JUST GROW A MONEY TREE | The Real Reason You Stay Stuck Financially
What if the reason you are struggling financially has less to do with how hard you work and more to do with how you think about money? Many people spend years working harder, trying to save more, and looking for ways to increase their income, yet they continue to struggle to build lasting wealth. The key to changing your financial future may be understanding the principles that make wealth creation possible.
In this message, Myron Golden explores the real reasons people remain financially stuck and how changing your approach to money can open the door to new opportunities. Building wealth is not simply about earning more. It is about learning how to create value, solve problems, recognize opportunities, and develop the skills that allow you to generate greater income.
The core idea is simple but powerful: if you want to change your financial results, you must change the way you think about creating wealth.
You’ll learn:
Why working harder does not always lead to greater wealth
How your beliefs about money can influence your financial decisions
The difference between earning money and building wealth
Why creating value for others is essential to increasing your income
How to identify the habits and thinking patterns that keep you financially stuck
Why developing valuable skills can create new wealth-building opportunities
How to shift from simply trading time for money to thinking strategically about income
Why changing your approach to wealth creation can transform your financial future
This message will challenge you to examine your current financial mindset, recognize what may be holding you back, and start thinking differently about how wealth is created. If you are ready to stop repeating the same financial patterns and start building a better future, this message will help you consider the changes that could move you forward.
The speaker uses the metaphor of a \"money tree\" to explain how to build a business that generates perpetual, effortless wealth. By shifting focus from personal desires to the actual needs of the marketplace, entrepreneurs can create scalable systems—like books or playbooks—that provide continuous value to others and sustainable passive income for the creator.
We've all heard it said that money doesn't grow on trees,
and we've heard it said so
emphatically and so certainly that we just conclude it must be true.
Well, money doesn't grow on trees.
Your parents are probably the first ones
who told you when you ask for something that you
desired that cost more than they desired to spend for it, right?
Money doesn't grow on trees, right?
Well, we believe it without ever having thought about it.
Well, I'm going to tell you something.
I've thought about it.
I've thought about it at great length.
I've come to a conclusion.
That money does grow on trees, but money only grows on money trees.
So if you want to get unstuck financially,
if you want to get out of a rut financially,
just grow a money tree.
Now, I know that may sound like an oversimplification,
but I am not just going to make that as a
statement.
I am going to prove to you
that money definitely does grow on trees.
In fact, in fact, some of you have experienced today.
Money grows on trees. I'll prove it to you.
And then I'm going to get into where we're headed.
How many of you this morning had orange juice?
Nobody. Okay. Anybody have apple juice? You had
orange juice or apple juice? Neither one. Okay.
Okay. How many of you this morning had coffee?
Where does coffee come from? Coffee beans.
Where do coffee beans grow? Out of the ground. I don't
know if it's a tree. Maybe it is. Bush, tree, eh, it's a thing.
How many of you slept in a bed last night?
Anybody sleep in a bed?
How many of you, your bed is made,
your bed frame is made of wood?
Oh, quite a few of you, huh.
Did the furniture store give you that bed for free?
No, they sold you the bed that was made from the wood
that grew out of the ground.
Now that's one way to look at the fact
that money grows on trees.
So many things that are made of wood that are sold to us,
Grow out of the ground.
For a furniture manufacturer, money grows on trees.
For Chiquita Banana, money grows on trees.
For Simply Orange or Tropicana, money grows on trees.
on trees.
Mott's Apple Juice.
Their money grows on trees.
And by the way, this is a very important thing to observe.
And you say, but Myron,
are you saying I need to go into the furniture business?
Can you slow, pump the brakes, baby?
No, I'm not saying you need to go into the,
I'm not saying you need to go into the furniture business
or the fruit juice business or the fruit growing business.
That's not what I'm saying.
I'm just showing you that for some businesses,
money directly grows on trees.
But for all businesses.
Metaphorically, money grows in all businesses.
A tree is one of the most important metaphors of life.
How important is it?
It's so important that in Genesis chapter 2,
when God created everything out of nothing in Genesis chapter 1,
in Genesis chapter 2, he introduces us to the trees of abundance.
When the Lord God commanded the man, saying,
Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.
But of the tree that's in the midst of the garden, God has said,
you shall not eat of it, neither shall you...
I mean, God said, you shall not eat of it.
For the day thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die.
So there was trees they were allowed
to eat off, the trees of abundance.
There was the one tree they lacked.
They were not allowed to eat off of it.
Trees are a metaphor of life.
You took the fruit from the tree
that she wasn't supposed to take the fruit from,
and man lost a lot of privileges as a result of that.
Trees are a metaphor of life.
