Athens Metro Chaos: Riot Cop Waves After Throwing Flashbang Into Station, At least 25 Detains

Around 10,000 demonstrators marched through Athens demanding better public education, higher wages and relief from rising living costs. Clashes erupted near Omonia Square after the main rally ended, with footage appearing to show a riot police officer throwing a flashbang grenade into a metro area and waving. Police reportedly detained 25 people for checks, while four others were taken in for questioning. Similar protests took place in Thessaloniki, Patras and other Greek cities as students, teachers and public-sector workers called for better school facilities and affordable student housing.
