Happy Tuesday, everyone.
I'm meteorologist Claire Anderson in the Fox 13 Weather Center.
For today, we do see some beautiful conditions out there
for this afternoon.
Temperatures will be the warmest day heading
into Wednesday with those highs in the 60s.
Now, slight chance of showers heading into our Thursday
as well with increasing clouds, light shower chances.
But then they really start to taper with a nice dry day
on Friday before some passing weekend showers.
So, a little mix of everything,
but that's fall in the Pacific Northwest.
Looking at our high temperatures today.
Low 60s for Seattle, Tacoma, and SeaTac.
Temperatures several degrees above seasonal average, as expected.
Even warmer tomorrow.
Low 60s for Bellingham.
66 out towards the coast.
65 degrees in Wenatchee.
Now, I do want to talk about the next several afternoons.
Tomorrow will be the warmest.
We cool back down into the upper 50s.
Saturday looking to be the coolest of the days
and milder into early next week.
So far, October, which is crazy
to think we're already almost in the last week of October,
definitely the second half,
most of these temperatures have been above average.
The warmest day so far was on Friday, last Friday, at 77 degrees.
Rainfall-wise, we are dry.
We typically see almost four inches of rain in October.
We have seen less than a tenth of an inch in total.
here's another interesting fact today back
in 2003 it is the wettest day on record for Sea
Tac, October 20th 2003 we had five inches of rain
an atmospheric river set up brought all that rain
but it is interesting to see how dry we
are this October compared to several years ago now why are
we so dry right now well high pressure continues
to build here for Tuesday as well as into Wednesday
giving us some offshore flows to some nice mild temperatures.
Heading into Thursday, we see a little bit of a dip right here,
bringing us this next week system,
which could bring a passing shower, too.
Then we start to see that high-pressure rebuild again for Friday
before those shower chances pass through heading into the weekend.
How's the look with Doppler radar?
Well, beautiful clear skies across the state today.
No rain, for that matter.
Mostly sunny skies, another clear evening ahead,
allowing temperatures to really drop into the overnight hours.
Futurecast late tonight into tomorrow.
Morning, few areas of patchy fog to start the day.
Mostly sunny skies throughout the afternoon.
Heading Wednesday into Thursday,
we start to see increasing clouds out towards the coast.
Mostly cloudy throughout the day and then shower chances
for late Thursday around the central Puget Sound.
Looking at our conditions for tonight,
a lot more cooler temperatures across the board.
Shelton, Olympia, Centralia, some frosty spots possible.
40s for Seattle and Everett.
Tomorrow, temperatures mid to upper 60s in the South Sound, low 60s
Bellingham, Everett, 70, Wenatchee, upper 50s out along the coast.
Central Puget Sound, mid to upper 60s as well,
out towards the coast, upper 60s.
We do see those cooler temperatures by Saturday in the mid 50s.
