AI GeneratedThis video provides a comprehensive walkthrough of the AVS Hub external portal, specifically guiding prospective air carriers and operators through the process of applying for a Part 135 certificate. It covers everything from account creation and organization linking to the detailed completion of the seven-section application and the subsequent tracking of the application's status.
Welcome. In this walkthrough, we will go through AVS Hub's
certifications, waivers, and evaluation applications.
This video will focus on the prospective air carrier
and operator experience of applying
for a Part 135 certificate on the external portal.
To access the external portal homepage,
navigate to aviationsafetyhub.faa.gov.
Here you can research FAA issuances,
create an account, and begin an application.
For this demo, we will walk through the Part 135 application process.
There are three easy ways to start your application from the home page.
First, use the Apply for Certificate drop-down menu.
Second, click on the Part 135 informational
card under All Available Services.
You can use filters here to view issuances by industry role.
The third way is to navigate to the Authorizations page
and select the Part 135 card in the Operator section.
Before you can submit an application,
you must create an account.
The AVS Hub integrates directly with Login.gov
for secure registration and single sign-on.
Let's log in now.
Now that we are logged in, we can start.
To apply for a Part 135 certificate,
your account must be linked to an organization.
The organization represents the business
or legal entity obtaining the FAA issuance.
You can manage your user
and organization profiles anytime
at the top right corner of the screen.
When you click to start, an overview modal will appear,
review these steps carefully
so you know what to expect to submit.
The application form is broken down into three main areas.
First is the top bar, with sections to track your progress,
Second is the main center area,
where you can answer questions and upload documents.
And third are action buttons, where you have options to exit,
save and continue later, or submit your application
Please note that the submission button only unlocks
when you have completed all required steps.
There are seven core sections
of the application to complete.
Company information, your high-level business details
and operational scope.
Personnel, the management personnel associated with your operations.
Aircraft, the fleet details of your intended aircraft.
Operating profile, more details on the scope of your operations.
Schedule events, your proposed timeline.
Documentation, where you can upload required
documents based on the scope of operation,
as defined in the Notice 8900.766.
And finally, the responsible party,
which is the point of contact details that will
be used to access the SAS external portal.
For the purposes of this demonstration,
we have pre-populated the data in these sections
so you can see what a completed form looks like.
Let's look at how to fill these sections out.
First up is company information.
All required fields in this section are marked with an asterisk
and must be completed before
you submit the section.
If any pre-populated fields
from your organization profile need editing, such as your company
information, mailing address,
or email address, please update them directly
within your organization profile.
Next, select the checkbox if the address of your
principal base is the exact same
as your mailing address. If it's different, go
ahead
and enter the principal
base address here. Enter.
You will enter other key
details such as proposed date,
your requested three-letter company identifier,
and your geographic areas of operation.
Below that, you will indicate the type, kind, and
scope of your proposed operations.
To guide you, dynamic helper text is provided for these fields.
The text automatically adjusts based on your selections
and the three drop downs.
When you are done, click
next personnel to continue
or save for later to save
your progress and close the form.
The second section is personnel.
The specific personnel required
for your operations are automatically determined
based on the type, kind,
and scope you selected in the previous section.
Once the individuals have been added,
click next aircraft to advance.
The third section is aircraft.
It is required to indicate whether
or not you have an aircraft at
the time of the operation. Section three is aircraft.
It is required to enter an aircraft
even if you do not own one at the moment.
If you do not own an aircraft, please enter the details
of the intended aircraft
that you will purchase. To do so,
click add to enter the specific aircraft
details, and click Submit.
You can repeat this for additional aircraft to edit.
When finished,
click Next.
Operating Profile is the operating profile.
All sections. Next is the operating
profile. All questions in this section are completely optional.
As you navigate this page,
notice that checkbox questions allow multiple selections.
There are free text questions that
accept numerical values and drop-down questions
that only allow a single selection. Please answer
only the questions that apply and make
the best choices relevant to your specific operation.
Click Next Schedule Events
to continue.
Five is the Schedule Events.
Here we can upload a schedule of events
that outline the overall project plan for the
Department 35 process.
This plan will be directly referenced during
a pre-application meeting later in the certification.
Next.
Click Next Documentation
to move forward.
The next section is Documentation.
Required documents based on your type, kind,
and scope will be directly listed at the top
of the screen with optional documents listed below them.
If a file is of the correct type or size, the portal will display.
To upload a document,
click Upload Document and select the file from your device.
From there,
click Submit.
Once uploaded,
you can always click Edit or Remove if you need to make changes.
Once all required documents are successfully uploaded,
you move on to the next section.
The final section
is the Responsible Party.
A Responsible Party is required to log
into the SAS External Portal to track the remainder
of your application once it has
been officially placed onto the national.
Once the application form is complete,
the submit button will unlock, allowing you to
officially send it in your application.
Now, let's talk about tracking your application.
At any point during the certification process,
even while your application is still in a draft
status, you can easily monitor if you need areas.
First, after logging into the external portal,
navigate to your dashboard.
Each certification associated with your account organization
will be listed. On the top right hand corner
of each card you will see the current status displayed
for example draft, submitted,
or a later date depending on where the application stands in your
workflow. To view more detailed information click view application
for the relevant service. This
will open the application overview screen.
At the top of the screen you'll see
a phase tracker which
visually indicates the current phase of the process.
The tracker provides a clear step-by-step
view of your progress
and helps ensure transparency throughout the certification.
You can also view additional details and, if applicable,
any action items associated with this application.
