After Charlotte and I heard so much about the famous Muline wall,
we were finally able to touch
our sweaty little fingers on that perfect sandstone.
So we took a nice little day trip down there.
Where are we? We are below the Eye of the Tiger,
one of these routes that when you see a picture of,
you're like wow that looks beautiful. I hope I'll
get the chance to climb it one day and here we are it's the D-Day.
Charlotte was
so excited to get on Eye of the Tiger
so she went for the on-site slash flash or
whatever you want to call it these days
with the internet media. Flashed it which
was awesome and it gave me good positive vibes about
the route and kind of
friendly pressure
to also flash it.
Our friend, our local
friend Steven told us
that Flying Duck is an amazing route.
He sent it for his birthday apparently for
the first of his grade so we hopped on flying duck
and we sessioned on that for
a little bit in the heat
and we both ended up sending flying duck at the last
bit of
daylight
conclusion
of today
today
every day
is a new
lesson
today's
lesson was when climbing in the Grampians
if it's 35 degrees out don't
climb midday wait for the evening
and the cooler temps because it's much more
enjoyable.
And it's a good sign that there's
a climber photo on the wall.
Maybe our doctor is a climber and will understand the pain.
Not in my body but in my mind that I can't
climb. Could be ribs, oblique, kidney stones, who knows.
Found out that it was a torn oblique
and basically the the medicine for that is rest.
So for the next couple weeks I'm
pretty much resting, not climbing much.
We met up with our friends Stephen and Kate
and they're two little kids
for a nice little weekend of camping and climbing
and drinking wine in the rain. Really good memories there.
So in Bundeljord that was nice because I climbed with
Kate and we did a very easy chimney which was a nice
route and a trad route so it was nice
for me to place some gear again and then
we climbed a couple routes with Kate
and Steve and with Steve we picked a route
called Manic Depressive that's a 70
plus was a very steep arete but
kind of finishes on the slab of it
and in the slab it's incredible pocket good holes good edge
and you just go over it with big runouts
exposed route but i think being here in the
Grampians it's kind of useless to say that
a route is exposed
because they're all
exposed how was it
super Thanksgiving
in Australia update
potatoes are in, squash is about to enter,
stuffing is done, turkey legs,
because we can't do an entire turkey.
Should be good soon.
It's 100 degrees out here.
It is completed.
It's so hot that Sharla is taking a shower break
in the middle of our meal,
which I understand because when I was grilling
the turkey legs, I took a shower midway through the cooking.
