Indus Merchants Reached Mesopotamia 4,000 Years Ago — The Evidence

More than 4,000 years ago, merchants connected to the Indus Civilization were part of a vast trade network reaching all the way to Mesopotamia.

In this documentary, we investigate the evidence behind that extraordinary connection: mysterious references to Meluhha in Mesopotamian texts, Indus-style seals found far to the west, carnelian beads traced across ancient trade routes, Gulf trading centers such as Dilmun and Magan, and the remarkable story of Shu-ilishu — an interpreter linked to the language of Meluhha.
