Ultimate BELIZE FOOD TOUR of San Pedro, Belize!
Nov 2, 2026
Headed to my 97th country, Belize.
Belize is a small Central American nation
that speaks English.
Let's go to Belize.
Nate, you ready?
What's going on, man? I'm ready.
What's up, man? How are you doing?
Welcome to Belize. I'm Valentin.
Thank you, Valentin.
Just like that, we're in my 97th country, Belize.
Right next to the airport, there's a small place called Tricer's Grill.
It's like street food.
Right here, we have Champ.
Hi, Champ. How are you doing?
Nice to meet you, man.
Nice to meet you, too.
You're right. We're at Rice and Beans.
Rice and Beans. If you guys don't know,
the national dish of Belize is Rice and Beans.
Oh, right here. Let me see that.
Nice.
Is that good enough for you?
That's a mountain, huh?
Haha, that's right, that's right.
And one cool thing I noticed is you guys have so many sauces.
Look at the sauces.
I'm not about sauce. Oh, let me see.
So this is stewed chicken.
Oh, stewed chicken.
Then we have like the plantain.
Mm-hmm, so maduro?
Yep, and the pasta salad.
Alright, and then you can put your hot sauce right over here.
So this is pickled onions and habanero pepper.
So this is what goes on top of the rice and beans, right?
Yeah, we eat this here.
You can either put it on top or you put it inside.
Where would you prefer it?
On top. On top.
I'm a spice guy.
Give me all the spice.
Alright, there we go.
Wow, what a monster plate.
Typical, traditional Belizean dish.
This is like the national dish with chicken,
pasta, you got a little sweet plantain, and
we have to try a beer.
You have the Belkin?
Yes, I got the Belkin beer right here.
This is the Belizean beer.
Look at that right there.
There you go.
Belkin.
All right.
So you got your food, you got your beer.
You're good to go.
Let's try it.
All right.
Oh, it's tasty.
It's good.
It's a good beer.
It's a nice beer.
The national dish of Belize,
gotta go with those rice and beans with that nice, it's
almost like a, oh, it's almost like sauerkraut, right?
Mm-hmm.
I don't know.
That is spicy.
The sauce?
Mm-hmm.
Onions, carrots.
You know what?
This rice and beans is red beans and a little sticky.
Then right here, look at that stewed chicken,
it breaks off super easily, mmm, great mayonnaise,
good comfort food.
Right here a little pasta, mmm, nice salad,
super cold, refreshing, and right here we
have sweet plantain, maduro, just like Miami.
I eat this every day.
I mean, I love the combination.
Rice, chicken, a little bit of pasta.
Oh.
Oh, man.
Mm-hmm.
This is right in front of the airport.
This is real.
Okay.
Very soft.
I've been to every Central American country except Honduras.
This is very similar in Guate,
very similar in Nica, you know, Gallo Pinto.
That's what they do over there.
Nice, but it's spicy.
You need that Vulcan.
Belkin beer. It's a lager. It's light.
Almost every single country has a very similar beer, right?
The national beer is always, you know, just for the beach. Chill beer.
Here we go.
It's light. Not heavy at all. 4.2% probably.
Thanks, Holly.
Remember when you come here you're gonna eat rice
and beans every day. This is how it is here, I'm
gonna live here. Relax huh?
A very economical meal so 11 Belizean dollars plus four that's 15 and
right now the exchange rate is two to one with the U.S. dollars
so that's like $7.50 right? $7.50
and we eat good and spicy the habanero huh?
Oh it's a belkin style. 6.5 so it's pretty good.
Oh, that's way better.
Way better?
Yeah.
I'm a dark beer guy.
In this climate, you should go
with the light beers, but 65%, it's my thing.
Good.
Awesome.
Awesome.
Coming out of the airport,
go to the ATM, pull out some money, and they also accept
U.S. dollars from my understanding.
Right.
Right.
The exchange rate is two to one.
Two to one.
So you can either pay
with some Benjamins, or we're going the opposite way.
Somebody needs money.
All right.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Nate.
What's up?
You ready, Belize?
Yeah, I'm ready, man.
It's awesome so far.
Country number 52 for you, right?
Yeah, it's a little bit more like 40, but you know.
Look at the planes, guys.
And that was my first Belizean street food experience.
It was delicious.
Now I'm ready for the water taxi over to San Pedro.
We have a 20 minute drive, 90 minute water taxi.
Let's go.
And I haven't introduced Valentine.
He's our guide here on the mainland.
He's not gonna be with us for the next three days,
but we'll see him again on the fourth, right?
That's right.
So this is the only English-speaking country
in Central America.
That's right.
