I just started a new dropshipping store with a $100 budget, and so far the tools have cost me about $2. This is day one: I picked a niche (car accessories), had Doba Pilot shortlist products under $25, checked each supplier's refund rate, U.S. warehouse and what the product actually sells for at Walmart, then listed the ones I liked to a new Shopify store. The rest of the budget goes to one sample product and a small ad test.
I just started a new dropshipping store.
I gave myself a $100 budget.
That's usually what I like to do
when I'm starting new income streams
or trying something new.
So far the tools came out to be about $2.
So I'll show you where the money's all going
and the tool that I use to make this slow part easier.
I don't have any sales yet because I just built this,
but I'll show you how I built it
and then I'd like to turn this into a series
and come back and show you how I'm getting sales
and we'll just see how it's going.
So here's where the money's gone so far.
So I signed up for Doba Pilot, that is free.
You get 30 credits with no cards, so that's zero dollars.
Then for Doba itself to actually run your store,
it's a seven day trial for 99 cents.
So that's what unlocks the store and the listings,
and that's what you pay.
Shopify is three days free, then a dollar a month
for your first three months.
So we have another dollar.
So so far up to two dollars and signed up for three tools.
Then I'm going to put about $30 towards ordering one sample product
for myself before I start
trying to sell something.
I actually, I want to see at least one of them
and have it in my hands, make sure it's
not absolute garbage.
And then the other, you know,
$68 or whatever, I'm going to use for ads.
So that's my $100 budget to get this store running
and start getting my first sale.
So first off, you want to pick a niche.
So what's a niche that you're interested
in that you'd actually want to sell something
in?
I picked car stuff for this one, but everybody has a car.
And most people have a list of little things
that they would like improved about their car
And then I want to keep the price low
for this drop shipping and I for this one
I'd like to go something under $25
that I could sell a lot of so in traditionally
This is kind of the slow part trying to find what products are gonna
You know be decent to sell and then trying to find a supplier
You end up with a bunch of tabs a spreadsheet
that you don't test by the end of it
So this is the part that I handed over to DobaPilot.
It's their AI that searches their database.
And I just told it, find me six
car accessories under $25 that I could sell profitably.
One message is one credit.
So actually, I do have a paid DobaPilot account,
but you get 30 credits when you sign up for
free.
So you can run 30 of these searches.
So here's what I found.
The first option is a start scan car LED hood light.
then found a wireless car tire inflator pump
so if you get flat tires this is something even i have
on my tesla some of the car accessories don't work for my tesla
because they're for you know gas
engines but this where i get flat tires
so this is great for that front seat covers is an option
here a rear view video dash cam
and then another air pump portable air compressor and then a car
cleaning gun which I'd be excited to try that out
but each row is one product it gives AI insights
so it says here's what AI thinks about this all
of these are high profit because I asked for that
in the prompt some are higher than others
though you know these 19 23 but then you have like these
seat covers where you get 60% profit
then over here it shows which of my filters it matched so
based on just my prompt it turned that into filters
so looking for car accessories price
less than $25 and profit margin over 15%.
And then it gives information about the supplier as
well. Um, it shows how long they've been open,
which I don't want something that's been open
for like a month or two months.
You know, 1.5 years is pretty good. Uh, but 6.5 years, that's
even better. Uh, then I want to see a high fulfillment rate.
They're not missing orders.
And actually all of these have pretty high.
And then I want to see a low refund rate, which 12.5%,
that's pretty high. So this is,
I might stay away from this product just because of this high
refund rate. Um, honestly,
it's kind of looking like this might be the, it's got the highest
profit, a hundred percent fulfillment rate,
0% refund rate, although they've not been open as
long. One thing I probably should have put
in my prompt is I want it to ship from the U S so I
want it to have a U S warehouse.
