AI GeneratedBrodie and his dog Strider explore diverse marine ecosystems, from tide pools and mangroves to remote islands. They encounter a variety of rare and endangered species, including a sawfish and various sharks, while highlighting the breathtaking beauty of the ocean and the urgent need to protect these habitats from industrial development.
I have a little problem. During this adventure,
Strider and I find some of the rarest sea creatures
that we've ever found before as we go
from the remote islands to the mangrove ecosystems
out in the deep blue and beyond.
Buckle up because she's gonna be wild. Let's go.
I've come out here to look through the shallows as it pushes out.
It's dead glassy and there's
There's so much around me.
Sharks and rays and all sorts.
Hello oh hello nice to meet you my name's Brodie lovely
to meet you oh settle it mate don't you
show your bloody venomous barb at me there
is something huge in this tide pool right here
there's a sawfish
in a tide pool right here
settle mate just calm down this is honestly one
of the rarest creatures in the ocean
I've never seen one like this before.
Oh, settle mate.
I'm just gonna grab him to show you guys
and I wanna take some measurements, get some photos
because these are critically endangered
and the researchers might be able to do something with that.
Whoa!
Hey, hey, hey.
I'm your friend, buddy, hey.
Check this out, sawfish right there.
But if you didn't know, right here
there's a silhouette of a crab.
Won't do anything when I put my hand over.
But when you touch it,
Man, I almost stepped on it.
Any good one, mate?
See ya.
And look at that.
The sawfish is right there.
Obviously, I don't have a tape measure,
so I've got these sticks, and I'll do the best
I can to measure him with these sticks,
make little marks on them, and measure when I get
home.
From tail to about there, I'll put a marking.
I found this tooth.
He's been so good.
I've got all the measurements that I need.
Wow, he's going for it.
Come on, mate.
Get out of here.
Do you need a hand, buddy?
See you mate. Enjoy it out there. You bloody beauty. All the best.
First.
So not only do these tide pools have some of the rarest
and most beautiful creatures ever,
they're also home to the most deadly and venomous.
So hopefully we can find one on this trip. That's one of the goals.
The sun's setting on day one. Tomorrow we'll drop the jet ski in.
Then day three, hopefully the mangrove forest.
Day four, transparent kayak. And we still got tonight too.
It's on. Whoa! Hey buddy.
Oh, the shark coming for you.
Strider, watch out.
Gentle strider. Gentle
Strider. Strider.
That's enough.
It's a baby wobbegong.
Bigger than my hand,
really. Is it
playing dead or what the hell?
It's alive, but it's just, it's acting dead. I know you're alive.
All right, there you go. Back in.
There you go, mate. Welcome
to the mangrove forest. Whoa.
I'm going to spend the next couple
of days around here searching the high and low tides.
It springs right now, which means it's
the biggest tides of the year almost.
As always, I've got my best friend, Strider, with me.
Check this out. There's just a little sea snake here getting around.
He puts his head in all these little holes.
He's looking for a feed on these low tides.
They can hold their breath for ages.
I'm not going to stare at him too much.
See you, mate. Also super venomous.
Bye.
As you can see, the tide's
finally starting to push out.
And I know exactly where I want to be but it's a long way this way.
So I'm running to try and get to that area before
the sun goes down and the tide
comes all the way back out and in.
Oh ---- there's...
Boy there's actually sharks everywhere here.
Look they're everywhere!
Oh there's so many!
Look at them!
They're all sharks!
They're everywhere!
There's sharks everywhere!
Whoa!
Muddy now.
Oh, this one is huge, a big mud crab.
Whee, settle down.
He'll just bloody follow me around.
I just wanna get him up to show ya.
This guy is actually, whoo, that's huge.
That is so big, that's a breeder.
So he'll be going around a female,
making that life cycle go on and on.
I don't wanna disturb him too much,
I just wanna show ya.
See ya, mate, have a bloody good one.
Let's go.
Huge sea snake.
In a tide pond.
He doesn't look badly injured or anything like that.
So my only guess is that he's just missed the tide hunting or whatever.
Oh, he's coming up.
That's crazy.
He's checking out my hand.
Coming up to look.
Look at that.
Whoa.
It's lovely.
Oh, it's lovely to meet you.
Whoa.
Whoa.
Oh.
Whoa.
So the plans have changed a little bit.
Tomorrow, day three, I'm going to go out to the remote islands.
And on the last day, hopefully I can drop my transparent kayak in.
For now, let's focus on tonight because she's just bloody warming up.
I'm not sure if this is going to work,
but I'm going to try and put my hammock out on the mangroves there
above all those rays and sharks and all that into the night.
I have no idea if it's going to work going
into this mangrove tree here.