David, the man after God's own heart, the psalmist said,
if you will meditate on the word of God day
and night, here's what he said.
He said, you will be like a tree planted by the rivers of waters.
Isn't that interesting?
Of all the things you said you'll be like, you know, you think,
you're talking about something strong.
You shall be like a rock.
No, that's not what he said.
He said, you'll be like a tree.
When Jesus died, he hung on a cross,
and in some places in the Scripture,
it says he hung on a tree.
Trees are a metaphor of life.
Why?
Because trees are not just a big piece
of wood growing out of the ground.
A tree is a systematic mechanism
that contains multiple systems
that produce
and provide in perpetuity.
If we can figure out how to duplicate
that systematic mechanism
in the arena of money, we will be on to something so great
that it will absolutely blow our minds.
I was reading in Isaiah this morning, and it said,
God made him a promise.
If you will hearken unto my words, I will make your trees to produce.
And so how can I take this?
Instead of looking at a tree, it's a piece of wood.
It grows out of the ground.
It provides us shade when it's hot.
It produces some fruit for us that we can eat.
Instead of just looking at it like that,
what if we look at the systems of a tree?
I remember when my brother was in college.
He said, man, I learned about
this thing called open systems and closed systems.
Really?
What's an open system and a closed system?
He said, an open system is a system that does not have constraints.
Therefore, the things that grow in it don't have constraints
on the direction they can grow and how much they can grow.
But a closed system constrains the direction of the growth
and the magnitude of the growth.
He said, if you plant a tree really, really close to a wall,
the tree will grow away from the wall.
Isn't that fascinating?
If you plant a tree in a pot,
the tree can only grow as big as the pot can hold the roots.
And what we all desire to have,
whether we know it or not, is we desire to have
tree systems in our business, in our finances.
And when we do, it changes everything.
So we're going to talk about four systems.
of the tree, and I'm going to go
to my trusty digital blackboard, and I'm going to draw a
picture of a money tree, and I was literally thinking about,
like, when you have a money
tree, at least one, you can have more than one,
but when you have at least one money tree,
making money feels effortless,
and I think most people would rather
have effortless profitability
than effortful unprofitability, and so how do we create that?
So we recognize
We recognize the systems.
The first system we're going to talk about is,
and I'm going to start this system down here.
The first system we're going to talk about is the taproot system.
So you plant a seed in the ground.
So this is the ground.
You plant a seed in the ground.
You have a taproot system.
It is the main root.
It is the main root that grows from the seed.
It grows deep.
The taproot, this is the taproot system.
It goes, this taproot system goes way down, okay?
So you have the taproot system.
Now, the interesting thing about the taproot system
is that it is what it is.
In the taproot system,
your taproot and your money tree
has to be the market's desired outcome.
So fascinating to me how hard this is for people to get.
And it's so simple.
And when I say it's hard for people to get,
like I've had clients who this was hard for,
it was hard for them to get this.
I have friends, it's hard for them to get this,
I have family members, and I've talked
to them at great length.
I was just with a friend last week,
over the weekend, and I hadn't seen him in probably
20 something, maybe 20 years,
maybe a little bit more than 20 years, but it was good to
see him.
And he said, hey man, you know, how can I,
how can you, how can I, you help my wife sell
her book?
I said, I don't know if I can help your wife sell her book.
I said, it depends on who she wrote her book for.
If she wrote her book for her, I can't help her sell it.
I can't, I don't know how, because, and I told him this,
and I tell people this, and maybe I need to find
a more clear way of saying it,
but when you start a business,
never start your business in here.
Never start your business in here.
You start your business in here,
you have made the mistake of mistakes.
You're an author, you write a book, you write the book.
I've always wanted to write a book.
I've always wanted to tell my story.
Nobody cares about your story.
And I love you, but I don't care about your story.
I don't want to read your story.
Neither does anybody else.
Nobody cares.
And you say, Myron, that's so cold.
Okay, is it cold or is it helpful?
And sometimes helpful is cold.
Helpful doesn't really care how you feel.
In fact, the scripture says,
faithful are the wounds of a friend,
but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
Would you rather me tell you the painful truth
or a pleasant lie?
Because the reality is,
until you stop being self-absorbed
and desiring to do the things you desire to do,
you will live on the struggle bus
and you might even turn it into a motorhome.
Because the reality is,
Any business that you are going to start,
it has to start with the marketplace's desired outcome.
What? What do we?
What's the word that we use
to describe the marketplace's desired outcome?
Starts with a V. What's the word?
Value. That's right. Value. Value.
We have to give the marketplace something,
and here's what we say.
We say something of value.
But that's not clear enough.
That's not accurate enough.
It's not something of value.