Um, the problem is if it's shipping from overseas, if it's shipping
from China then you know it might take it a week to get to the US
and people with Amazon Prime the
way that it is people just don't want to wait that long
so narrow these down to only the ones that
ship from a US warehouse so it took a couple off
and then it put a couple new ones in so the car
cleaning gun is still on there that actually
that one I was pretty interested in that sounds pretty
cool and you notice in demand signals it added
this new filter shipped from the U.S. so basically
it's taking your prompt and then it's just turning it
into filters automatically for you so this
takes a lot of the hard work for starting
a store out of the way i have my products i have the
supplier info already there i can make
a really informed decision this is before i've spent any
money again this is all on Doba Pilot you get 30 credits free
so when you look at the product this
one in particular, this dash cam.
This is the price that I would pay to get one. And then this
is what the MSRP is. So they think you buy it for 20.27.
You can sell it for 27.49. I do want to see
that there's enough in stock
in case people actually start buying a lot of these. I don't
want to see that there's three in stock
or something like that. Nothing worse than when
you get a sale, you go to fulfill the sale and it's out of stock.
That would just, that would
break my heart. There's free shipping,
estimated delivery time, two to five days. That's all good
what I'd be looking for.
And I have learned that it's also good to take this product and
just go look at what it's actually selling for.
So this product is actually selling on Walmart
for $30. It's selling on eBay for $20.
So chances are their MSRP is probably close. Of course,
you can get it on Temu for pretty cheap,
but people know that that's Temu. Also, this car
cleaning gun. They sell it to us for $23.92, and then MSRP is $32.89.
So, and this one actually
has a map, which is a minimum advertised price,
which means that I can't list it for lower than
$29.90. This is, again, I'd want to just kind of Google this and see,
is it actually selling for
that amount? And it is. So, $32 at Walmart.
So, honestly, I feel pretty good about this one,
the car cleaning gun and I want to try it out for myself.
And they have the supplier here. It's
Viver. Click into the supplier
to get more information like where they're located, where
you ship returns to. That's in the US, so that's good.
Their average delivery time is 3.41 days,
which that's not bad. They've been open for several years.
Good fulfillment and pretty low
refund rate. So first I created the store in Shopify.
I gave it a name. I am not creative
at all. Let me know in the comments,
a better name than Pelton garage. Um, but that's it. I'm
an engineer. I'm not creative at all.
So that's how I named things. So then when I had the products
that I wanted here, I just clicked list selected products now,
and I didn't have stores connected
to Doba yet. So it asked me what kind of store do you want?
So I said, Shopify, I logged into
the Shopify account, installed the Doba app,
got it all connected together. And then immediately
those products got listed on my Shopify store.
So when I go to Shopify, you can see that these
are in here and they're already connected to the supplier.
So then the last $68 of my $100
to get this store started is I want to do one small ad test.
And I'm just looking to see if
I can make an ad that people click on and that people buy.
That's what the money's for is a test.
And the result of your ads test tells you what to fix.
If nobody clicks, then it's the picture
or the product or your ad in some way if people click
and nobody buys then it's the price or it
might be the landing page for the product
but either way you learn something you know for that
$68 so and this is how the doba trial works
this is what gets your products into your store and
connects it and fulfills the orders
but 99 cents gets you seven days on their basic plan here and
when the trial is up it'll roll
into the paid plan automatically it's about $60 if you bill
month to month. So if you start the trial today,
you get seven days to do what I just did. Get your
store all set up. Honestly, you can probably do it in about 20 minutes.
And then before the seven
days are up, you can decide, hey, is this worth it?
Am I going to move forward with this? So we
have day one of our store. Doba Pilot built the shortlist.
I checked the suppliers to see what
they'll ship from. The store is set up and on the trial
and it's cost me about $2 so far. The next
video I want to continue work on this same store
but honestly Dooba Pilot took hours off of my to-do
list to get this store set up in fact you can probably get
this all set up shorter than you
can watching this video although I do talk pretty quickly
so if you want this to become a series
please do like and comment series
or something like that so let me know who's gotten to this
point and we can do a video going through what's after
this so if you want to try this and go on
this journey with me you can sign up for Dooba Pilot free
for 30 credits so you can start doing
your research then if you're ready you can sign up for Shopify
then you can sign up for Dooba the
dollar for seven days so link is in the description
and actually I have a promo code in there that you
actually get 10 percent off a paid plan
so save you some money that way too so thank you guys so much for
watching on this journey god bless you all
and have a great rest of your day