This is something that was led by the British,
so we are very lucky to have you in English here.
So it's very easy for communication, so.
And in case you guys don't know,
there's I think a dozen direct flights to the United
States, a dozen different cities.
So people coming from Houston, LA, Boston,
Miami, I think there's also Orlando, lots
of direct flights.
So very easy to get to Belize,
from Miami it's only a two hour flight, pretty cool.
The Belize River.
Oh wow.
Is there gators in there?
Yes.
Oh, there is.
Not alligators.
Only crocodiles.
Alligators, huh?
Only crocodiles.
We don't have no alligators.
Yeah, because it's with the Caribbean Sea, right?
Yes.
We have the freshwater crocodile and saltwater,
which is the marauder and the American.
Oh.
It's amazing.
Well, we are entering Belize City.
Belize City, it's our main city of the country.
Population approximately 80,000 people,
this year is most for the arrivals, especially for visitors,
tourists that come to Belize, they come through here from Belize City,
take the water taxi, goes to the quays or islands.
Simply for relaxing or enjoying.
Belize City is not the capital of Belize.
Belmonpan.
So Belmonpan is the capital.
Belize City is, I guess you would say,
like the place where you can go from here to other places, right?
So we're going to San Pedro.
Then when we come back, we're gonna go straight
to Plasencia in the south.
And you can also go to some Mayan ruins
from here as well in the north in the country.
But that's basically what we do here in Belize City.
Okay, so we're getting there to the water taxi.
I'm ready.
So those guys that help us with the green shots?
They work here.
Perfect.
So right here, this is called the San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi.
Yes.
It leaves at 8 a.m., 10.30, 1.30 p.m., 4.30 p.m.
Oh, it's different places.
Okay, okay.
So there's two different places.
It goes to Calle Culquer and San Pedro.
Okay, cool.
All right, so we're here.
2.30, got to be here at 2.45, latest at 3 p.m.
What's up, guys?
How you doing?
What's up?
David, this is Vinny here.
All right.
So our bags are going on.
Most people that land in Belize City just pass through
and this is the Speed Boat Terminal.
Here you can find convenience stores, souvenir shops,
small cafes, and this is also where you buy your
ticket to cross from Belize City to San Pedro,
which is roughly around 20 US dollars.
We're at 3 p.m. so let's get on the boat.
Your tickets have to be valid today,
so you have to go into this little kiosk over here, punch a hole,
And then you're ready to go.
Thank you.
Yes, sir.
You ready to go?
Pen, pen, pen.
So this is a massive water taxi.
It fits probably like 70 people.
As you can see, you just sit down, lots of rows.
And over here to the right, we have the fishermen.
What's up, guys?
You good?
How are you feeling back here?
Really good, yeah.
It's really nice.
So from what I understand,
you can't be standing at all on this boat ride.
You have to sit down, find a seat,
and if you can't find a seat, you have to get off, basically.
It's a 90-minute boat ride.
Unfortunately, we cannot stand up, so this is it.
Just stay still, chill, and bring some beer.
Enjoy the view, guys. Enjoy the view.
And that's it. We arrived in San Pedro. What a beautiful destination.
Crystal clear blue waters, blue skies. This is...
It's a paradise.
You don't even move.
You just stay in your seat, bring a book.
OK, we're ready.
San Pedro.
Let's go.
Welcome to San Pedro.
Hey buddy, you're David?
Yes, sir.
How are you?
How are you doing, bro?
How are you?
You good?
David.
Nice to meet you.
All right, bro.
We got our luggage.
Now we're going to go to the Airbnb, check in, then come back out
and eat some food.
What's up, guys?
Nate Getz.
Nate Getz.
All right, so here we are in San Pedro town.
This is the heart of San Pedro.
Here in town, you guys are going to find three roads
that you guys are going to be driving
on a golf cart.
Here is the front street.
As you can see, it's only one way up.
Then we got the middle street, which is one way down.
And then we got the third street, which is the back street.
It's a two-way street.
That makes up town here, all right?
And just like that, we're in a golf cart.
Awesome, love this.
It's all you have to do when you come into San Pedro,
get on a golf cart.
It's the best way to explore the island.
So we're going this way.
We're going north.
This is amazing.
Small Caribbean town with so many golf carts.
It is the golf cart capital of Central America, I think.
Right here we have the beach.
There's a bunch of restaurants and more golf carts.
Here we have the beach.
So we just crossed over the bridge,
on this side of the island is completely different.
It's more desert, you know, empty spaces, everything is along one road.
So we're going back to town, let's find some food.
What is that?
Is that a boat?
