America Forgot the Values that Made It Free

Eric Metaxas says Americans have lost touch with the history and principles behind the country’s founding, leaving younger generations more vulnerable to ideologies like socialism.
“If you don't know how America came into being 250 years ago, you can't possibly understand why Marxism is the antithesis of that.”
Metaxas argues America’s tradition of liberty and self-government grew from biblical ideas, while stressing that Americans remain free to practice — or not practice — any religion.
“So you can be anything in America. The question is, are you faithful to the Constitution?”
His warning is that generations of Americans were never properly taught the country’s history.
“If you're ignorant, if you're a blank slate, and somebody starts telling you a nice story about (how) we're going to give you free stuff, you think, well, that sounds so nice.”
