OUT OF FOCUS | A Short Film Inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma

Where is the line between showing kindness and imposing what we believe is best for someone else?

Inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma (1815), Out of Focus brings the classic story into the modern world of social media. Emma Woodhouse, a popular relationship influencer, believes she knows what is best for everyone. When Emma persuades her friend Harriet to make romantic decisions based on her advice, a series of misunderstandings begins to unfold. As tensions rise, Emma’s well-intentioned attempts to help Harriet begin to blur the line between offering support and taking control of someone else’s choices.
