James Kaufman, World News Report, today.
In breaking news, the U.S. sends three destroyers,
an attack submarine, and 4,000 troops to Venezuela.
These assets have been sent to the coast of Venezuela to help combat
the drug threats and remove President Maduro from power.
Just 12 days ago, the U.S. offered a huge $50 million reward.
For President Maduro's arrest,
this is the largest bounty I can ever recall, and Maduro
must be scared to death.
Any of his insiders would gladly turn him in for this type of money.
I wonder if the bounty is good if he comes in a box.
Yes, pressure is building against President Maduro to step down,
to say the very least.
Again, only 12 days after offering a multi-million dollar reward
for information leading to the capture of Venezuelan dictator
Nicolas Maduro, the U.S. is upping the pressure considerably.
Yesterday it was announced that three Arleigh Burke-class destroyers
armed with Aegis guided missiles are headed to the coast of Venezuela
as part of an effort to address threats
from Latin American drug cartels
and to apprehend or maybe take out the dictator
who is said to have cheated himself into power.
President Donald J. Trump has vowed to use military force
to disrupt Latin American drug cartels designated
as global terrorist organizations.
Reuters has reported that a source inside
the Pentagon identified the ships as the USS Gravely seen here,
the USS Jason Dunham, and the USS Samson.
This is the USS Sampson,
and this is the USS Jason Dunham.
These folks are in big trouble.
A separate U.S. official told Reuters that in total,
over 4,000 sailors and marines were expected to be committed
to the Trump administration's efforts in the southern Caribbean region.
That U.S. official said additional commitments
of military assets in the broader region would
include several P-8 spy planes, warships,
and at least one attack submarine.
The operation could last several months,
patrolling international airspace and international waters.
Besides carrying out intelligence and surveillance operations,
The ships may act as launch pads for targeted strikes.
This, according to an unnamed individual at the Pentagon.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is a huge, serious move.
Maduro, a $50 million bounty on his head,
and now they're deploying three destroyers,
an attack submarine, and over 4,000 troops?
This man better run, go find a foxhole quick.
God bless you guys.
