at what percent of
acceleration does the little widget think I'm doing.
You can see I'm starting to gain back to where I usually fall in the high 20s to
low 30s. All right cruise is off to sustain that
right now. It's a little bit of a downhill right
now so this isn't entirely fair and we're coming into town so I'm just
gonna let us slow down a bit and I'll let you guys see what the
acceleration percent looks like. As often as I can I'm off the throttle
so that it's not, I don't know, fuel injectors go crazy with
their input versus just running off of the rotational
connection that we already have. All right guys now we're going 40 just
well 13 percent. It's usually under 20
unless I'm doing a hard acceleration. Anyways I'll do
a follow-up to this video a little bit later in the week so you guys can see
what this tank ended up being. Of the 117 miles right now
about half of that was in town and then the second half was in the country roads
today going to and from work. So catch up with you
soon and we'll see what this tank got up to
starting right now or leaving this video 26.3.
All right so it's been about two days and another 160 miles or so.
You can see the current average is up to 27.7 where it left off
last time it was in the low 26 range. I'm going to show you the trip B over
almost the last 10,000 miles I've averaged 27.3.
Going back to trip A showing you where we're currently at 27.8.
I'm going just under 30 miles an hour through a little town.
You can see the rpms are a little bit over a thousand. In the earlier part of
the video they were around 1500. That's worth
mentioning just knowing how quiet and smooth the vehicle is
when going at the speed. I'll show you the widget percentage as we get up
speed again on this other country road. So I guess it does get a little bit
above 20 but that's my usual acceleration.
Once the vehicle is hot I can actually keep the mpg about where it's currently
at in town but it's the little the little drives
around town that really hurt it. Right here you can see I'm still
accelerating slowly and the plus and minus bar is staying
pretty neutral. Of the last 160 miles or so that I've
added probably about 140-145 was country roads
where I do get you know usually close to 30 miles per gallon
and then there were a number of short little drives in town the last few days
all of which were about two miles. Cold engine
those really hurt it. Those actually dropped me down as a
whole from where I left off in the last part of the video
to like 25.9 26 even. So then the last 140 miles of highway
have been in building back up. But this is my
driving experience. Again these are the type of roads I drive on
so I hope that makes sense for why me going 60 to 70 miles an hour
usually is getting me high 20s. I will say when I first got the wilderness
the first 5,000 miles or so or maybe like in the 23 24 25
mpg ballpark I'm not sure what changed if that was just when I first changed my
own oil. If that was when I figured out how to
drive the car more efficiently as you can see here I'm going about 50
and the rpms are like 1,200. The widget acceleration is like
16% just that I've kind of figured out how to drive it if it's just
my area the roads I'm on where 10% of the tank is city. I know that has a
huge part to play but like I said once it's warmed up like
when I'm back in a bigger town in a little bit
I could actually sustain high 20s just because the car is running so
efficiently but this turbo boxer engine really
seems to be kind of nitpicky on if it's cold if you give it much throttle
input mpgs are just gone if you're very
cautious if you know how to kind of stay in the low
torque power band and it's warmed up you can do quite well.
Let me know what you guys think in the comments what is your mpg your best
your worst on a whole tank. This drive ended at 28 miles per gallon
and then next I've included the best documentation I have of what I have
reached on the single tank which was 31.5 miles per gallon
that was over 97% highway driving. Thanks again for watching please like
comment and subscribe if you like what you see it helps the channel grow
and take care guys