You don't want to give the marketplace something of value.
You want to give the marketplace something they value.
Because something can be of value, and they don't value it.
Like, for instance,
you could create a valuable gardening guide.
That would be valuable.
It would be of value, but it wouldn't be valuable to me
because I have no intention of starting a garden.
And so just because I'm good at something,
if the marketplace doesn't desire it,
then I'll just do that thing that I'm good at because I like it.
The thing that I like, I'll just do it because I like it,
but I'm not going to do it for money.
I'm not going to do it to build a business
Because me building a business is.
is founded upon my ability
to observe the marketplace-stated,
desired outcome
and my ability to create that for them.
I don't know how to create it for them.
Well, you learn how to create something they don't value.
Go learn how to create something they do.
But the only reason you're going
to do that is because you stop being self-absorbed
and you stop being selfish and you stop thinking
about what you desire to get out of the equation
and start thinking about what they desire.
See it.
I didn't understand the statement when I first heard it.
Zig Ziglar, I think, is the person who originated it.
If you help enough other people get what they want,
you can have everything you want.
I think this is what he meant.
So I don't want to write,
I have no desire to write a book that I desire to write.
I only desire to write a book
the marketplace desires to pay for to read.
Anything in business, anything in business I desire to create,
it needs to start in the soil as a taproot
of the marketplace's desired outcome.
Now, I could have named this video
How to Grow a Business Really Successfully.
You know who would care about that?
People who care about growing a business really successfully.
They'd probably get 57 views
because that's what I know how to talk about.
And that's my area of expertise.
And then I'd get 57 views.
I'd probably get more than that
just because I have subscribers.
But if I didn't have subscribers,
that's all I would get.
But because I named this video Just Grow a Money Tree,
I could probably have 25,000 views
by this time tomorrow morning.
Why?
Because everybody wants a money tree.
And so instead of me having to go cherry pick people
that I think are going to be interested
in the thing that I want to create,
I talk about something that everybody cares about.
And by the way, by the time I get done,
this is going to make so much sense to you.
I can't believe it's taken me this long to get it.
That's what you're going to be thinking when I get done.
And I know this because, well, because it's simple and it's true.
And guess what?
It's doable for everybody watching
on YouTube and all of you in this room.
Doable.
But it has to be based on the marketplace's desired outcome,
and the word for their desired outcome is what?
Value.
So in order for me to have a taproot system,
I must discover what the marketplace values.
Because if I don't discover what the marketplace values,
I can't develop something
for the marketplace of value.
Here's what most people do.
They discover something they value.
This is what most business owners do.
This is why they struggle.
They discover something they value.
And then they go out into the marketplace
and put all of their energy
and they're trying to make the marketplace care about it.
And everything comes up crickets.
And the reason it comes up crickets
is because you fumbled on the one yard line.
I think that's a football, that's not baseball, right?
That's football.
Okay, yeah.
Yeah.
I know it's football, but I just do that to prove
that I'm not a football fan and I think I'm funny.
Okay, so you just messed up, you just messed up.
You had bases loaded, two outs and you struck out.
Why?
Because you're so self-absorbed,
you wanna do what you wanna do.
When I go to work, hey, hey, hey, hey,
the reason they call it work is because it's supposed to be hard.
If it was all easy and fun, they wouldn't call it work.
They call it play.
And so what you've got to do is you've got to discover what
the marketplace desires, their desired outcome.
Then you have to develop something really elegant.
Then you have to describe it in a way that's
so clear that they're like, oh, my goodness, this is it.
This is what I've been looking for.
But until you do a deep dive into the marketplace's desires,
you have no ability whatsoever to create
a solution that they will care about.
The root system, the taproot system, sorry, of your money tree
is the marketplace's desires, their desired outcome.
Then once you discover their desired outcome,
the second part of the taproot system
is the marketer's detailed observation of that desired outcome.
By the way, one of the ways you can do this
is by paying attention to your own journey.
So, fortunately for me,
I got marginally rich back in the early 2000s.
But fortunately for me, I lost it.
Some of it I blew, just blew it on stupid stuff.
I'm just keeping it real.
I upgraded my lifestyle way too fast.
But sometimes,
sometimes the best way to win is by losing.
And I lost a lot.
I bought a house for $1,027,000 in 2008, sold it in 2012 for $634,000.
Here's what that's called, a loss.
But guess what I learned?
I learned, don't do that no more.
Don't upgrade your life faster than
your ability to keep up with it.
Now, when I upgraded my life, I was doing fine.
But shortly thereafter, they snatched the rug out from under me.
Now, they can snatch the rug all they want to.
Brother man's going to be all right.
You know why?
