The *CPX Hyper+* is one of the most powerful full-foam pickleball paddles I've tested—but can a paddle with this much pop still deliver control at the kitchen?

In this *CPX Hyper+ Gen 5 paddle review*, I put its explosive drives, quick counters, resets, dinks, forgiveness, and overall feel to the test.

My first reaction? *WOW. This thing is a ROCKET!* 🚀

Balls jump off the face, and drives, counters, and put-aways come off incredibly fast. But the surprising part is that the CPX Hyper+ still gives me enough feedback for the soft game.

There is a learning curve: you do need to take some pace off your shots compared with a traditional control paddle.

### WHAT MAKES THE CPX HYPER+ DIFFERENT?

This is a 16mm, full-foam thermoformed Gen 5 pickleball paddle built around CPX's patent-pending HyperFoam X Core.

Unlike a traditional honeycomb paddle, the core fills the paddle body with multiple foam materials. CPX claims this design reduces dead spots and expands the effective sweet spot.

Its Red-Line Edge Technology is designed to strategically distribute perimeter weight for improved stability on off-center hits.

But specifications only tell half the story. What matters is how the paddle actually performs!

### MY EXPERIENCE ON THE COURT

🔥 *POWER AND POP:* The standout characteristic. Drives explode off the face, counters are exceptionally quick, and finishing points becomes easier when you have the opportunity.

🎯 *CONTROL AND TOUCH:* Despite the enormous power, I was surprised by how comfortably I could dink, reset, and manage the soft game. The Hyper+ gives enough feedback to stay connected to the ball.

💪 *SWEET SPOT AND STABILITY:* I found the hitting area forgiving. Adding a little weighted tape to the sides gave me even more stability and confidence on off-center contacts.

⚠️ *THE LEARNING CURVE:* If you are transitioning from a low-powered control paddle, you will need to adjust. This paddle supplies considerable free pace, so controlling your swing becomes important.

### WHO SHOULD BUY THE CPX HYPER+?

If you want a forgiving paddle with big power, explosive counters, and enough touch for the kitchen game, the Hyper+ deserves your attention.

If you're looking for maximum control and a deliberately low-powered response, however, this probably isn't your ideal paddle.

For my game, the Hyper+ delivered tremendous power while preserving enough touch and feel to keep me confident.