We're entering the town now
and as you can see the Sun
is setting. It's a super
cute town. There's cigar shops,
more souvenir shops and lots and lots of
restaurants and our first stop is a pupusaria, El Salvadorian food.
Elvis kitchen?
Yeah, Elvis.
Hi here.
Buenas, ¿qué tal? ¿Cómo estás?
¿Esos son pupusas de dónde? ¿De El Salvador?
El Salvador.
Exacto, porque no hay otra pupusería del mundo.
Here we go. This is the best thing from El Salvador.
These are the famous Chicharron, cheese and beans.
Yes.
You know what's amazing?
This is the only country that does this in El Salvador.
We have mixed chicken,
beans, chicken.
So that's tomato
sauce and the
cabbage, yeah,
over the repollo.
This is traditional pupusa, ok, we come,
we bring the other one, that is the tasty one,
the cheese when it comes out like this, look.
Now we're going to add the cabbage,
and now we're going to add the sauce.
If you want it spicy, it's on the table.
We have the meat sauce here.
That's the classic one. It's a combination of pork, beans, and cheese.
And also we have the chicken, beans, and cheese.
That's the second classic.
And we also have some hot sauce, right?
So we have our original hot sauce.
Are we ready for this?
I'll first try it alone.
So the way you can eat this is by hand, or you can do it like this.
That's the way we eat in Peru.
That's real.
Oh my god.
It's so moist. It's like falling apart.
Look at that. It's breaking.
You have cheese, you have cabbage.
That's good.
That's the best part.
You got mozzarella.
Alright, I'm going to get some of this hot sauce.
This is Belizean hot sauce.
They use a lot of habanero here in Belize.
It's called Mary's Charm.
Oh, Mary's Charm.
That's what I was going to say.
Let's go on the other side.
All right.
It's spicy.
It's spicy.
It's a nice eat.
My brother, my daughter.
I think what makes this dish is like the sauciness, the mess.
And you know, it's not like an arepa.
Arepa is always a little harder.
This is softer.
Thank you.
It's more crumbly.
Yeah.
What is that?
For me, it's actually, we mix it up with different type of panero,
like the yellow one, the green one, the red one, roast it with garlic.
Actually, it's like a honey garlic roast garlic hot top.
So he said this is really, really hot,
so I'm just going to put a little bit on my finger.
I don't want to stuff myself.
I had a pupusa in a half.
That's the thing with pupusas.
You have two pupusas and you're done.
Happy birthday, happy birthday.
Wow.
All right, we're going
to our next spot.
Right here.
Like, literally one, ten, like seven seconds of clips.
Are you ready for a taco?
I'm ready for a taco.
Let's go.
Vamos.
All right.
We're going to our next spot.
All right.
We're going to our next spot.
All right.
We're going to our next spot.
All right.
All right.
In India, it's a puri.
What are you making here?
So it's like a chicken empanada here,
so small chicken pies, fish pies, and that goes into
the fryer directly?
Yes.
Yes.
This is the fryer then.
Raisha's making empanadas, a few different styles.
There's Belizean empanadas.
Cual es ese?
Esos son los garnachas.
Garnachas.
Thank you.
I'm starting to speak now.
Wow, it's massive.
How many fried eggs do you sell a night?
It's gonna be probably
40 to 60.
40 to 60? Yeah.
So Enrique's
letting me try a fish empanada.
So it looks soft, crispy,
oily.
Okay.
How many
juices
do you have?
We got watermelon, orange, banana, papaya,
lime, horchata, cantaloupe, and tamarind.
What is the watermelon?
I mean, to me, it looks like a huge Indian curry.
It's a flour dough.
Throw it in oil.
And then it puffs up, right?
Yeah.
Open it up and they put chicken.
They put, uh, what else would be oldest?
Cheese.
That's it?
That's it.
Yeah.
Thank you.
That's good.
That is good.
All right.
Nice bean flavor.
Cheese.
Thank you so much.
Nice bears.
That's good.
Mm-hmm.
Absolutely love it.
It's got to throw in some spice though, right?
What do you think?
This is an island, so it's usually
really hot, but today we have
a nice breeze coming through.
This is a super chill place. You got the beach, you can come partying,
come with your family, go out in the water, see the blue hole.
Go island hopping. This is a small town and it's gorgeous.
What is this? Horchata. Horchata?
Rice milk. Price at Neri's Tacos, fry jacks cost between $4 and $6.
This costs $2.50 and then empanadas are like $0.50 to $0.75
and that is Belizean,
right? So it's half. Cut the number in half, that's the U.S. dollar.
Dude, I can have like three days a day for less than two dollars.
Let's go to the next spot. One more spot where we got black and white.
White.
