Hurricane Katrina | A Disaster That Never Should Have Happened

21 years ago, Hurricane Katrina made landfall along the Gulf Coast.
Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama were devastated by the most catastrophic natural disaster in modern American history. But nowhere would the consequences be more profound than in New Orleans.
What happened over the following days was far more than a hurricane. As the city's flood protection system failed, tens of thousands of people found themselves trapped in a rapidly unfolding humanitarian catastrophe.
In this documentary, we will cover everything from the hurricane's formation, to its landfall, to the historic flooding, as well as the chaos and desperate rescue operations that followed.

Also, there is a quadrillion incredible aspects to the Katrina disaster that I could not make time to include in this video. Namely, the Mississippi Coast took on the strongest parts of the hurricane, and was absolutely crushed by this historic storm. I will eventually do a video covering their experience. There was also a shocking amount of controversy surrounding the aftermath of Katrina. In the future, I will do an in-depth video on the corruption and cruel abuse that took place during the recovery process.

*Thanks to each and every person that took their time to watch, like, subscribe & comment on this video! This project was very difficult, educational, and rewarding for me. Leave a comment if you'd like more hurricane content in the future!*
