Remembering Antonio de Nigris, Monterrey's Global Icon

One of the players that really touched me when he passed is Toño de Nigris. Toño de Nigris, he was a legend of Club Monterrey in Mexico and a Mexican player that scored one of the most memorable goals against Brazil on a single volley with a left leg, al ángulo, in an official game. He was a player that traveled the world. He went and represented Mexico in over 10 different leagues around the world, always as a striker, always scoring goals. Unfortunately, he passed on his sleep before a game peacefully, and we no longer saw the magic of Antonio De Nigris. Antonio De Nigris became a very iconic player because, like you said, he traveled the world representing Mexico in scoring goals and every single team that he played for, Once Caldas in Ecuador, I remember him playing La Liga, El Torneo Intercontinental in a final with Once Caldas taking a penalty kick and scoring it for Villarreal in Spain. For America as well, you know, but Toño de Nigris, it reminds us that even if you're eating healthy, even if you are, you know, as an athlete, impeccable, you know, when death comes, it's difficult to talk about these players because many of these players were those who we watched and we wanted to emulate in the field.
