“HE SOLD US OUT!” Gina Hinojosa Blasts Greg Abbott Over Elon Musk’s Billionaire Deals in Texas

History in this election from San Antonio. First time voters than the last midterm. It's incredible. It shows that people are ready for change. People are believing again. They're showing up to vote. Young people, they're back. You understood the assignment, but extra credit work to do. Where are my teachers? You know about extra credit work to do because this election is going to be very close. We are up against big, big money, big, big power, and we need to bring the full force of the people in this election. So make some noise if you have already voted. That's not bad. Here's what I want you to do. I want you to get two more people to the polls. Two more people on Tuesday. You can each find two more people because that could be the difference in this election. That is your power. is too important to take for granted. This is a fight we cannot lose. We are in the fight of our lives. It is the fight of our generation. It is the fight to decide who does Texas belong to. We just live here. It is why we need you all in. And in this fight, because Texas is the epicenter of the world, and nobody else matters, we are the epicenter, we are ground zero for the one fight. We are the world's only living trillionaire right here in Texas. Business dealings with Greg Abbott, it is why I went to district court in Travis County and filed a lawsuit against Greg Abbott. He refuses to hand over because he says they are, quote, intimate and embarrassing. I'm missing. Eso no es. He's embarrassed that he sold us out. He's embarrassed about. Because here's what we already know. We know that he has plans two days after the election to sell our beach, Boca Chica Beach in South Texas, to Elon Musk. We launch 456 rockets a year. When each rocket launches, homes shake in that area like it is an earthquake. This is where I grew up. That is the reality we are dealing with. We know that this summer, Greg Abbott intervened to redirect a $100 million broadband contract to Elon Musk. So corrupt that even Republicans in Austin said this is too much and shut down the whole broadband program. Musk has received $1.7 billion in property tax breaks from, from Texas. Yes, sis. The last time I checked, the rest of us pay full price on, no? No? No. And in fact, they have increased 85% under Greg Abbott. The reason we pay more and we get less in taxes is because we're all paying the Greg Abbott corruption tax. Say it with me. The Greg corruption tax is why our schools are shutting down, sold out. When he received $12 million from an out-of-state billionaire to pass his voucher scam. Took a billion dollars from our neighborhood schools to give to out-of-state, I'm sorry, to give to private schools. That's an example of the what? The Greg Abbott corruption tax. The Greg Abbott corruption tax is why our electricity bills have skyrocketed the last few years. He saw this out during winter storm Uri when Texans were freezing literally to death in their homes. Gas companies withheld the gas our grid needed until they could make billions in record profits. And now we are all paying for those profits. That's an example of the what? The Greg Abbott corruption tax. The Greg Abbott corruption tax is why data centers have descended upon Texas. Thank you so much for joining us. by the richest tax breaks in the whole country that Greg Abbott signed into law. We have no protections for our water. We have no protections for our electricity costs, our land, our rights. Greg Abbott received $22 million from the data center interests. And now we all pay the price. And that's an example of the what? The Greg Abbott corruption tax. Because Greg Abbott is the most corrupt governor in all of Texas history. And 80 million dollars in lies about me on TV. You might have seen him. You might have seen one or two. 180 million dollars against little old me. And for the record, no, I have never not once supported an income tax. I've never met a Texas politician who supports an income tax, I don't think it exists. I've never not once voted to increase property taxes, and no, I am not working with teachers to try to trans your kids. And neither are they. Greg Abbott is telling lies about me because he can't run on his record, can he? Texas has the most people without health insurance of any state in the union, the most children without health insurance of any state in America, people being disconnected from their electricity because they cannot afford to pay their bills in Texas of any state in America in this state that is the energy powerhouse of the nation and beyond Texans can't afford to keep the Keep the lights on. We have the most bankruptcies of any state in America, and it is our small businesses that are struggling to keep their doors open. My friends, is Greg Abbott's record. He owns it. He is trying to hide from it, just like he is trying to hide from the voters of Texas by refusing to debate me. If he is not man enough to debate me, then he doesn't deserve to be the governor of Texas. My agenda will be to secure the American dream. The American dream that I grew up understanding was the promise of this country and absolutely of Texas, where if you work hard, you can have a good life. Remember that? For one job was enough, where hard work paid. We secure the American dream in Texas by saving Texas public schools and putting money in your pocket. Public schools, because they're important to our kids, they're important to our community, they're important to our economy, but they are essential for the American dream. There can be no American dream without strong public schools. Texas public schools tell every Texas child you can be anything you want to be if you work hard. That is the gateway to the American dream. We are Texas public schools. They are Friday night lights. They are the largest employer in so many of our counties. They are enshrined in our Texas Constitution as being essential for the preservation of our liberties. I want you to make some noise if you are a proud product of Texas public schools. Me too. If you are an educator or if you work on a school campus, I want you to raise your hand. Thank you. Thank you. These teachers, these educators, they work hard for our kids. They work hard against the odds against a state trying to keep our public schools down and please know that help is on the way. Have the Texas Education Agency Commissioner and appoint an educator to be our education commissioner. Greg Abbott's corrupt vendor contracts and use that money to pay our teachers to be the highest paid in the nation. The rigged A through F accountability That is based on a deeply flawed and rigged star test, and we will end the star test once and for all in Texas. Listen, I still have a son in public school, and I crave accountability for his education and for all our kids, but we need true accountability, not rigged accountability for Texas public schools. We secure the... You can dream in Texas by saving Texas public schools and putting money in your pocket. And when I say money in your pocket, I mean real money, $1,500, $1,500 to every Texas household. It is the Greg Abbott corruption tax refund. Like Trump's plan, we have that money in Austin, in a savings account, hoarded by Greg Abbott. I say, look, that money doesn't belong to the politicians, it belongs to the people. Send it back. Gas and diesel tax in the state of Texas, because gas prices are too damn high. Freeze electricity rates and make sure the corporations, including the data centers, are paying their fair share. By the richest men in the world, that is the least they can do. I will ensure every Texas child has quality health care. We are a wealthy state. We have enough to take care of our kids, make sure that they get the health care they need. We will when I'm governor. All of us with health insurance, we pay more and more and more, and it's harder and harder and harder to see the doctors we need, get the medication we need, the procedures we need. I will ban those bad faith denials in the state of Texas and rein in the insurance companies. What kind of standouts are we? We're asking for what we already paid for. We're just asking for what we already worked for. Because we know this is a world economic powerhouse. I launched this campaign with words my grandmother said. No te dejes. Grandma Hinojosa used to always tell me as a little girl, no te dejes. Know your worth and fight to defend it. And that's what this election is about. We know our worth. is about defending it. That's why we are seeing historic turnout in Texas right now because we know we deserve better. In fact, we're Texans. We deserve the best. I ask every last one of you to be all in like you've never been all in because we are in a moment in time, a moment in history that That sometimes we wonder, we don't know how we got here. We sure didn't ask to be in this moment but it has chosen us. We didn't choose it but it chose every single one of us. I am a woman of faith and I believe that with everything in my soul.
