to elevate the look of your home without buying
anything.

up and hit that like button.
Let's go ahead and jump right into it.
Now, if you have a floral arrangement
in your home that's looking a bit off, this might
be the thing you need to do.
Specifically, if you have artificial stems,
branches, or florals, a lot of those stems
come at a very long length
and you're supposed to bend the bottom of them or cut the bottom
of them to fit your vase properly.
A mistake I see a lot is people just sticking
those long stems into a vase and it really looks off.
You see a lot of stems hanging out.
It doesn't look proportionate to the vase or the room.
So it's all about finding that right length of stem for the vase
so it really looks correct.
I actually like getting stems that are really long
so I can adjust the length of them to really fit any vase in our home.
You can leave some a little longer, some a little shorter,
so you can fill out your vase really nicely.
I think you should see a lot of those florals as soon as the vase ends.
You don't want to see a lot of that artificial stem coming out.
So make it look as realistic as possible
by creating a better length for those stems.
Now, if you want to create a new look in your space,
you have the urge to redecorate.
First, start by emptying all your surfaces.
Sometimes it's easier to see your space
in a new way by seeing it somewhat empty.
It's way easier to come up with new ideas
when you can kind of see a blank canvas.
So remove all of your items
and then start redecorating with only 60% of your decor.
sometimes the problem is that you have too much
and taking out 40% of that
decor will actually open up
your space really highlight all of your decor
pieces and furniture and give your space a new look
then you can redecorate
another space with all of those extra items
so it's a really great way of just
kind of reimagining things in your home
for free super easily sometimes we spend
too much time finding the perfect piece
for that perfect location and we never
ever move it but remember that decor is not permanent.
You can have a lot of fun
just by it being a little bit more casual
if you're decorating to create a
whole new look. Another little floral
arrangement decorating trick is just to
swap out your vase or vessel for a different size.
When you're creating a
floral arrangement you really want to have
the right opening size to your vase.
If you have a really tight opening
and you're sticking florals inside it looks
very off and you create a really tall
and skinny look that might not work for
your space. If you have a lot of stems,
you really want to find a vessel that has about a six inch
opening to create a really big moment.
Something I always recommend doing when decorating and that's
creating levels. Use what you already have on your coffee table,
in your bookshelves, maybe on your
sofa already. Just create levels with what you have.
So find a small piece with a medium piece
and a large piece to create a cluster
and that's going to give you a more dynamic look. If you look
around your space and things are kind of a little too in line,
that's when you know you have to
create levels. Sometimes when I'm redecorating,
I find two items that I really like and I want to
put together, but they are way too close in size
and it really gives you that flat effect. So I
always just stack books underneath one of those pieces
to create a higher or lower effect and
give you the levels that way.
That way you can use your existing decor just by stacking something
underneath it and giving it a brand new look.
This is when shifting things around your space
and just reimagining your space really makes a big difference.
Maybe your side chair doesn't
looks so great just sitting on its own.
Maybe pairing it with a tall floor lamp that you already
have and a little stool or ottoman will make the world of a difference.
Having that low, medium,
and high level will make your space look complete
and really look intentionally designed. When a
space is becoming a little boring or not looking right,
I always shop my own home first before
looking for anything new. You can always make
your home look better by using items that you already
have that might just be in a different room
so go into your bedroom go into your dining room go into
your laundry room find something that you really love
and just swap it out with something else in
your space i love to steal ottomans
from our living room bring them into the entryway to
create a stool experience i love doing
this with small art it's very easy to interchange small art
around your home and having a noticeably different art piece
on your wall always makes your space
look refreshed and better.
So I always recommend just being casual with your art. Art doesn't have
to be permanent in your home.
You can easily take it off the wall, bring it somewhere new. You can
shop your home with lamps, throw pillows,
throw blankets, ottomans, accent chairs, benches, little
side tables. You can also do this with cabinets and dressers.
Dressers look great in an entryway.
They create a lot of storage
and they're the exact height that you would need to style a mirror,
a lamp and create a whole entryway experience
so maybe it's that unexpected piece that you
wouldn't have thought about that's gonna make
for the perfect look in your space now if you
have a wall mirror mounted in your home make sure
that you pair it with a light fixture
this could be a lamp it could be a sconce it could even be a candle
and having that light reflecting
off the mirror really brightens up your home
and that simple pairing just works every time
and really makes your space look intentionally designed
so lamps light fixtures candles really
work well with mirrors because they're reflecting all
that light around the space you get even more
light than you'd expect so if you have
a wall mounted mirror in your home that doesn't currently
have any kind of light fixture around it bring one
in for a really designer look now one item in a
home that a lot of people don't think to ever interchange
or swap out is their rug again rugs
are not permanent you can move them from one room
to another if the size works i've moved our family
room rug from the family room into our baby's nursery
and created a brand new look in that
space without having to buy a new rug, which made me very happy.
So use your rugs in new ways
wherever you can. Of course, this works really well
if you have multiple rugs in your home that
you really like and you have kind of a home color palette
that's very interchangeable. I always
recommend decorating your home with a common color palette
so that interchanging your decor is easy
and always work. I wanted to go for a more moody look
in this room last year so we just swapped out
this lighter rug for a darker rug to really bring in those fall colors
and it just transformed the
space so quickly. So sometimes it's just the rug that needs to change
and that's what makes the
biggest difference. So look at your decor
but also look at those larger items in your home
like your rug. Redecorating
and refreshing your home is all about just restyling those staples
that you already have we all do the same thing
with our wardrobes we use those staples in a new
way every single day these are my cut
from the cloth jeans i showed you before and last time i
mentioned them to you guys
so many of you guys said that you love cut from the cloth as well
and i totally see why you can just live in these jeans they're
so comfortable the stretch is so
great and i always get compliments
on these when i wear them out especially this bottom hem it's
just a really wide hem that gives it a lot more style
and i feel like that elevates the look of
these jeans even more but these are the first
and only pair of jeans i've been wearing postpartum
and i feel like they're giving me the confidence
that i really needed my favorite cut is always a
wide leg cut with a higher waist
because i feel like it gives you a really nice silhouette you
can tuck a shirt in you can wear a tight shirt
and it just kind of gives you a nice silhouette so
this is always my go-to look i can spend all day
in these playing with rowan working from home
wearing them out and about dressing them up for the evening
so if you're looking for a staple for
your wardrobe some good flattering denim denim
that you don't want to rip off as soon as you get
home because they're so comfortable definitely check out cut
from the cloth i think you guys
will love them as well i'll have them linked down below
in the description box so you guys
can shop them as well thanks so much to cut
from the cloth for sponsoring today's video
and lastly the one thing that's always going
to make your home look better in seconds
is simply just removing the small stuff if you have decor
or things around your home that are
smaller than your hand simply remove them tuck them away don't get rid
of them maybe store them
in a cabinet create a little decor cabinet that you can shop from later
but removing those small
things is really going to make
a big difference declutter it really highlight certain items better
and just refresh your homes all right
so that's it for today's video i hope you enjoyed watching
