U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptors assigned to the 525th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, deployed from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, conduct flight operations alongside Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) and U.S. Army personnel at Tsuiki Air Base, Japan, Oct. 20, 2026, during Exercise Keen Sword 27 (KS27). The B-roll footage captures F-22 Raptor arrivals, U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 24th Composite Supply Company conducting expeditionary refueling operations, and U.S. Air Force Capt. Robert Gustafson, 525th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron F-22 pilot, briefing JASDF personnel on F-22 capabilities. These combined activities strengthen aircraft generation, operational readiness and interoperability between U.S. and Japanese forces. KS27 is a routine, biennial bilateral field training exercise with multinational participation, designed to increase readiness and interoperability between the U.S. military and Japan Self-Defense Forces while strengthening the ironclad U.S.-Japan Alliance.