Let's do it.
This is the main road headed south. So this is the front.
We're headed south. South of the island.
The shark. Oh my god. That's amazing.
What's up man? What's up? What's up?
I love this place. Belize, man. Who knew? Who knew?
You know how they have that in Israel?
It's like, who knew? No, no, it's like Belize.
Here we go.
You've got to believe it.
You've got to believe it.
You've got to believe it.
It's unbelievable.
It's unbelievable.
And here we are at Black and White.
And as you can see, this is Garifuna culture.
So tomorrow night, they're going to put on like a real feast.
And here we are at Black and White.
And this is Garifuna culture.
Tomorrow, they're putting on a feast.
But tonight, we're going to go inside and meet the owner
and try some bitters, super strong alcohol.
I've had bitters in Ghana, I've had them in Barbados,
but today I'm trying them here in
Belize and as you can see it looks very similar
to Mama Juana in the Dominican Republic.
The thing is Mama Juana has different herbs, this one has more bark.
In this right here, rum.
Elysian rum.
That's right.
Mixed with herbs.
With herbs.
With space.
With space.
With space.
Here you go.
Here we go.
Ooh, better.
Mm-hmm.
There you go.
It's like medicine, it's like medicine.
Really good.
Get some of this, guys, some bitter.
If you have a girlfriend, get a bitter.
Yeah!
Thank you, I'll see you tomorrow, okay?
Take care, take care.
Thank you, guys.
Amigo, como estas?
Wow.
Grabale, compadre, tu grabale.
Listo, vida.
Aqui estan los tacos mexicanos, lleveselo, lleveselo.
Bien calentito.
How much does it cost you to eat 2.50 Belizeans,
which is $1.25 US dollars?
There is no other offer better than this one on this island
and the other one where no one lives.
Two of meat.
Two?
With chili or without chili?
For me, chili.
You're getting it with chili.
Of course.
I have to, man.
Where are you from in Mexico?
Are you from Mexico or not?
I'm not from over there, but I'm from here in Belize.
Oh, you're from here.
Perfect.
One beef and one pork, right, brother?
You put the cilantro, put the steak, tomato sauce, spice.
I'm going to try it.
I'm going to try it.
I'm going to try it.
I'm going to try it.
I'm going to try it.
Spice it up,
guacamole, and taco.
Delicioso.
Let's do this.
I'll tell you, some of the best experiences of my life
I've been eating taco like this.
Yeah?
Like this in La Ciudad de Mexico.
Ah, ooh.
La Ciudad de Mexico.
Gorditas.
Ah, yo exploto por gorditas.
Quesadillas, ,, pambazo.
Well, these are food, aren't real.
It's a mixed fusion of that and .
¿Qué tal, primo?
¿Está bueno?
Thursday, they have a game on the island called the Chicken Drop.
You can't miss it. So remember, Thursdays.
Thursdays, they do the Chicken Drop, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
So we're here at Paradise Ice Cream,
the number one ice cream shop online on the island.
Paradise.
Paradise.
Paradise.
Okay, so they have over
20 different flavors.
Absolutely nuts, chocolate, suicide, chunky, chocolate brownie.
I mean, it's endless, right? Banana, foster, what's your favorite?
Chocolate Suicide.
Chocolate Suicide.
I'll take one Chocolate Suicide for me.
You?
I'll take the Red Velvet, Southern Bourbon Butter Pecan.
Maybe that's good.
That looks good.
Oh, I want cone.
Big cone.
That's
a big one.
Huh?
So what's this one?
This is the Southern Bourbon Butter Pecan.
Thank you so much.
You want one?
Sure.
That's a big one, huh?
Yeah.
This is Chocolate Suicide.
Yeah.
This is the last spot.
We are super excited to try this.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
Nate, it's good? Fantastic, huh?
Chocolate suicide.
That's some dark chocolate.
All the ones I've seen are very sparkly
compared to this. Fantastic flavor.
Yeah. Oh. It's a good end.
Good end to the evening.
So much chocolate. What a day, huh?
First day in Belize.
Belize. Belize.
Gotta Belize. Gotta Belize.
And that's it. The day has been long.
Started off at 10 in the morning,
taking off from Miami. We were delayed like 40 minutes.
Flew to Belize City, got in the car, drove, had some food,
got to the port, came over here with Speedboat.
And this is San Pedro.
Amazing.
They have every cuisine.
It's like endless.
They have lots of ice creams.
They have a lot of food.
And look, they even have an Indian Chinese restaurant.
So, all to my Indian and China fans.
Well, guys, I hope you enjoyed the video.
I'll see you tomorrow in Belize.
Let's go.