Because I
was making probably $700,000 a month.
My business was doing $700,000 a month before I upgraded.
I lived in a normal neighborhood house, a little $400,000 house.
You know, 3,500 square feet, five bedrooms,
whatever, just in a normal neighborhood.
My business is doing $700,000 a month.
Business does over a million dollars a month.
I upgraded my life a little bit and have a bigger house.
And not that bigger is better, but it's better for me
because there's stuff I want to do that I want to do at home.
And I don't want to have to go to a gym, so I have a gym at my house.
I don't want to have to go to the driving range,
so I have a golf simulator at my house.
I don't like going to the movies, so if I want to watch a movie,
I'm watching it in my theater in my house.
But the reason that I bought this house for almost $3 million,
well, between the upgrades and stuff, almost $3 million in 2024,
and as of a month and a half ago,
paid the mortgage balance down to like $100,000.
Why?
Because I didn't step outside.
Like, if they pulled a rug out,
I can write a check for everything that I own right now
and pay off all the debt.
You say, well, Myron, if you could do that, why'd you borrow the money?
I borrowed the money because rich people
use other people's money to buy stuff.
We don't use our own money because we can use
their money cheaper than we can use our own.
But that's it.
I digress.
Taproot system, the marketplaces,
the taproot system is the marketplace's desired outcome,
the marketer's detailed observation, and then create,
and then the marketer creates a mechanism
designed to over-deliver value.
Now, in order for me to over-deliver value, and I'm not going to
write it because I've already written it
on the board a quadrillion times, we must know where
Where value comes from.
I cannot.
I cannot provide value to you until I understand,
until I perceive what's valuable to you.
In order for me to perceive what's valuable to you,
I have to know where value comes from.
I have to know where people's values come from
because your beliefs and your values are pretty much you.
So where do your values come from?
Well, values come from, I've discovered, primarily three places.
Are y'all ready? Say I'm ready.
Okay, number one, they come from past perceived voids.
Things that you felt like you've been missing in the past
are things that you desire in the present.
So past perceived voids create present pursued values.
So if you can talk to people in the marketplace
about what's been missing in their past,
you have value to offer.
That value is more important than how many degrees you have.
That value is more important than how many followers
or subscribers you have or how famous you are
or how rich you are or how smart you are
because they care about somebody being able
to provide for them something that they felt
like has been being kept from them.
Number one.
Number two, present perceived virtues
create present pursued values.
What does that mean?
Something that somebody believes is good right now.
If I believe that an outcome
that I desire is good,
I will spend as much money to have that desired outcome
as necessary within the boundaries
of my current spending comfort zone.
Y'all tracking?
Like yesterday, I ate lunch at Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club.
And it was like $25 for a chicken wrap
and some broccolini and some sweet potato fries.
So that was my lunch yesterday, right?
It was $25.
But when I go to Eddie V's to eat dinner,
and I'm only going to get a filet mignon,
hopefully broccolini, if not broccolini,
definitely Brussels sprouts, a salad,
a white ginger pear tea, and whatever my family gets,
it's going to be about $100 a person.
Why?
That's way inside my current spending comfort zone.
I went to Nobu one time with my team.
I didn't even know.
I had never heard of Wagyu steak, okay?
So I'm just keeping it real.
I had never heard of Wagyu steak.
And they're like, it's okay, it's like $35 an ounce.
I'm like, I see this, but it doesn't register.
One of the guys on my team ordered like,
I don't even remember how much.
It was like eight ounces of Wagyu steak.
Did I pay?
Well, sure, I paid for it.
I said, look, you get what you want.
Okay, anyway.
But my point is...
People will pay for things that they perceive are virtuous in the now.
Voids in the past, virtues in the present create values
that are pursuable by the people that you desire to sell to.
The third place value comes from is future
perceived visions create present pursued values.
So I have this vision of this outcome that I desire in the future.
It's clear.
And then somebody says, hey, by the way,
did you know the best way to get that thing
is by getting this thing?
And this thing only costs X amount of dollars.
Oh, I'm buying this thing.
Y'all tracking?
Okay.
So those are the three places value comes from.
So that's the tap root system, okay?
Then you have the root system,
which is, you know, all the rest of the roots.
And y'all have heard me say it a quadrillion times.
This part of the tree is gravitropic.
Your money tree, gravitropic.
Your money tree.
The nature of your money tree is gravitropic.
You say, Myron, what's gravitropic mean?
It means it grows towards gravity and away from light.
Your money tree has to grow away towards gravity and away from light.
So let me say this.
Towards gravity and away from light means
that the direction that precedes the direction
that you desire is down.
You desire to go up.
How many of y'all desire for your finances to go up?
