"The King Maker"

An adventure film set in 16th-century Southeast Asia. Fernando De Gama, the Portuguese "Soldier of Fortune", survives a shipwreck in the Indian Ocean and is captured by Arab slave traders. He is sold to Ayutthaya, Siam, but is freed by Maria, a young Portuguese woman, and they soon fall in love. As an experienced soldier, Fernando is recruited by the Siamese king to take part in a war against a northern rival. Due to his bravery, he is given a position in the royal guard along with his new Thai friend Tong.

The king's wife, Queen Sudachan, plans to kill her husband and put her lover on the throne. She enlists Philip, the man who killed Fernando's father, to help with the assassination. Unable to capture Philip, Fernando and Tong discover the Queen's involvement, but are too late to save the King, who is dying from her poison. The Queen frames them for the murder, and Fernando and Tong are forced to fight to the death for the entertainment of the new King and Queen.
