AI GeneratedThis segment features a discussion about the Paramount+ reality series \"Team Moms Baseball,\" which follows the high-pressure environment of the Legendary Prep Academy in Scottsdale. The conversation explores the intersection of youth sports, parental intensity, and the authenticity of reality television.
Baseball and Scottsdale go hand-in-hand.
Legendary Prep Academy is a high-performance baseball academy.
He's going to the MLB for sure.
I have high confidence.
I'm not going to kill his dream.
We are here for the love of the game.
At LPA, games are intense.
The parents can also be very intense.
I love everybody.
Tell your f***ing friends.
You don't even know what's about to come.
This boy was telling everyone that I was going to play.
Derek and I are like, add to watch list.
Oh, I already watched it.
This is right up our alley.
I watched all of them.
You didn't tell me?
You've got to watch it.
Come on.
Oh, my gosh.
Youth sports can be high pressure,
and sometimes the drama between the stands is even more intense
than the action on the field.
Team Moms Baseball is streaming now on Paramount+.
And, Gino, you talked with a few of them.
This looks like a hybrid between, like,
Real Housewives meets kids sports.
Yep, and we know what mothers are like,
and Derek and I had this talk about it recently.
My cousin, Rose Bosch, if you're watching, embarrassing in the stands.
She would scream.
Her son playing on the field would hear it.
But we talked about, I talked with Trish Mears,
Aaron Walsick, and Mel Drummer.
And what is reality TV?
How realistic is it?
How real is reality TV?
Honestly, it's real.
It all happens.
You know, we were never given something to say or do.
You know, we're hanging out with people
that we might not be hanging out with every day.
That's the only part that, you know,
is a little bit different outside of like our normal baseball lives.
But no, I mean, it's real.
Everything, everything you saw happens.
And Trish, you know what?
It's just people who want their children to do well.
I love the motive of every parent in this show.
Yeah.
You know, that's one thing about us parents.
Even if there's drama out there, we all support the boys.
We're all supportive of them and living their dreams.
and you know if our son wants to do it we're going
to fully support it it's just anything in life if
he wants to play piano or play guitar we're going
to fully support that it's just that his dream is
baseball and you know what an opportunity to be able
to go to this school yeah and mel what an
opportunity is to see your life this slice
of your life like you will always have this you will
always remember the things that went on absolutely
this was a very unique experience and going into
it we we took it exactly for that let's let's
do this as a family this is fun not everybody gets
this opportunity and to have these ladies there doing it alongside us
was really fun and we really
appreciate the opportunity
and had a lot of fun doing it i kind of really enjoyed the show for
several reasons first i thought the school is a cool model it's different
because you know to be able
to learn from the best of the best
former MLB players.
these kids go to school for like two hours a day
online, and the rest is literally all
baseball. It's practicing.
It's just kind of honing in.
It's
middle school, high school. They're like
13, 14 kids.
It's just so intense. I think that's the
other part about it. Some of these parents
are treating their kids like a business.
It's a little unfortunate.
There's so many different dynamics that go along
with it.
all right i'm gonna know it's pretty interesting too
so the moms have their dramas so do the kids
after seeing it back what do the boys think about it like
when they watched it it's a great question
Erica because what do boys that age
do do they even watch the show it's true erin what would
what was the reaction of the boys how did they feel about
this honestly they were all pretty
excited i know my son he actually still hasn't
really watched everything he was like i kind of
lived it i'm good he's just kind
of chill like yeah he's like he's they've been having fun with
it i i honestly thought it way better they they had
a lot more fun than i thought they would and
they don't seem to like their lives haven't changed
that much honestly so they're going
they have a goal in mind they they just want
to play baseball that's right yeah uh mel i didn't
hear did you ask me this sorry i can't
for some reason it's lower volume what
we that's okay no i was just saying it's good
that they're not caring about the show that
they're focused on playing baseball yeah and it's
and it's cute we were at a restaurant the other
day and a couple 14 year old girls were walking around trying
to snap pictures you know so they're
they're kind of loving that part of it
but yeah it's really cool and and the footage that paramount
captured i mean it's real deal cameras and i'm
so excited i hope they share more of that footage
with us because they got some really unique footage
of the boys pitching and sliding and
and we're going to have that for a lifetime.
It's pretty unique. Yeah, Mel, along those lines,
the fact that the boys will be able to chart
their progress to show how they were at this age and
then how they ended up, you know, with their baseball careers.
Yeah, actually, that is a
really good point that you made.
The school is very good about tracking their performance and
their progress and to see it live, you know,
on the television to see where they were and how far
they came even during the the time that we filmed
is a really cool experience because we don't get
to see the boys at school while they're doing all of their activities
and their trainings we we only
see them when they play on the weekends
and tournaments so to see it like that and to
actually live it with them while they were filming
was a really cool experience all right i'm gonna
end i need your support you all have to support
the Brewers we we've never had a hundred percent never
This is like an American dream.
I love each one of their stories.
I mean, we're in full support.
Sorry, Diamondbacks, but we've got to go for the Brewers.
We'll take it, right?
We'll take it.
I love the support.
That's interesting.
Because I feel like, too, it's got to be relatable for moms
who have kids in sports really anywhere
because there's a common theme of, like, it's a little intense.
It's more than it should be.
I'm looking forward to see if they get another season.
And I hope they do because you want to kind of follow the kids, too.
With the rave reviews coming in from
there, there will be a second season.
All right, I want to talk about
Erica. Over the weekend, I was at a wedding
with Erica and her husband, Andre.
I'm telling you, this is one of the great
couples I've ever met.
Their kids are great.
They are great. You treat each other so well
and so beautifully, and it just made my
whole night watching you. We really had a good
time, and it was nice to just kind of be in the moment
and enjoy each other.
Andre's my new best friend.
He had such a good time with you. He was like,
oh, I can hang with Gina.
I'm sure you can. Exactly.
awesome. Thank you, Gino. That's why
it's real Milwaukee. We've got to tell the real
stories. You've never said that
about like me and my
significant other. That's true. There's been no
praise.
No, but I'm working so hard
to try to get you backstage for the Jonas
Brothers. So maybe that moment when you
and Joe lock eyes. When Joe finally sees
me. He's going to say, there she is.
The story's about to begin, you guys.
Is that the single one? There's a single? Yeah.
Got it. And he's my favorite.
Was he? Okay. I mean,
Well, he has a girlfriend, but he's not married.
So, single.
You're single until you're married, right?
And I reject your idea.
I will not dress as Cupid and walk in with a little bow tie.
Oh, dang.
I'm not going to do that.
I was really hoping you were going to do that.
Yeah, no, that would have turned him off.
We'll talk.
We'll talk.
We'll still ahead.
Keeping it simple doesn't mean it needs to be boring.
We got Palermo's here with a brewer's spin on dinner.
I think we're going to like this one.
It's pizza.
We'll be right back.
