Welcome to Good Night L.A. I'm Christine Devine.
Severe flooding continues along the coast
as El Nino fuels record-breaking tides.
Several areas are impacted
with water breaching seawalls and flooding homes.
Fox 11's Ed Laskos reports from Sunset Beach in Huntington Beach.
It just is the latest round of these destructive king tides,
more than leaving their mark here on Sunset Beach.
Joe, away we go into the story.
Pacific Coast Highway even closed
for several hours because of the flood water.
Check this. Lots of standing water still left along here.
And this is just the beginning of the mess that's left behind.
Watch.
It's the cleanup from the aftermath
of the latest king tide and all its flooding.
Never seen it like this.
After 22 years.
Never has it been this high.
You are walking right through it.
Bayview Drive on Sunset Beach, all underwater.
Water that's from the canal that came up fast.
It just rushed within 20 minutes.
It was up above my boot.
Came up that fast.
It came up that fast like that,
and it stayed like that for a good three hours.
First responders here, moving through all
the high water, they're on damage patrol.
The king tide rushing the water from the canal over PCH,
even flooding out the other side.
We thought we would be okay until
the water breached the seawall over there,
and we just watched it slowly come over
and creep up to the house and flood the inside.
everything is underwater everything oh
that size says it all even with these sandbags they are
lined up everywhere the water it just blasted right through today
when it came right
right in from the corner
and it moved those sandbags like it was a pillow just just slid up
right on the side trying to get ready again for tomorrow
because we know we're going to have the
same issue tomorrow and how frustrating is that i mean you clean up
and it's again tomorrow yeah
it's exhausting. Now back here,
it is exhausting because the cleanup still goes on and then
they're expecting yet another round
of these king tides tomorrow morning. And yes, they're
expecting even more flooding and more damage.
For now, we're here in Sunset Beach. Back to the west
side we go. It's wild. All right, also in Orange County,
record-breaking king tides are flooding.
Newport Beach for third straight day.
It's a live look from photojournalist Mike Armijo.
water level surged to an unprecedented 8.4 feet forcing officials
to temporarily shut down water
traffic under the Newport Boulevard Bridge
and in LA County a Redondo Beach waterfront bar refused
to close today after high tide seawater surged inside

Adam Kruger here with your forecast,
and you heard about it right there.
That's our big weather story in the short term.
These king tides the next few mornings.
We continue with the possibility or likelihood,
I should say, of coastal flooding tomorrow morning
and again on Thursday morning,
and then we start seeing the tides gradually get a little bit lower.
What we're not seeing right now, though, big waves and strong swells.
That would make conditions even worse.
So again, the coastal flooding with us through Thursday.
We're looking at the morning high tides likely topping eight feet.
The water level is running about a foot to a foot
and a half higher than normal conditions.
That's giving us those near record levels of the tides.
And it's going to be more of what you've been seeing,
flooding of some parking lots and roads,
homes, businesses, things of that nature.
The other big weather story for us has
to do with what's coming at the end of the week.
So we've got an area of low pressure here, a storm system.
It's about a thousand miles away from L.A.
It's going to start to affect us
in the next couple of days with clouds showing up.
But rain, unfortunately, may arrive for our Halloween weekend here.
So as we look at Futurecast going into, well,
tomorrow is kind of a mix of clouds, early sun later in the day.
Thursday, mostly cloudy, but we're not seeing any rain just yet.
As we go into Thursday night, Friday morning,
I think we start to find some very light showers showing up.
That's a look at 7 a.m. on Friday.
Going through the rest of the day Friday,
maybe one or two isolated showers here or there.
But the bulk of the moisture is coming this weekend.
So switching it over to a wider view on the model here,
and again, this is that same Friday time frame where we left off,
a little bit of that spotty light rain here,
but the low is still far away at this point,
so that's going to bring the higher likelihood of more widespread
or heavier rain whenever it arrives.
But there's some question marks still on this.
Not all models agreeing this far out.
It's still several days out we're talking about.
So here we are Saturday, Halloween, Saturday evening.
I think there's some scattered, at least light rain in the forecast.
We might get some heavier rain Sunday, but it depends on the track.
This model brings us low a little farther south.
Others suggest it's closer to us.
So if it's more so right over us,
we would get some heavier rain on Sunday.
Quick look at tomorrow.
We don't expect the rain, but clouds early,
sun in the afternoon, temperatures topping out in the 70s.
You see the highs right there.
Very pleasant for tomorrow.
It is going to get cooler at the end of the week.
And our coolest day will be on Halloween,
Saturday, highs only in the 60s.
Christine. Former mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt
is speaking out on social media tonight,
follows billionaire Rick Caruso's announcement yesterday
that he plans to vote for Mayor Karen
Bass in next Tuesday's election.
Pratt wrote, quote, Rick, you are the one who got me to run
against Karen Bass in the first place.
Last year, I hit you up and said I had to run for either
governor or mayor. I didn't want to run against you out of respect.
So I asked what I should do.
you said go after Bass