Say me.
Okay, how many of you desire for your wealth to go up?
Say me.
How many desire for your following to go up?
Say me.
Okay, well, guess what?
Before any of that can go up, you've got to go down.
Down, when it comes to trees, always proceeds up.
If there is no down, there can be no up.
If you resist down, up resists you.
And so, why would somebody resist down, though, if this is necessary?
Because down is dark.
Down is dirty. Down is dense. Down is difficult.
And because it's dark and dense and dirty and
difficult, when I think about going down,
I'm like, and I've got all this. And by the way,
I've got all this. Not only am I going down, but I'm going down.
I have to push against all this
resistance, this dark, dense, damp, difficult, dirty earth.
I've got to push against it because
The nature of that part of the tree is gravitropic.
All of a sudden.
The shoot system of the tree.
And the shoot system of the tree grows out of the ground.
So here's what I want you to understand about
the nature of the root system.
I mean, I'm sorry, the nature of the root system.
The nature of the root system is that it is provisional.
This, it provides the energy.
It's provisional.
It provides the energy for the rest of the tree.
The root is essential.
And so the root work that you have to do is you have to go.
You have to find the energy to obsess over other people's
problems long enough to find an elegant solution.
And here's why that's hard.
Here's why that's hard.
Because you have your own problems.
And you're so focused on solving your own problems
that you don't even realize the only way, which way?
The only way to solve your problems is by solving somebody else's.
It doesn't matter if you go get a job.
The reason somebody's going to hire you
is because you can solve a problem for them
that they'd rather pay somebody to solve than solve it themselves.
Or you start a business.
You go find a client.
You solve a problem for them that they can't
figure out how to solve for themselves.
And so it's provisional.
It provides energy.
But it's also pleasurable.
It's pleasurable.
When you get, by the way, did you know that appetites are cultivated?
What does that mean?
People think they eat what they like.
But people actually like what they eat.
So the more you eat something, the more you like it.
The less you eat something, the less you like it.
You can cultivate an appetite for anything.
I mean, think about it.
You give a baby Coca-Cola, they're going to spit it out.
Until you just keep giving it to them, keep giving it to them,
keep giving it to them,
keep giving it to them until their system becomes addicted to it.
You give a baby alcohol, they're going to spit it out.
Those are cultivated.
Smoking a cigarette?
Nobody smokes a cigarette because it's appealing.
It stinks, and it makes you stink, and it makes your clothes stink,
and it makes your car stink.
You stink.
But see,
the people who are close to you, they're not going to tell you that.
I'm keeping it real.
You smoke.
I ain't hating on you.
I'm just telling you you stink.
And some people don't mind stink.
I'm not a particular fan.
Okay.
My son said to me one time, he said,
Dad, you have a Wolverine sense of smell.
I'm like, I don't even know what that means.
I've never seen Wolverine.
Okay, so.
But the nature of the fruit system is it's provisional.
It provides life energy.
But it's pleasurable. It's pleasant to the taste.
The root system provides that. It never stops.
So, then what happens, the shoot system,
by the way, is phototropic.
That means it grows towards light
and away from gravity.
It grows towards the light.
The shoot system is the trunk, the branches, the yellow branches,
the branches, the limbs,
and the leaves.
All of those are part of the shoot system.
That's all the shoot system.
The shoot system is the trunk and the branches.
It's phototropic.
And so what happens
is the shoot system shoots up.
These are the things that you have to do.
It grows towards light and away from gravity.
Here's our big problem as entrepreneurs, collectively.
We all desire to have the part of our money tree
that grows towards light and away from gravity.
That's the part we all desire.
But here's the problem.
This can't exist without this.
It's the stuff you do in the dark, damp,
difficult, dirty earth, dense earth,
that makes you worth looking at when the sun comes up.
It's the stuff you do when nobody's watching.
It's the obsession you have
when people can't see you obsessing and reading the books
and asking your marketplace questions
and watching the videos and then applying the lessons
and then taking notes on the lessons you've learned.
The stuff that nobody can see you doing,
that's the stuff that makes people desire
to see you do anything.
Okay, I hope you're picking up what I'm putting down.
So here's the thing about the shoot system.
The shoot system is stable.
It's stable. Why is it stable?
It's stable because it stems from and stands on the principles of
seed and soil. So what does that mean?
Well, it means this. It means that the tree, the shoot
system, will always match the root system.
You're not going to plant an orange tree and have an oak
stalk growing up out of the ground.
So the more connected to principles you are, the stronger
your root system. The stronger your root system,
the stronger your shoot system.
So it's stable
because it stems from and stands on principles of seed and soil.
So the more you base your life on principles, the stronger you are.
