The Picture of Dorian Gray (by Oscar Wilde) | An English Literature Video Project by Group 5 #BeKindBeCool

The most disturbing thing about The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde is not that a portrait can grow old while its owner remains young. It is that a person can become increasingly corrupted while still appearing perfectly beautiful to the world.

Dorian Gray makes a wish: to remain young and beautiful forever, while his portrait bears the burden of time and every consequence of his actions. But what begins as a dream of eternal youth slowly turns into a nightmare of vanity, temptation, and moral decay.

What if beauty became the only thing society valued? In a world obsessed with youth, perfection, and appearances, how far would someone go to preserve an image of themselves that the world admires?

Our adaptation explores the dangerous relationship between outward beauty and inner morality. Is it possible to escape the consequences of our choices simply by hiding them from the world? And when the truth is reflected back at us, can we still recognize who we have become?

Can Dorian Gray escape the fate of his own reflection?
