Lion life cycle, lion documentary, lion cubs: When new males take over a lion pride, they kill or drive out the cubs. In the Serengeti, that single event accounts for more than a quarter of all cub deaths.

A 110-day pregnancy, cubs hidden alone for their first weeks, a creche where lionesses nurse each other's young, the constant threat of a pride takeover, first hunts at about 11 months and a young male's exile at two to four years.