The more stable you are.
And by the way, most people don't feel stable.
Most people feel unstable.
Most people don't feel strong.
Most people feel weak.
And so when they get in the presence of somebody who feels strong,
not just for the purpose of feeling strong,
but they feel strong because their life is based on principles,
people are going to gather to that person.
So if you can become a person
who builds your life on principles,
then while everybody else is walking around
with a projected question mark
coming out of their forehead,
you're walking around
with a projected exclamation point
coming out of yours.
While everybody else is uncertain,
you feel so certain
that your certainty overflows onto other people.
And so it's stable.
But not only is it stable, it's strong.
Its strength comes from all of the root branches
coming into one place
and collaborating together.
See, it's not just that I believe in a principle.
It's not just that you believe in a principle.
We have to believe in a bunch of principles.
Each one of these root branches
is a totally different principle that we buy into,
that we believe in, and that we build our lives upon.
And when we build our lives upon this root system,
then we don't only have stability, but we also have strength,
which means we can support someone other than just us.
And we have the collaboration of all
these principles shoring us up
and giving us strength.
And then lastly, this part is subtle.
It's supple.
What does supple mean?
It means from the root system, the rain that goes down into the ground,
these roots suck in that water
and then send the hydration up through this shoot system
so that this shoot system, and by the way,
I'm going to apply this to business here in a minute.
So we're getting close to the part where you're going
to see exactly how to do this.
Okay?
So shoot system.
Now when the winds of life blow and the storm comes,
the tree doesn't break.
It's not brittle.
It's supple.
And then lastly.
We have the fruit system.
The fruit is what the root
and the shoot produce.
And we got the fruit system.
And we have all this fruit.
And the fruit tastes good.
And guess what's really interesting about the fruit?
Fruit is the extension and the projection of the reality of the root.
Because the fruit will always match the root.
This is why you can't start a business
that you desire to start and have it work.
You have to start a business that the marketplace desires.
And so what happens is this fruit.
It's provisional.
It is your provision.
It's your life force.
This fruit is your provision.
Just like the root, the fruit is the provision.
It's what the tree provides.
Now, here's the interesting thing about a tree.
This is why this is so metaphorically beautiful.
It's giving me chills thinking about it.
Because I've never seen an apple tree eat an apple.
I've never seen an orange tree eat an orange.
What does that tell me about the nature of this mechanistic system?
That the purpose of the production of the tree.
Apple trees
don't eat
apples.
Walnut trees don't eat walnuts.
So it's producing fruit for someone else,
for something else,
which tells us all of the things that we desire.
As a metaphor, all of the things that we desire are on the other side
of us producing provision for someone other than us.
This tree is telling the same story all
the way from the root to the shoot
and to the fruit.
It's provisional.
It's pleasant.
I love fruit.
Like, I think about this almost every time I'm playing golf
because I take fruit with me to the golf course
because at golf courses, they sell junk food.
And they sell candy and cookies and...
I
I'm like, I'd rather have God's candy.
don't
I'd rather have a cold banana or a cold orange.
Pear.
Pear?
Some grapes?
Child, please.
know.
This is God's candy and it supports life.
Somebody sign me up for that right there.
Now, here's the most amazing thing about this fruit.
I don't know if you remember this or not,
but God tells us in the book of Genesis what a fruit is.
Y'all remember what a fruit is?
A fruit is a living organism whose seed is in itself,
which means the fruit is perpetual.
What does perpetual mean?
It means that even when the fruit is consumed,
this is why you want to have a money tree.
Even when the fruit is consumed,
it exposes the seeds that give it the ability to reproduce.
Let's say you eat an apple.
It's got five seeds in it.
You don't eat the seeds.
Y'all don't eat the apple seeds, do you?
Okay, I'm just making sure.
So you don't eat the apple seeds.
What could you do with the seeds?
You could plant them in the ground.
Here's the interesting thing about planting an apple seed.
When you plant an apple seed, it doesn't grow an apple.
Let that marinate.
When you plant an apple seed, it does not grow an apple.
What does it grow?
A whole new tree.
This is why.
This is why.
This whole concept of a money tree is so beautiful
because just like a piece of fruit,
when you build a money tree mechanism
and you build your business around this money tree mechanism principle,
what happens is consumption never creates lack.
Consumption creates the opportunity.
Everybody say opportunity.
Consumption creates the opportunity for production.
Until the fruit is at least cut open,
The seeds are not exposed.
Until the seeds are exposed, they can't be planted.
So God created trees for us as a picture
of the self-sustaining nature of life,
the reproductive, multiplicative nature of life.
And it's truly a picture of the reproductive
and multiplicative nature of business.
