Okay, so I was going to get a piece of bark to start my fire on,
and Scope got a hold
of this guy.
He's pretty big, and he didn't kill him,
but he maimed him for sure.
He was out of it, so I finished the deed.
The More a clipper, for size
comparison, he's big.
Skin him and eat him.
I've never done this at all before,
so this will be a learning experience.
She ain't pretty.
There she is, skinned and gutted, ready to go.
Oh, there
she is on
the spit
getting
a little
smoked
right now
and cook
it over the
open flame.
It took me over an hour to clean that thing,
and I'm definitely sure it shouldn't have taken that long.
But that was my first time, and I think I bit off more
than I can chew without being shown how to do it.
It was messy to say the least, and I know there's still hair on it,
but I can't do much about that.
I rinsed it off like five times. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Got it on there smoking still
Want to make sure that it's completely cooked obviously
And I'm putting it on with the smoke here
and not fanning the flame to maybe give it some taste
I'm cooking it over top of oak so we shall see
Scouts patiently waiting for some, put it on the grate
because this was taking too long and I gotta go
But I already gave one leg to Scout and he seemed to really like it
So, I'm gonna dig in,
a bunch of meat on it,
but I guess in a survival
situation this would
be great.
And that's the only reason I did this is because
the dog had already got it, it was gonna
die anyways, and I'd never cleaned a squirrel before,
so I figured it was a good opportunity.
I can't remember what it tastes like,
but I don't remember it
tasting too good, so I'm
definitely gonna eat it.
I've been out here for seven hours,
I was actually gonna just start making my lunch
lunch when I happened upon this guy.
It took me quite a bit of time to clean him, and it
took me even longer
to get this leg off.
Come on. He was old.
He was an old male.
I remember
hearing somewhere that the younger ones obviously would be more tender.
So I imagine he'd be
pretty,
actually
not bad.
Getting
his tough.
It's pretty
good though.
Not bad.
I hope I
was starving. It'd be a lot better, but.