There's a bar belonging to that stingray right there.
we do not want to meet
that um okay mate go on thank you
oh wow they're all here now look at
them all there there's like bloody hundreds i reckon i could lay
in there and they'd just
swim over me oh look at them now there must be a female
or two in there and they're breeding oh
hello mate all right i reckon
i can hang it from there
to there i don't want to hurt
the tree obviously wow they have not look another one
It's working.
The rays and sharks have no idea that I'm hanging up here.
Look, look, look, look.
Where'd he go?
I can literally grab him.
I could actually just, look, look at that fin there.
See that fin over there?
It's the very last of the light.
Turn this on.
Oh, I have a little problem.
I thought the tide was going out
and it's actually coming in
and it's starting to touch my bum.
Look, it's right there.
Wow, man.
Look at this, it's so nice.
Good bloody morning, everyone.
That sun is just starting to creep up now.
It is absolutely beautiful.
Look at that.
Oh my God, wow.
You could get us right in the moss.
Insane.
Well, I don't wanna waste any more time.
Let's get everything out of the car,
chuck it in the jet ski,
and literally head to that horizon.
Oh,
it
hurts.
Oh, this is crazy, man.
Oh, little shark there, turn her off.
Welcome to the remote
islands, we're here.
So right behind me, these are actually remote islands,
but when the tide gets this low, they basically connect
and it's gonna push further and further out.
Whoa!
Head towards that point and around the corner
and as the tide pushes out,
it will reveal better and better tide ponds.
Man, I have never seen a cod this small before.
He's got his little spikes, his attitude, his fins.
Oh, he's off.
See you, mate.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
It's a party.
This fish literally has love heart eyes.
I have never, ever seen this before.
I have no idea what type of species
of fish this is, but it is beautiful.
What a relief to meet you, mate.
Anyway, you have a good one, Mr. Love Heart Eyes.
Strider, I was leading the way.
Am I?
Whoa!
This beautiful little fella right here is a juvenile tuskfish.
They've got the craziest teeth just to rip open all crustaceans
and clams and things like that.
Razor sharp spines on their fins there.
See you, man.
That tide is starting to come racing back in.
So we're gonna jump on the jet ski,
head back out to the beautiful, glassy open ocean
and see what we can find.
And on the last day,
hopefully I can drop my transparent kayak in.
Just quickly, if you wanna go check out the brand new range
on youngbloods.co and support myself and the channel,
go and cop some if you really want.
Let's continue the adventure.
So many sea creatures to find.
There's something floating on the surface
just up here. Can you see that? I'm not sure what it is.
What is that? Oh, it's a turtle.
Hello, mate.
Are you alive?
Oh, it's old. Hey, buddy.
Check that out.
Ho ho ho ho.
You are beautiful, mate. It's lovely to meet you. My name's Brodie.
Look at that strider.
Oh, little bird, hello little bird.
So at the moment around me,
there's a whale just slapping his tail over there.
There's one doing a drive-by, three over there,
and one literally either playing with dolphins
or fully getting harassed by dolphins.
This is crazy, just around me, right here in this area.
Those whales are literally just on the surface.
They're like, should we go over there or not?
Oh, one's rolling now.
One's literally doing a little roll,
but they're just edging closer and closer to me.
Wow.
Probably having a little chat right now,
going, what is that small little man over there?
And the fuzzy little dog that he's with.
I'm backtracking a little bit here to head towards camp.
The sun
is starting
to go down.
This is actually so cool.
It's literally raining.
It's so cool.
Look at that.
It's just made the glassy
ocean just not so glassy.
Oh, he's going at me.
What is he doing?
He literally turned and come at me.
He's going underneath me.
What is this?
Oh, this whale, whoa!
That whale's been crazy!
There's honestly
whales somewhere
around here.
Oh my God, that whale is crazy!
Look, it's there now!
It's doing circles around me.
It's literally, it's circling me.
Look, it's come.
I love this.
This is so cool, but it's very,
oh my
God,
look.
They've decided to let, oh jellyfish, look.
They decided to leave me alone.
That was amazing, man.
I've been doing this since I was a kid,
looking for sea creatures, interacting, living on the ocean.
If you guys have been watching my videos,
you obviously know that I have a huge connection
to this beautiful place.
And I truly believe that it could be one
of the last places like this where all the sea creatures
and everything you see in my videos truly thrive.
Unfortunately,
There's these people and companies that want to come here
and industrialize the place.
They want to put a deep water port in.
They want to dredge.
They want to do all this bullshit.
There could be a time and a place for this.
But right now, this is not the time.
And this is definitely...
So if you guys love my videos, you like the ocean,
you've been here yourself, you have a connection or anything
in between, there's a link in the description of this video.
You can go through, make up your own mind.
There's such a small window to do this. There's like a week left.
So if you're thinking about it, just get over and do it now.
It's completely free, won't cost you anything.
And it really will hopefully save this place and keep it raw.
and beautiful for years and years to come.
I want my kids to live the life that I got to live out here.