So how do I plant a money tree?
I have to figure out, I have to go out into the marketplace,
and I have to put a taproot down.
I have to discover what y'all care about.
I can do that by asking questions and waiting for an answer.
I don't know what questions to ask.
Okay, then ask one of your friends today.
What's the single biggest challenge you have?
Let's say you're great at parenting.
You've got wonderful children.
What's the single biggest challenge you have in parenting?
Not what are the challenges.
What's the single biggest challenge?
If you can learn to ask people,
what's the single biggest challenge you have in XYZ?
If you ask 100 people, you ain't going to get 100 of the same answer.
You might get 10 of the same answer, all of that.
If you get 10, the one that you get the most often,
that's telling you something about the marketplace.
The one you get second most often is telling you something else.
So what you're doing is you're surveying the marketplace
to discover what they desire so that when you create something,
you don't create something that's a waste of time.
That's your taproot system.
And then once you figure that out, you say, okay,
what kind of solution can I create?
It's interesting.
I just saw...
This video, and I don't remember the name of it,
but I saw this video where these four college students
created an AI application
and then sold it to Anthropic,
I think for $16 billion.
Yeah, sold it for $16 billion.
Why?
Because they obsessed.
They looked at it.
They said, okay, these AI models are having some challenges.
What kind of challenges do they have?
What can we create that could be an application
that they could use to solve this problem
that they're going to have three months from now,
five months from now, a year from now, two years from now?
They created it.
They presented it.
$4 billion apiece.
What did they do?
They started with what problems.
By the way, I'm going to tell you something now.
I did a whole video on this.
You can go watch it later.
But I did a whole video on this.
It's called sell expensive stuff to rich people.
You want to get rich?
Sell expensive stuff to rich people.
It's so simple.
But if you're not rich, your first thing that you're going to think is,
yeah, but I don't have anything a rich person will want.
Maybe that's true.
But wouldn't it be worth developing something
that a rich person will want?
I'll tell you, if you're good at parenting,
a lot of rich people have a hard time with their kids.
If you can teach them how to get reconnected to their children,
maybe you have something that they pay a lot of money for.
Hashtag just saying.
Okay, so we look at, we go out into the marketplace,
we find out what the problems are,
and then we hyper-obsess over figuring out a way to solve it.
One of the reasons I can do what I do
is because I've read hundreds and hundreds
and hundreds of business books.
I've read hundreds and hundreds of hundreds of financial books.
I've read hundreds and hundreds
and hundreds of personal development books.
And I've been reading the Bible since I was 16, and I am now 34.
Okay, I'm 65, but who's counting?
It's just a number, right?
I don't even have any desire to be 34.
What am I talking about?
I love being 65.
I love being 65.
I love everything about 65.
I like the way 65 even sounds.
Somebody should write a song about 65.
In fact, I might write one this afternoon.
Okay, so, but my point is, my point is that
You can solve problems that a lot of people have.
Sell expensive stuff to rich people.
Here's why.
Here's why you want to sell it.
I mean, this is a way to do it.
Here's why selling expensive stuff to rich people is really good.
Good.
Because rich people have problems too.
I'm going to tell you something about rich people.
We are willing to spend a lot of money to solve our problems.
A lot.
And when somebody clearly articulates
their ability to solve a problem for us,
I happily pay them.
Zero resistance.
Why? Because we can.
Here's why it's fun to sell expensive stuff to rich people.
Because it's easy for them to pay.
And it's easy for them to know whether or not they believe
the thing you've created is going to be a solution for them.
Hashtag. Just saying.
So you create something that they care about.
And then you go up here and you start.
This is your personal development area.
This is your audience attraction area.
You have to be willing to do audience attraction
even when it feels like you're not getting traction.
I've said that before.
I'm going to write that down and take it to you.
Okay, so I said audience attraction,
you need to focus on your audience attraction
even when you feel like you're not getting traction.
But can I tell you how to get traction?
Can I tell you how to get traction on social media?
Whether it be on social media,
whether it be on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram,
can I tell you how?
You create, a new friend of mine,
Brian Mark calls, you create connection content.
You create content that the marketplace can connect with.
And then you create what he calls conversion content.
That's content that shows them that you've found an elegant solution.
And then he calls it something else, but I'm going
to call it what I call it.
I like my word.
For this part.
For this part.
You create consensus content,
which is you show where other people agree that your solution is good.
That could be people who are past clients.
That could be other people who've used a similar system in the past.
So this is one of the really cool things about getting
on other people's podcasts.
They expose you to their audience.
So I was on Lewis Howes' podcast back in March, right, of this year.
And I got an email from them.
