Judge blocked the Trump administration
from breaking ground on a towering memorial arch.
Now, the temporary restraining order lasts for 14 days.
It is a setback for one of the
president's most prominent projects
in his vision to remake Washington, D.C.
A planning commission voted eight to four
to approve the arch despite public opposition.
President Trump signed a proclamation meant
to prevent future changes to his redesigned
Oval Office and Cabinet Room.
The proclamation does not prevent future presidents
from redecorating the Oval Office, which is
now filled with gold flourishes.
President Trump says any major changes would need
to be approved by Congress, even though
that has been one of the biggest criticisms
of President Trump, that he has taken many
actions without approval from Congress.
Well, starting today, there's a traffic alert in San Francisco
because of another road closure
Highway 101. All the lanes southbound
of Highway 101 between 17th Street and Cesar Chavez will be closed
this weekend along Hospital Curve because of paving work.
The closure starts tonight at 11 o'clock.
It will reopen Monday at 6 a.m. The northbound lanes are going
to stay open, but Caltrans is urging drivers avoid the area if you can.
This is the third and final weekend of a full closure for
Pavement improvement.
All right.
Sal has been keeping an eye on that.
There's so much of that going around right now.
I think before it rains, right, Sal?
In Marin County, we've had new paving and no lines.
Everybody says no lines, just vibes.
It's really hard to follow.
Yeah.
You know what?
You know what I found, Pam?
I'm glad you mentioned the new paving.
When they do new paving,
your car is a lot quieter when it's on the freeway.
Have you noticed that?
I have noticed that.
Yeah, otherwise it's like...
Right. What I don't like is when one lane is paved, right,
in the next one, and there's that big, that big, like, ooh.
Right. Pump. Yeah, exactly.
There's a lot going on.
Bad for your alignment and all that.
All right. Good morning, everyone.
Let's go right to the Bay Bridge.
We are backed up almost to the maze.
I'm going to call it the maze, and I'm going to say it's about
20 minutes or so before you make it onto the bridge still.
This is better than normal, better than,
let's say, Monday through Thursday.
We're also looking at the San Mateo Bridge.
That traffic looks okay.
And we've been checking out the South Bay Commute as well.
The South Bay Commute looks pretty good
if you're driving anywhere in the Santa Clara Valley.
So definitely for now, it's a little bit Friday light out there.
Don't want to jinx anything, but for now, we're doing okay.
Now then, what about the weekend weather?
Mr. Brian Gallo knows all about that.
That I do.
Thank you, sir.
I appreciate you.
TGIF folks, good morning to you.
Going to pop up this live look for you.
You can see how active the coast is.
And we've got some advisories in effect for due reason.
So just avoid the waters. I feel like a broken record,
but we are here to keep you safe.
Look at that sky, though. Absence of sky cover.
Here's a quick look as far as what we'll be seeing today.
So a lot of sunshine as you move through really
the late part of the morning, middle part of the afternoon,
and into the early parts of the evening.
Boom. Stopping this at 7 o'clock. We're talking the 11th.
So next week, this is going to be our next shot of rain.
And it looks like it could be something significant if this really...
It unfolds the way this satellite imagery is showing us.
We are looking at two separate satellites as far as us here,
and they're kind of fighting each other.
So leaning on this one, this one looks a bit more promising,
and there's a parade of areas
of low pressure systems out in the Pacific,
about eight of them.
It's incredible.
And look at this.
This is just...
This is just, I can't even really put it into words.
I mean, the size of this, the magnitude.
Now, watch as this moves towards.
This wants to stay north of the Bay Area
and continue to saturate parts of the northwest.
This is El Nino, folks, a great depiction of it.
Even though we're looking at this kind of Gulf of Alaska,
this northerly influence, still very much related to El Nino.
16 feet, we're up by a foot just from yesterday alone.
This is looking to expire come Monday.
Coastal flood advisory still extended through the 13th.
And this is, we're going to see.
Tides peak right around 908 today, so just be safe.
No wind to worry about.
Numbers in the 70s almost for all of us,
for the exception of Pacifica and Half Moon Bay,
as you can see, checking in at 68.
Temperatures above average and continuing to move in that direction.
Peaking come Sunday.
All right, folks, get ready for some rain next week.
Have a great morning.
We'll see you back here.
Actually, no.
