The quiet holds for close to ninety minutes before Mozart's flute quartet breaks it, and Bach picks up right behind.

Grieg's "Morning Mood" opens the set, and almost everyone who has ever heard it pictures the same scene: Norway, a fjord, sunrise. That is not where Grieg put it. In Ibsen's Peer Gynt, this cue plays under a sunrise over the Moroccan desert, because Peer wakes up out there, stranded, after his own companions sail off with his yacht, without him. So probably the most famous sunrise in the whole repertoire happens nowhere near Norway.

Where's your own sunrise happening?
