We gave four nail artists six mystery themes to choose from, and each one had to turn their card into a fall-inspired manicure. The results? Vintage details, abstract patterns, pie-inspired nails, and all the pumpkins and leaves. Four very different looks, and not a turkey in sight!

AI GeneratedFour nail artists participate in a creative challenge to design Thanksgiving-themed manicures without using any turkey imagery. Each artist draws a mystery fall-themed prompt, utilizing various stamping and sponging techniques to create distinct looks ranging from nostalgic memories and leather-inspired abstracts to festive feasts and harvest botanicals.
Thanksgiving nails without a single turkey.
Count us in. We've got six mystery themes,
four nail artists, and no idea what we're getting ourselves into.
But whatever we draw, we create.
So let's see what we get.
Each of these mystery themes have a little something to do with fall.
First up, Aubrey. She's giving those cards a good shuffle
and autumn memories. Think nostalgic,
maybe a little bit of vintage
and I'm up next. I've got abstract autumn, no obvious Thanksgiving
imagery, just fall vibes. Okay, I can totally work with that. Carol's next.
and she's got the feast
we're talking pies, drinks, all
of those Thanksgiving favorites, just no turkey. And last but
not least, Devin. She's going full-on harvest mode
with harvest event, pumpkins, gourds, fall botanicals,
she's definitely got options. Now that we got
our themes let's see what we can actually create with
them, Aubrey's got her plates picked out
and the whole lineup of fall colors. I'm already expecting
to see a lot of browns in this challenge. Her theme is autumn memories.
which got me thinking
What comes to mind when you think of Thanksgiving?
And hey, you gotta use what you got. She's got her
cotton grabber to hold on to that little tiny piece
of sponge. Something tells me we might be
seeing that trick again.
Ooh, I like where Aubrey's going with the sponging technique.
If you're looking to add a little bit
of depth to your manicure, give this a try.
Just dab on another polish color to add some interest to your base.
like the warm beige almost gives it a look
of aged paper before the stamping even goes
on.
Next she's adding a handwritten touch with a cursive text stamp,
along with some little
cute fall details like flowers and a cart full of pumpkins.
definitely giving cozy autumn day and I'm here for it.
What comes to mind when you think of
Thanksgiving? I mean, maybe it's family you haven't seen in forever,
or eating way too much and falling
into a food coma while someone in the family
is yelling at the football game on TV. To be honest
like actually that last one sounds very familiar.
Next up it's me. For my abstract autumn theme I
was completely inspired by leather work
and leather tooling. Think bags, belts,
boots even journals all those rich earthy tones
and ornate floral patterns
and told you I had a feeling we'd
be seeing this technique again. Great minds
think alike because I'm using
the same sponging technique as Aubrey I'm keeping
my base pretty sheer but I want
to build up some richness with a burnt umber
polish to mimic that worn textured look
of leather. Now this is where I'm having
some fun with the abstract autumn.
Instead of using usual fall leaves and
pumpkins, I'm gonna go
with these ornate patterns inspired by tooled leather.
With so many designs on this plate, I can give each nail its own little
personality while keeping everything
tied together with that deep earthy
brown. Have you ever walked into a leather or a boot store? I can
practically smell it now.
Gosh, I love the smell of leather. Alright Carol, I'm
seeing some fun bright colors for fall. Bring it
on. She's going with a pie inspired manicure.
complete with fruity fillings flaky crust patterns
and some colors you wouldn't normally expect for
Thanksgiving nails, I'm curious to see how this comes together
when you think of the feast like
what's the first thing that comes to mind? Is it mom's homemade stuffing
or dad's turkey fresh off
the grill, hmm, and OMG can we talk about
the homemade gravy for a second? That is the bane of
my existence, I can never seem to get it right. Oh look
at that crust pattern, such a clever little
detail, it's in those small touches that make
the inspiration recognizable without having to stamp
an entire pie on every nail, okay now I want pie
and this challenge is totally making me hungry
and for our fourth and final look we've got Dev
and by judging by her color palette she's going
all in on that harvest theme.
She's diving right into the pumpkins with a little bit of reverse
stamping, making
those details really pop against
her gold background.
And ooh, look at those little
tiny details. I love how she's mixing things up
with this cute little fall French tip. It's a fun
way to play with the different designs
while making the whole manicure still feel connected.
Plus those leaves and botanicals are a perfect finishing touch.
Because let's be honest, like not
every nail needs another pumpkin, right?
And of course, every good manicure needs a top coat to
seal it in. Now look at how different these turned out.
Aubrey's is giving those nostalgic autumn
memories. Mine is about rich leather inspired patterns.
Carol is serving up a little Thanksgiving
dessert and Devin is bringing in those classic harvest vibes.
From handwritten details to
abstract patterns, pie inspired nails,
and pumpkin galore, who knew Thanksgiving could
look this different?
And the best part?
Not a single turkey was needed.
Alright, now let's give these manicures their moment.
Let's check
this out.
Now I've gotta know, which
of these four looks would you wear for Thanksgiving?
What would you create if turkeys were off the table?
Tell us in the comments and we'll see you in the next one.
