Ladies and gentlemen, we've had an M-Class solar flare.
The first in over 14 days reached
that M-Class level.
This was an M2.48 solar flare.
It came from an unnamed sunspot coming around the limb,
soon to face Earth.
You can see our 24 and 72 R max is that M2.48.
It won't be assigned to a sunspot group quite yet because,
believe it or not, the sunspot group has not been named.
But I will show you the solar flare
And probable CME that won't affect Earth but was created.
Headed over
to GOES 19 solar ultraviolet imager 195 angstroms.
Look at that explosion.
Absolutely huge from an unnamed sunspot coming around the limb there.
That one is something we're going to soon be dealing with.
I also have what looks like a coral hole of sorts.
Darker here in the middle.
Also coming around to be earth-facing.
I don't know if it's a full-fledged coral hole at this point,
but it looks like it is developing, at least there in the middle there.
All right, so over to our D region absorption protection center,
we see that that flare actually ended up striking around
the Philippines,
Japan, China, throughout Japan,
and that area there.
Not a huge flare.
You can see the radio alternation is not over the top,
but it's the strongest flare we've seen in at least two weeks plus.
So I thought I would bring that to you.
An M2.48 solar flare just popped off.
Based on the location of the unnamed sunspot group,
it will not affect Earth, but that sunspot group looks very active.
And we'll be earth-facing very soon, within three days, maybe four max.
That said, God bless each and every one of you guys.
Remember, these are never any fun.
Again, an M2.48 flare off
of an unnamed yet sunspot root coming around the limb.
God bless.