And now, November 11th,
I'm flying back to L.A. to be on his podcast again.
Why?
Because we had a really good conversation.
Like, we just clicked, right?
And so I didn't have an agenda other than...
Being as transparent as I could be
and giving real answers to people who have real questions.
And like if.
I know it feels like that's,
Myron, that's such a long-tail strategy.
It is.
Let's say it takes you six months to gain traction
by showing up to serve.
Can I give you all the good news?
The six months is going to go by whether you do it or not,
so you might as well do it.
Because how many of you wish, if this is you,
I want you to raise your hand and say me.
Really loud so people on YouTube can hear you.
How many of you wish you had started doing that six months ago?
Raise your hand and say me.
Me.
Exactly.
That's the point.
The best time to plant a tree,
especially a money tree, is 20 years ago.
Second best time, today.
If you ain't got no money tree, plant one today.
So this is the audience attraction part.
And once you attract an audience,
then you can lead generate.
And so now you have lead generation,
and then you start growing up here,
and then you start having lead conversion.
And lead conversion means some of this audience that you've attracted,
that you've generated leads from, they start buying stuff from you.
Here's the problem.
Everybody desires to have a fruit system,
but most people are not disciplined enough
to have a root system.
They don't have enough consistency to build a shoot system,
but they desire to have a fruit system.
So here's my advice to you.
Plant a money tree.
See, I've got all kinds of money trees.
This book.
From the trash man to the cash man is a money tree
that makes me about, almost just under six figures a year.
I planted this tree 20 years ago.
It's still producing fruit.
This tree, this book is a money tree.
Not only are the pages, do the pages come from a papyrus tree,
but this book is a Myron money tree.
This Boss Moves book is a Myron money tree.
I planted this tree five years ago.
It's still producing fruit today.
When I'm dead, these will be producing fruit.
This book, the iBusiness playbook,
me and Miguel, this is me and Miguel's tree.
We planted this tree about a month ago.
I mean, it's made us a month and a half maybe.
It's making us about $7,000, $8,000 a month.
It's a money tree.
Why?
Because when you go out into the marketplace
and you tap your taproot down
and you get the information, then if you're fortunate enough
that some of the things that the marketplace tells you they desire,
Are already in your wheelhouse, you are really close to profitability.
But if they're not, if you operate from abundance instead of scarcity,
it doesn't matter if they're already in your wheelhouse.
What does operate from abundance mean?
It means stop acting like who you are is not enough,
what you do is not enough, and what you have is not enough.
What does that mean?
Learn the answers to the questions that stop most people,
and you will get off of the struggle bus.
Here are the questions that stop most people.
How much does it cost?
How long does it take?
How hard is it gonna be?
So when you learn the actual answers to them,
the real answers, not the fabricated answers
that you conjure up in your cerebral cortex,
maybe that's not even the part where you conjure them up,
but y'all know what I mean, in your brain.
When you find the answers to those three questions,
the real answers, and I know these are the real answers
for everybody here in this room
and everybody who's watching me right now on YouTube.
I know these are the real answers,
but you're gonna have to learn the answers,
then you're gonna have to learn to believe the answers,
and then you're gonna have to learn to apply the answers.
How much does it cost?
Less than you have the ability to create.
It doesn't matter what it is and it doesn't matter how much it costs.
It costs less than you have the ability to create
or less than you have the ability
to figure out how to have the ability to create.
How long will it take?
Less time than you have.
Congratulations.
You've got time to figure it out.
Isn't that exciting?
How hard is it going to be, Myron?
Oh, it's going to be hard.
How hard is it going to be?
I'll tell you how hard it's going to be.
Not as hard as you are strong.
Here's why.
Here's why it can't cost more
than you have the ability to create,
can't take longer than you have time,
and it can't be harder than you are strong
because you are the only thing
that God ever created in his image.
None of the stuff that you face is created in his image,
which means you are more abundant than it.
But if you're struggling to realize that,
it's because you have an identity crisis
and you've gotten your identity
from somewhere other than the ultimate identity,
which is the I am that I am.
The commandment that says,
thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
What if it means, because the word vain means empty or void or wasted.
Thou shalt not waste the name of the Lord thy God.
What is the name of the Lord thy God?
I am.
So what if every time you say, I am broke,
you're attaching your limitation to God's identity in you?
What if you say, I am sick, I am weak, I am poor, I am so stupid.
If you're going to use, I am.
You might as well attach it to something positive that empowers you
instead of something negative that disempowers you.
Now, here's what I want you to do.
Go grow yourself a money tree or two.
In fact, go plant an entire money orchard, one tree at a time.
And when you do, I'll be glad.
Thanks for watching.
Stay blessed by the best.
